Guys, It took me months and months to find out on the exactly answer for creating the interfaced circuit for DC motor control. I thought Stepper motor would be the solution, but apparently they do cause a few troubles, I could not be able to solve the circuit interface when running EPIC or FS2002. I have went through phone-calling, internet source, and e-mails to many kinds of robotics manufacturer and they seem don't quite get what I am looking for *sign... There are somedays I've been thinking about giving up on what I'm looking for but No, because giving up my hope would have got me becoming sad for not getting something in successful. What I am looking for is i…

For all you guys out there who have a TNT2 PCI card on your setups, I would really appreciate some advise on getting mine to work. As I said on a previous post, I am trying to install this card on a TXPro-II mobo with a Pentium 233MMX processor, 32MB DIMM RAM. The mobo has onboard 4MB VGA. I have tried installing it on all four PCI slots but there is no video signal coming from the Nvidia card. It is not damaged as it has been tested successfully on my main Athlon system. Even with the TNT2 properly seated on any of the TXPro-II's PCI slots, the mobo will continue routing video through the onboard VGA. Is there a way to disable onboard video? There is an option on the BIO…

I'm trying to decide on some options about a long term plan to build a GA twin cockpit for FS2002.My idea is to use monitors with cutouts to over the monitors in precise positions to simulate a panel. An ambitious idea is to mount knobs and switches on these cutouts in the positions where one would find them in the real thing.Added to the fact that I'm also trying to teach myself electronics basically from scratch, I'm confused about how to interface rotary encoder controls to FS2002. I'm muddling through the various ways of interfacing using Hagstrom stuff, hacked keyboards and so on, but the thing that has me puzzled is how to hardwire an encoder into a key sequence tha…

I purchased Honeywell AML22 switches for my MCP and would like to wire them up to a hagstrom KE72 card which I have as well. I've tested toggles successfully by just wiring up the ground and one Input line to the toggle switch but I can't seem to get the AML22s to work.Any help or wiring diagram would be greatly appreciated!Best regards,Pesach(KJFK)

All,There are some additions and modifications to the DIY instrument pages on my site. The new material is about a third of the way down this page: www.mikesflightdeck.com/DIY_servo_instruments.htm and includes pictures of an RC servo based attitude indicator and combined localizer-CDI.Mikewww.mikesflightdeck.comInfo for simpit builders.

Hi,I do experience a very strange behavior of Windows 98 SE.My Pedestal, finished last week, does use three circuits stripped of from three different USB joysticks. Trust - Sidewinder - Eliminator. The Thrust circuits works well and was easy to calibrate.X = Throttle 1Y = Throttle 2Z = FlapsThe Sidewinder is very difficult to calibrate. It's bouncing, but with patience I get it.X= Prop 1Y= Prop 2Z= Trim ElevatorThe Eliminator is very jerky, more than difficult to calibrateX= Mixture 1Y= Mixture 2Z= Rudder PedalsAs I said, the calibrating is frustrating, but what happen and is strange and usual, it's that I am always loosing all the calibrating sometimes after a reboot of …

This might be off issue here, but I remember I detect someone posted information about building laser cutter or letter engraving. I hope someone know any of website that explain how to build laser or letter engraving... does anyone? I'd be truly appreciated.

Hello,Finally a choice has been made. SERVOS. As you can see on the attached pictures the servo for Axis -X - fits already in. I must now find a small one for Axis - Y. As you can see on the attached pictures the frame of the original motor ( as I did for Axis X) has been "Dremeled" out in order to get a servo fitted in. One problem is still in front of me.As you can in one of the pictures attached I have to find a solution in order to get the axis directly connected to the shaft of the servo.(axis side shown is the wrong side but is the same on the other side)There are as far as I know two type of shaft. The one I photographed and a square one used on Multiplex servos. I…

I have just finished my new Helo Controls.Uses an MSff2 stick as the base, and I have figured out how to link the entire stick to a cyclic, collective and pedals. YUP....pedals. This bugger is very sensitive, as I have set all travel limits to +/- 2" on the cyclic with FSUIPC. In other words, a total travel of 2" in any direction on the cyclic gives full max travel. I have the cyclic sitting at the height where I can rest my wrist on my thigh and "twitch" it with my fingers. Works very well.Pedals have a total travel of 6 inches from full back to full forward, so again I have maximised their sensitivity for helo flying. The collective is a little unorthodox. In order to ke…

Lurking around i found the definitive solution for using rotary encoders!Especially for those not well accostumed with microcontroller programming, and eletronic engineering. Also useful for those with epic, hangstrom and FSBUS hardware!http://www.lsicsi.com/products_files/body_...ts-encoders.htmThe unit numbered 7083 is the smallest. It produces a pulse on eighter up or down pin, depending on turning direction of the shaft, for every encoder snap.It may also quadruplicate the number of pulses.More complex unit have other options, like 2x (7083 has only 1x or 4x), and other.Have a look.I found them at www.mvr-int.combut the usual digikey and others may have.CiaoClaudio

