Hi All,Considering the amount of confusion about manufacturing PCBs and Kits in the future, I was wondering whether someone out there has the dimensions of the PCBs used in the FSBUS system? If someone, including Dirk has the dimensions of all of the boards, I could then print out the GIFS and JPGs of the boards onto a sheet of clear overhead projector sheet and then use this as a negative for a photo-resist blank PCB. The problem is, the quality of the pictures is fantastic, but not the correct size. Its is generally out by a little bit, and enough to make it unusable for components such as DIL sockets, 7 Segment leds, and header connectors. Each of the boards has a cr…

Hi guys, has anyone already managed to communicate between a VB.net-solution and the EPIC-Hardware via the epicio.dll? It seems to be a big problem, because the epicio.dll is not a valid .net-object (I mean: this is the error-code).Thanks, Joachim

Hello Everyone, I'm in the planning stages for my home cockpit. I'm going to try to develop something of a cross between the mooney Bravo, Lear 45 and the King Air 350. The plan is to use some GoFlight avionics, some insturments from SimFlight and some monitors with stuff from project magenta. In order to make this as realistic as possible given the combination of insturmentation between the 3 planes I'd like to have the exact dimensions from each aircraft's panel. This way I can combine them to suit the best layout. I will end up taking the final panel plan to a shop and have it laser cut to my specs.Any ideas or input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks,Scott

I am having a great deal of trouble finding any hardware or information for constructing a 737 classic cockpit, and even greater difficulty finding any panels or gauges for the analouge 733 with GPWS and TCASII. Anybody got any ideas? i mean, i can buy them from epmm for about 140k USD (just panels, no guages) but i'm not wanting to spend near that.

I need some 7-segment led's with the pins on the ends, not sides, .30" character height, amber or red. If anyone knows a source plus part number i would appreciate it. I've had no luck here in the US, they all have the pins on the sides. These are for FSBUS displays. The relays for the DO board are hard to find also. Thanks,Rob

anyone has done this before ?1 display on the AGP in which you have a GeForce or some sort2 displays on the PCI slots in which you obviously have 2 simple PCI video cards.this is the plan I got ..pls don't tell me 'bout the matrox on which you can put 3 displays on 1 card cuz I KNOW :D but that one is to expencive. besides it needs directx9 and fs2002 doesn't like that one. so you end up with 800*600 res :/anywayz .. 1 pc .. 3 displays .. has this been done before ? let me know !

Hi Folks,I'm in the planning stages for the construction of a 737-700 flight deck. I'm having a hard time finding information on many height measurements for the cockpit and was hoping people here might be able to help me. Specifically, here are the measurements I need:1. Floor to seat height (i.e. how far one's rear is from the floor - if adjustable then min & max).2. Floor to bottom of the main panel (not the lighting control underhang but the actual panel housing the CRTs).3. Floor to overhead panel.4. Floor to top of center radio pedestal.5. Length of center windshield divider and its angle to a perpendicular.6. Depth of rudder pedal chambers e.g. how far forwar…

Here some updates on the DIY motion platform project. http://forums.avsim.com/user_files/3449.jpgI replaced the 19" CRT with an LCD, which improved the weight balance a lot. Pitch action is now much faster with the same driving power. http://forums.avsim.com/user_files/3450.jpgThe large Freshnell lens makes a real difference. More dept and about 40" view. http://forums.avsim.com/user_files/3451.jpghttp://forums.avsim.com/user_files/3452.jpgThe addition of plastic covering now has me completely isolated from the surrounding, to improve the immersion factor. It does not look very pretty, but it works. The motion interface is still via the yoke, rudder, brakes and signals fr…

As the first thread was getting a touch long, I thought I would continue this way. With my legendary sense of timing I gave up the search for knitter-switches some two days before a post appeared talking about a source in Hungary. Ah well, having decided to try the kdarling method as modified for the Hagstrom, I found some ordinary, cheap rotaries. As an experiment I installed one on an existing panel. The only difference I could see from what I've read is that the panel uses a Hagstrom USB decoder which has a graphic interface for allocation of keys. The installation went fine but when I tested the result in Notepad, the output was when turning both left and right - Bb…

Hello all.... just wanted to introduce myself to the home-built community as a new member. I just ordered all the FSD parts for a 777 and hope to begin construction on the center pedistal in June.I have spent a great deal of time researching on techniques and ideas. Very original stuff! Few questions come to mind that haven't really been answered in my Internet search.1. I agree that it is far cheaper to construct your yoke and pedals. My question is what can I use as a guide for the dimensions, shape, etc. for a B777 yoke and control column?2. EPIC, FSBus, Etc.?
