I was going Through the FSUIPC advanced users manual and I found this:" Second, you can now program those two-phase type rotary switches, the ones where turning the spindle one way gives pulses on two lines phase shifted one way, and turning the spindle the other way gives the opposite phase relationship."Did anyone tried this? It seems very similar to Kdarling method but it can be made to work with gamepads/joysticks buttons.Tassos

Hello everyone. Does anyone have, or knows where to get, a block diagram for Suncom. I would like to be able to use most of the hardware contained in that assembly. I cannot find a driver that installs/works in W98SE, if anyone knows where to get one, please let me know. Thanks. TV

I found this concentric rotary switches ELMA C07 Concentric www.elma.com/us/products/rotary_components/Coded%20Switches/32Since my electronic knowledge is a little less than my Nuclear physics knowledge I wanted to ask if anyone knows if we can use these switches without too much trouble for NAV/COM radios (if a simple implementation like Knitter or Kdarling method is possible). Thanks in advanceTassos

A) I just wanted to ask if there is any way to use 3d accelaration in both monitors in a double video card setup, 1 pci GF4 440mx and 1AGP GF2 220mx.What I want to do is run in 2 monitors connected in the same computer freefd through widefs but it seems that only the primary monitor can use 3d accelaration.:( This Question is mainlly for Tuomas but if any one else can help I will be greatfull. In a double card setup i tried to run fs full screen in the primary adapter (GF4 440MX128 PCI) and Undock the custom made panel to run on the second adapter (GF2 220MX32 AGP) but what happens is that it seems that fs is getting locked in a way (I cant even acces the menu through the …

Hi everyone. I tried to gathered all the informations I could in order to build my fighter cockpit but I have now some problems with no answers, could you try to help me there ?1. I hacked a keyboard in order to link it with all the switches I have : this worked like a charmed with pushbutton switch : I am able to produce 'g' for example. With a toggle switch I am only able to produce a continuous 'ggggggggggggggggg' : is there a way to avoid that ?2. I would like to know if the MRP 1-20 from Knitter-switch can be used as a rotary switch with the haccked keyboard method ( I mean without any other electronic devices like decoders and so on )? If so I've been in touch with …

I have been reading about keyboard emulation, and have a question. Is it safe to power this type of circuit with any ordinary 5 volt power supply that comes out of the wall? I'm not an electronic genius. After wall power has been converted to 5V DC and .3A, can this present a fire hazard or danger of electricution? Thanks, any info is appreciated.Ken

I have recently built a set of anti torque pedals for my sim. I am now working on a cyclic. I have the means to build cast aluminum grips. Since there is a fair bit of work to make the pattern I'm wondering if there are any other builders interested in getting one. Also while we are at it:1) what would be a good design for a generic grip ?2) How many buttons and/or hat switches3) What would be a good and fair price? Send me your wish list and I'll see what I can do.ThanksMike

I notice 7 possibilities on the fsbus com pcb to connect the other pcb's. Does any body know wheter it is possible to use the 7 ports in any combination you like?So for example can I use 2 fsbus keys PCB's together with 2 fsbus displays pcb's? Or can I use just one of every kind? Thanks for any helpNorbert Boschhttp://home.wanadoo.nl/norbert.bosch

Is there any major disadvantage in using the game port over a USB port for my homemade throttles? It seems that the game port would be cheaper, because all I would need is a gameport cable and 4 pots. If I were to use a USB port, I'd basically need to buy a USB joystick, cut it open, and connect my pots directly to its' internal circuit board.Any thoughts?Kenneth

Can anyone help me out on a little dilema i have with building some throttles based around the design of Rob Barendregt,s.In his write up for wiring to the game port he uses a game port connector and connects it to usb throu a 'gameport to usb converter'.Is there a way to connect straight to usb?I have some old microsoft and quickshot joypads and wondered if i could use the interfaces from these some how.

do you guys know anywhere where i can by a fully working 757/767 overhead panel i don't think that i will be able to make one so i guess i rather save and buy one.Best Regards Adib Afraj

I am building a 6-detent flap handle and wish to use FSUIPC to configure a spare pot-meter on my second joystick. I have read the FSUIPC instructions regarding "Assignment of FLAPS_SET control (for FS2002)" and must admit I'm a little lost. I understand how to edit files such as FS2002.CFG and FSUIPC.INI with the Notepad program, but am unclear on what changes need to me made in order to configure a spare pot for the flaps. Can anyone explain this to me?Thanks.