I just connected my Hagstrom KE72 and connected two test switches. After creating a seneca.cfg file from the sample.cfg that came with it. I am unable to load my seneca.cfg file. I am using Win98SE and according to the documentation to load a cfg file through the keyboard port (k) I must boot in true DOS mode. I have forgotten everything I ever knew about DOS (and that wasn't much!) But here is what I get:I restart my computer in DOS mode. At the Command prompt I get: C:/Windows> Then I type in "KE72LOAD seneca.cfg k" exactly like the documentation says and I get:bad command or file nameI put the seneca.cfg file in the windows directory before I booted up in DOS mod…

Everyone, If motor vibration can be used in as a forcefeed back, Is there any idea how I could get it to programming it with FS2K2? any interfaced card or ICs that can do these functions? Let me know

Hi,Finally I have dispose the original motors and wiring. Now I am in front of a new dilema. The heads of the motors are in fact gears. If I do remove them, I really do not see How I could place the RC servos, or then I would need custom CNC machined pieces. Big Deal. For the X axis it could be possible, but not for the Y axis, becausein that case the servos should also act as main axis. This seems to me like making a swiss watch. Now as you can see on the pictures there is just enough place for a stepper motor but not for a servo, even a small one. Advises are needed and welcomed.RegardsRoger

Guys, I've had no luck selling this cockpit and I'm at my wit's end. I've gone through a divorce and so this project just isn't moving forward. I need to sell the cockpit and will sell it for a lot less than what I have paid into getting it here.If anyone is interested, please contact me. I have plenty of pictures. You would just need to come pick it up and take it home. Otherwise, I'm afraid it's going to end up in the dump. I have it stored at a friend's house and he's no longer willing to keep it there and I have no other place to put it.Hope to hear from [email protected]

This question doesn't directly deal with flight simming (tho it very well could with the right application), so I apologize in advance. I'm searching all over the internet and tweaking co-workers' knowledge for help, and thought I'd post here where great developers hang out (how's that for kissing rump? Seriously, I'm in awe of ideas that flow here)...Anyway, what I want to do is either code (or have coded by some willing soul) a windows service that will monitor a serial port (or USB/parallel for that matter) that is hooked to a NO set of relay contacts, and should the relay go NC, will trigger the service to do the configured task.To be more specific, (and show how my a…

I have made rudder pedals with a 100K pot. After researching this site and others, the advice is to wire the pot between pins 9 and 11 on the DB15 plug.On opening the plug, there was already a wire on pin 11 which I removed and, in turn connected the 100k pot.By doing this, the pedals worked ok but, disconnecting the existing wire from pin 11 caused the throttle axis on my Suncom/dual throttle combo to cease working? Before this, I was using one othe side of the split throttle for throttle and the other side as an elevator trim.I realize I can reassign the elevator axis to throttle but, is there any way i could wire the rudder to fifferent pins and leave the throttle/elevat…

Has anyone considered the use of a Saitek Command Pad P8000 (also known as Dash 2) for use in a cockpit? This pad has 70 programmable keys (key strokes and/or macros), so should be great for use in a cockpit environment.Any comments?Keith....Wherever you go, there you are...

Hi,Finally I started the wiring of my pedestal - trottle quad.At this time I do have two usb circuit. The first one is for throttle one, throttle two and for flaps. The second circuit is for propeller 1, propeller 2 and Evevator trim. So, the throttle and props do well. The flaps axis has been set in FS as the spoiler axis and I set it in fsuipc.ini. as a flaps axis. The elevator trim has been of course set as elevator trim.FS2K2 does recognize both axis in menu controls assignements, but once in the plane they do not work, and FSUIPC do not recognize these axis as well. Where is the problem. Thanhs for your advices. I do not know FS2F2 as well as Xplane where I was an heav…

I have a Seneca Twin quadrant that I wish to interface with FS2002.I am looking for wiring diagrams for pot to USB for each of the controls. At this stage mixture is not important as I generally fly turbo props.I am new to this side of simming so any help /drawings / pictures would be greatly appreciated.

Hi everyone,I redid my existing throttle unit to look and feel a lot more like a real one.It is not yet finished but i have been spending the entire weekend working on it.Right now i have decided to use sheet metal to cover it.One of my problems was creating resistence when powering up and i ended up using weather stripping insulation to add drag when moving the levers forward/back.Works excellent! My flap lever is operated by pulling up and forward/back to flap lever choice. So far so good...I am trying to spread out the detents for each flap settinginstead of having them so close together.Any ideas welcome.RegardsJames

Hi everyone,I have made a flap control and i have a question which regards to distance between each flap movement. Is their a way to "distant" each flap setting on a 100k pot that im using so when i move my flap leverin increments they are not so close together?Does FIUPIC adjust this changing the "min" or am i stuck with such close quarters of movement.I am currently using a 100k pot/ 270 degree. It works just fine but the movements are "too close" together. I want to try to spread them a bit futher apart.Any suggestiond are welcome!ThankyouJames
