When would one use the DISENGAGE instead of just clicking the A/P CMD off? Also I checked the box to have the ARM A/T tied to the A/P CMD and DISENGAGE, but it looks like DISENGAGE leaves the ARM A/T switch UP ( on ) when I use it - atlease when looking at the 2d 737 panel.Any ideas/comments?Thanks,Myles

I am running XP and FS2002.Having read previous posts, it confirmed the results I got when I tried 2 monitors (I just slotted in an old PCI video card to work with my AGG radion 64mb card.) The framerates died and basically made the program unusable I was, of course trying to run full screen on 2nd monitor with external views!I realize now that probably the only answer is multiple PC's and Wideview? Here is my question:I would like to run 4 monitors in total. Can anyon please tell me If the following scenario is achievable using Wideview.Main PC: monitor 1 showing full screen outside viewMain PC: Monitor 2 showing full screen panel view.2nd PC: Monitor 1 Showing fu…

Hi My question is this:I have 2 computers for my cockpit- Computer-1 runs FS2002,has a network card and wireless USB network Computor-2 runs Project Magenta/WIDEFS for my instruments with the network card.I can get computer-2 and computer-1 to work together for my cockpit but have trouble getting computer-1 to connect to computer-3 (main hub wireless) for internet use.Is it possible to use both (network card/and USB wireless)?Example:While i am flying with networked computers-1&2 i want to connect to the internet with wireless USB(also on computer-1) to computer-3 for weather updates. Is it possible? or ...any solutions?Thankyou for any kind of help..JamesP.S. I know that you have to now turn on the audio signal if you want the Outer Market Aural Warning to beep in FS2K2. Unfortunately, it is a mouse click on the 737 radio stack. I would like to connect this function to a switch but I don't see any FS2002 Control Commands (Dowson Docs) for the OM Audio. The Idents for VOR,ADF, DME are all there but no OM. Does anybody know the Control Number or Name for this function and has anyone set it up on a switch to an audio panel. I am using Hagstrom exculsively for toggles, pushbuttons and AML's. Key to Mouse won't work if you kill the panel so that won't be a good solution. Any advice? Thanks.SAL

Dear all,Yesterday, I had a chance to open my CH Yoke USB.I look at the pot, it seems that the potensiometer's rotation is not 270 degree like what it is usually be found on the market...Is it 100 KOhm's POT??ThanksArif

Hi all,Lately it's getting very difficult to find several electronic and mechanical parts in Athens. So, I'm looking into the possibility to order online and have them shipped from within Europe. Why Europe only? Because of the shipping charges and customs being way too high from anywhere else.If you know any Electronics shop in Europe (with EU preffered), or any shop that sells gears etc (again in Europe), please let me know. Thanks!George DorkofikisAthens, Greece

I am seriously thinking to make a home cockpit. I am in designing stage amd deciding what plane to simulate.I wish to ask you guys, if I decide to add a motion plataform to the home cockpit from where point could I take the information to get the data to move the plataform? This is important to me as first step to decide if the motion plataform is possible or not...(without thinking in money, of course)Thanks in advanceRodolfo

Hello all,I'm working on a 757 cockpit and I'm about to finish the throttle quadrant. Just to make sure my project is as close to the real thing as possible, can anyone identify this switch? To give due credit the picture is cropped from one of Andreas outstanding Boeing 767 cockpit dimension pictures. Thanks, Andreas!Scott

Im in the "thinking" stage of building a home helicopter cockpit.First question for you veterans out there....The Celeron computers arent too expensive. Do they have the necessary muscle to run as a client on WideView???Thanks for the help.John.

Hello,I don't really have a cockpit, but an extremely basic setup with yoke, pedals, soon to be adding a throttle and extra computer. Anyway, I have always loved the Boeing 727(all series) and wonder if anybody knows of a source where I could get an old cockpit seat from a 727 to "fly" in. Any of those places in Arizona possibly? Also guesses how much it would cost? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks,Marc

Head over to: www.digital-flight.com and have a look at the LCD module they have built. Should be very useful for cockpit designers, and very simple to build as well.