Hi all,As my project evolves, I am running into severe space issues. I am building my sim in an 8X12 room that also serves as our home office. Needless to say, as the thing evolves my wife is getting increasingly anxious about my project taking over this small space.Additionall, I have recently aquired an NEC XG135LC projector that can do up to a 300" screen, but the thing needs lots of room!So... I am looking for alternatives for where to build my cockpit. I was looking at the pics of James Price's recent SimFest and it looks like he has his cockpit setup in a rental storage space or something... is anyone doing this or something similar? Any and all suggestions welc…

Since I have EPIC ISA along with 7-Seg digital display module, 32 bit output module, and of course EPIC Expansion Module. Due to a little problem on $$, I could not be able to get another module from EPIC, instead of that I'd just have to build them myself, and also it'd gain my knowledge and experience into electronic. Anyway, on to the point. To get the true feeling of my cockpit, I would just need multiple 7 segment digit display using MZX7219 or FSBUS methods. Not only that, but to have Servo module running up for the Auto throttle and Auto Yoke. And I am on it now. But before doing this instead of spending my time on work for nothing I would need some feedback for…

Guys, I seem to be missing a step here with attempting to use my CH yoke mixture lever for trust reverse on PIC 767.Im trying to build a cockpit for PIC 767, using Goflight Units, Project magenta, for one reason or another I need to have a dedicated thrust reverse, Ive tried to configure the yoke on page 7 of FSUIPC, and it reads that I need to do something to the FS2002 config file.Being almost over the hill (age) I have difficulty in understanding the instructions from FSUIPC.Could some kind soul take pity on this old soldier and give some easy to understand instructions. Thanks guys. I have aquired two green crt monitors, wich i am planning to use for my fmc-displays. Problem is, they are build in (wich is not the biggest prob), and they have a subD 9pin input connector. Is there a way to convert vga to this format? Anyone have experience in this matter?I can email pictures of the monitors if u like... They come from a controle unit from a ADO effects unit for video (brand: Ampex)greetz

Hi!I'm building a shell to house my goflight and TRC equipment, and since the TRC equipments needs a standard PC power supply connector, I thought it would be nice if I could use the same supply for my 3 USB hubs. The problem here is that the hubs need 6 volts and the power supply supplies 5 volts. I'm not that much into electronics but I guess this shouldn't be too much of a problem. Is there anyone out there that has a better knowledge of this?

I set up a prototype GA panel (radios and AP) and I used 4 knitter switches for com1, com2, nav1, nav2 and 4 stby push buttons. Now my problem is that I did not realize that I need a different rotary for whole numbers and different for decimals , so I ended using the com1 for whole numbers com ,com2 for com decimals etc. What I wanted to ask is if there is a way to toggle between com1/com2 , nav1/nav2?Thanks in advance Tassos

Since I ordered MAX7219 ICs few months ago, I have already went through few expirments. And to say this, some of them are pretty complicated since I never have any circuit diagrams. The only effort I have done is going through pin diagram of this chip and so far some of the expeirment I did was a sucessful solution, some of them weren't. Apparently I could done some miswiring or did not comprehend the function of each pins. So I am wondering whoever done with MAX7219 experiments, would you care to share out the circuit diagram or known any websites that has all of information according to MAx7219's connections with 7 Segment digit displays and LED. So that way I could get…
