Hi.I was wondering if anyone had the panel layout files for either the A320 or the 737NG. I did find some PDFs on hanskrohn.com but I heard there are more detailed ones on the net at least for the A320. RahulNew Delhi, [email protected]

Greetings everyone!I'm a sim pilot and a real-world pilot who would like to build a "cockpit"/interface of the 1903 Wright Flyer to be used at an aviation exhibition together with the upcoming FS2004 Century Of Flight in celebration of the 100 years of the first flight. The US Experimental Aircraft Association has done it. Here in Europe we would like to have our own too and impress everyone with the amazing achievment of those two Wright brothers. Is anyone here that has taken on this project? Does anyone have any info that could be of help? I have no cockpit building experience (yet), although this is more like a very complicated interface/joystick project rather than a …

Hello: A quick question. I am planning a home cockpit. Due to the setup I envision, the computers may be some distance away from where I plan on sitting with my yoke (CH Flight Sim Yoke usb). The standard cable supplied will not be long enough to reach the computers. Is there a cable that I can plug into the usb jack on the end of the yoke, and then into the computer? I have searched (perhaps not good enough) for this topic but have not found anything. Thanks for any help or advice you can give me.

Has anyone got the new ELITE panels from FDS yet?If so, what is the size of the NAV and COM frequency display cutouts? Will the 7-segment LED display units sit behind the panel, or inserted in the cutouts, flush with the front?I am building my radio stack, and want to choose parts that will fit the ELITE series later.Vidar

Hi everyone,I'm new to this forum, but I think it is the right place for my question.I am entering my junior year of high school next year, and I am thinking ahead to my senior year. There is an elective course called WISE. It stands for something, but all I know is it is something to the effect of "Individual Senior Experience." A friend of mine and I would like to look for approval to build a cockpit for this project. It is an entire year, and projects in the past are things like learning to play an instrument, directing a play, writing a piece of music, etc. I think our idea would be interesting and fun.I am looking to this forum for the logistics on this type of thing…

Hi guysJust ordered my FMC at flightdecksolutions.Had it ion my hands at the cockpitbuildersmeeting last weekend in amsterdam and it is great.I have to connect it to a hagstrom encoder. I use project magenta with it on a client pc in my LAN.For several keys I need shift-F1 etc. If I did not use these I could do with simpel keyboardhacking.I think I could do with a hagstrom ke18. It has a 9 x 9 matrix. So it can accept 81 switches, that should ne enough. Is the KE 18 OK? Why uses everybody the much more expensive KE72?On the FDS site they use a KE 24 (12 x 12 matrix).ANy of you experiance with the KE 18?Thanks for infonorbert boschhttp://home.wanadoo.nl/norbert.bosch

I'm a little far from building a complete home Cockpit. But i have my main computer, which is a PIV 1.7 Ghz with 512 Ram and Windows XP, and my old computer which is a PII 400 Mhz and 64 Megs of Ram and running windows 98SE. IS it possible to connect these two computer on a ethernet network, so i can run my FS in the main computer and all the other weather add-ons etc in the old computer? I mean, the main concern i have is that i have WinXP on one and Win98SE in the other, is that a major problem? I don't want to bother you that much, so if you know of any web-site that has guides on how to build a ethernet home network, i'd be glad to know about them. Thanks in advanceHe…

Is it possible to duplicate the same scenery view on 2 separate monitors. So far I have been able to put different panel views on each monitor, but the scenery is only on one or the other. Any ideas? Would something like Wideveiw enable me to accomplish this? Thanks! Art

Hello All, I need some advice, tips and maybe a walk through on how I should set up my system, and maybe also what software I must use, to be able to have a twin view of the cockpit (3d & 2d). Well, let me first say exactly what my system consists of:Pentium 4 3 06GHz (with HT enabled)Asus P4G8X-D motherboardATi Radeon 9700 Pro1Gb Ram OEM160Gb Maxtor Hard-Disk2 x 19" XIOD (Samsung Tube) Flat Monitors - identicalTempretures are good, and no overclocking at all for now. As many already know (who use ATi), there is the HydraVision option to manipulate multiple monitors and displays. For the moment, I am not interested to see side views actually, but a more panoramic fron…

I'm currently working on my output needs (displays, gauges, etc.) and I started looking into various options. I got lucky and managed to get my hands on a few aircraft gauges. Some of these seem to be controlled by phase motors. Does anyone have specific electronic info on how to drive these instruments from an analog or digital output interface?I opened up the radio compass and it has 4 wires. The label inside says its a "Bendix". The rotor is 1 phase @ 22V and the stator is 3 phase @ 9.1V. There's another number "100" with a sine wave which I believe it to mean 100Hz.I've never worked with phased motors and I have only a very basic idea on how they work in theory through…

Hi all,I have been sneaking around here for some time and been collecting ideas and stuff and now I thought its time I introduced myself and maybe generally participated in the discussion.About myself: A340 builder, living in Bangkok/Thailand, German, absolutely no manual or electronic skills, I embarked on this adventure about 1 year ago. I used to be a PPL for 28 years and had to give up flying due to the requirements of my job. My flightsimming experience dates back to the times when FS still ran on my Apple II.Everything else can be seen on my homepage http://wallentins.comI would be happy to exchange some experiences with people who are like me.... Hi again,I'm still investigating building a few of the FSBUS cards. It's all starting to make sense now thanks to all the good posts on this forum.Anyway, I'm curious if anyone know of a parts list for the different fsbus cards. I had http://mikkila.remec.fi/fsbus/doc/parts_e.php bookmarked but it looks like the site was taken over and the fsbus info is no longer there. Can anyone recommend a site to purchase the components at. I'd like to stay away from radio shack :). I've tried mouser.com and they have some of the PIC's but maybe there is another company that has them for less. Also, I'm wondering where I would pick up the connectors for the ribbon cable between control…

I'm not a programmer and the controller does not come with software. I would like to know if anyone has tried this controller and what program they used? I plan on using it to run the servo driven gauges for my cockpit. The controller seemed like it would work for this. The cost was 47.00 dollars U.S with free shipping Any input and help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.Ps I'm using the LPT1 switch and it works great. Heres the websight [email protected]

Hi All, just noticed Dirk has released FSbus 2.0 Beta for testing, it looks quite different but I think it is improved from the old version.I have not hooked up my boards to it yet but have just run FS with it & monitored the values changing, it seems to be working well. After install it was complaining about VCL60.BPL borland file library not found, I overcame this problem by downloading the file from here:http://www.prokon.com/win/VCL60.ZIPJust unzip the files & dump them into the FSbus 2.0 directory that you installed to.I believe he is going to fix this problem within the next day or so, so your FSbus download may work straight off. Cheers Glenn.