I wonder if anyone could help on the following questions:I run XP on a 2.4 mhz system with dual head card and all works great.I have the chance to get some really cheap 400mhz (64MB ram)systems and was wondering... What I would like to achieve from the secondary systems is 1 external view on each.1) Does anyone know if these low powered systems would work with FS2002 and Wideview?2)Assuming that these systems would not be capable of running XP would the network function with Win 98 on the secondary machines and XP on the main?I have very limited knowledge on networks so any help would be appreciated.Thank youNorm

Hi All:I'd like to build my own throttle quadrant for a King Air I am planning. I have a question. The throttle quadrant will have 6 levers - 2 throttle, 2 prop and 2 fuel condition, basically double what you have on todays single CH flight yoke (which I already have - USB).I think I cannot use a 15 pin game port adapter. I read a previous article saying the best way would be to trash an old USB joystick and use the existing circuitry. I have a CH USB now, what would be the easiest way to double the amount of levers and make it work USB style. I will use Rob's excellent "How to build 4 engine Throttle article" If anyone has any thoughts/help please let me know....thanksJB

I've seen some great posting recently on throttles and how to create resistance. I'm in the design phase of my throttles and I'm wondering if there are any good articles out there that deal with pot range of movement and alignment with throttle travel. In otherwords, when my throttles are pulled back to idle, I want my pots to be aligned at approx zero, and when throttles are full, likewise pots are maxed. Seems to me it's going to be tricky to figure out the exact range of motion and gearing to get them to work.Any of you folks that are already beyond this, if you'd be kind enough to share some wisdom it would be much appreciated.thx.Kevin

I've been looking into setting up an fsbus http://www.fsbus.de system, but really didn't want to mess around with etching pcb's at home, or working out the circuits on strip-board. Therefore I approached a company here in england with the view to getting the boards professionally made. There are currently 2 of us who will be getting the pcbs, so if anyone else is interested, we can reduce the costs.at present, I have had a quote for the following.2 of each FSCom, FSLED, FSKEY, FSDisp3, FSdisp8 at

I'm in the early stages of cockpit design. I have opted to get the visuals down pat before progressing with much of the h/w. I have a projector hooked up to a GForce4 card and it's doing the front view with all instruments moved to a secondary monitor. Works GREAT! If you can afford to drop $1500-2K for a low end projector, you won't be sorry...the feel of flight on a 90" screen is incredible. First time I've ever felt what I've felt in the real plane when lining up for final. See pictures attached.Anyway, question is... every time I select the aircraft, the panel positions are all reset to the projector screen. Anyone know how to set the panel positions so that th…

Hello All, Has anyone actually built the Hagstrom Rotary Encoder Circuit? with their parts. I recived mine awhile back, finally had time to check them today...and the supplied diagram shows 22 pin-outs on "rotary IC"(each side) but it appears to have only 20 (each side)...Im no electronics expert by any means but do have some basic knowledge...I am an electrician by trade....any help would be greatly appreciated!! Also, been away from Forum for awhile, its great to see so much participation.ScottN

Hello everyone,Im sure anyone who has made their own throttle quads came across the delema of wanting "realistic resistence" when throttling upand backing off.Well, I have been looking for a way of creating just that when I built mine.I have tried most of every way possible with out spending alot. Some sites suggested using "dampeners" from automotive hatchbacks as one way but they were a bit pricey and they were to long with spring/gas loaded pressure.I put together some pieces from my local hardware store and assembled 2 ea for my throttle system. It works fantastic!and the pressure is fully adjustable by tightening or loosening the nuts that squeeze the rubber grommets.…

Total newbie here... Here's what I'm trying to do :- 1 USB stick with rudder and throttle (4 axis) and a bunch of buttons (controller 1)- 1 USB interfaced (gameport to USB adapter) home-made controller with 4 axis (controller 2)The home-made controller works fine in Gameport mode or with the USB interface, I use USB for convenience. They both work in Windows (calibration, test and all). They both Work in IL-2 Sturmovik (and it's quite fun to use them both). In FS2002, I can see them both in the drop-down menu... BUT...When I want to assign, say, axis-Y of controller 2 to "propeller pitch" axis, here's what I do : select propeller pitch, select controller 2 in the drop-down …
