Hello all,I need some help with reading the Com III schematic so I can get on the BUS!1) R1 is labeled as 2k2. Should it be 22K Ohms?2) R4 is labeled as 4k7. is it 47k Ohms instead?3) LED1 - what is "rot" ??? & is it conected directly to the ground pin of the 12V regulator???4) Over here, we don't have Nano Farad caps. I am assuming C7 is same as a .1uf cap (that is if I got my conversions right). Thanks for all the help. Best RegardsSean W

Hi, I am new to visual basic 6.0... and I am going to use it to make a compatible with FS2002 between a seven segment digit display interface card using MAX7219.. Does anyone know any webpage or any sources that can explain me how to use codes working with FS2002? Please don't recommend me about EPIC, KE72 or FSBUS... I know about those since I am a frequently Avsim forum visitor, Also I have my own EPIC modules. I am just doing some experiment and some implement at desire to understand how to use codes and that I could get to use it for CIS or my next coming projects.

I have my chance to get a 727 throttle quad. Do you guys have any information on how to get the levers and switches interfaced with pots? My buddy Rob says he uses pushrods. Just wondering what everyone else here uses. Thanks

Finally have a 5.6" TFT display to connect to PM MCDU. I was able to get an almost full screen picture using the video out on a GeForec3 video adapter. The problem is, the MCDU display does not fill the entire 320 x 240 screen. I used the Pm commands to stretch the MCDU screen to fill my 17" monitor, but it doesn't help on the 5.6" display. Long ago I remember reading about a program someone used to fill the screen. Anyone have an idea what it was or what to use?Richard

Hello,Can someone suggest some on-line flight-sim stores that they have had good transactions with in the past?Specifically, I'm thinking of picking up the AFCS III Yoke at www.glide-slope.com. They seem to have a pretty good sale price for it, but I couldn't find them on resellerratings.com. I'm new to this hobby, so I would like to hear any stories or experiences in dealing with this store. I would also appreciate suggestions for alternatives.Thanks!-William

Hi,as i don't know anything about electronics, pcbs, microcontrollers etc, i friend of mine, helps me for the FsBUS's PCBs.So today we finished the Com and Display boards and we manage to Flash the PIC succesful. As the English manual says, after pressing the reset pushbutton on Com board we have "-" a dash in every of 5 7-segment displays. Ok!!!But after this we always see only the dash even we changing the values with a simulated rotary switch on altitude. We can see the values that changing both in FsBusBeta2 s/w and in FS2002's MCP, but we can not see a value in 5 X 7Segment dispay. It is in CID1. I have confirmed that PIC was flashed and there was the 3001 in the begi…

Hello,Thanks to the (somewhat alarmist) recent article in Salon.com about flight simulators and terrorism, I discovered your amazing world of homebuilt cockpits! Ever since then I've been drooling over the homebuilt sim pix on the web that seem to be in no short supply... I participated in the design and construction of a crude driving simulator for my Master's thesis, but the flight sims you guys have constructed are absolutly amazing! I've been interested in aviation and simulation for awhile but after getting an idea of what's possible, have finally decided to get serious about it. Much to my wife's chagrin, I think I've found a new hobby...Although I have some experi…

This new version has made great leaps forward when it comes to the world environment. How is the new version working with digital projectors and your home cockpits ?I have become very frustrated with the lack of support that comes with our aircraft packages as each new release of FS comes out. So I'm thinking it's time to get serious about building that HC.Steve

Has anybody used Mini ITX before? Seems to be a perfect solution for running CDUs and other applications with somewhat low processor requirements. Everything is on-board, including RCA and s-video outputs. It's only like 7" in diameter and a few inches thick.http://www.mini-itx.com/Roberthttp://www.ProMFD.cjb.nethttp://www.777Project.cjb.net

Have been toying with the Idea of building a simple home cocpit for awhile and think I'm ready to try it. I just wanted to build a panel and overhead with laminated plywood. I have all of the Goflight modules already but not sure what else I need say if I wanted to try building the overhead switches what I need to do this. What controls the imput to the computer. Also if I decided to have displays in the panel what does every one use for those. (ie:type of monitors) Any help would be greatly appreciated. Not sure what to buy first to try to do this. Thanks

Here's the deal. Want to build a GA cockpit at home, the problem is that there's too many choices on how to interface all the controls for the cockpit. I have no idea what to go for, an old keyboard interface (keyboard bashing), all go-flight hardware, Hagstrom encoder? Plus the engine control quadrants: elite, PFC, or this kit:http://www.airplanestuff.com/products.html. If I go for all GO-FLIGHT there is no custom made controls, switches, etc. but all modules work with each other (no conflicts of hardware). On the other hand if I start from scratch, the cockpit will be fully customized but I'll have to get all switches, wire, wood, plastic, etc. Same for the control quad…

Is there anyone that can tell me where I can purchase either the blank (with etching and drilled holes) FSBUS PCB's? I'm in Puerto rico and it's kinda hard for me to get the pertinent parts and blank PCB's to make this on my own. Please mail me at [email protected] or [email protected]. Thanks in advance.

After a one year break, I finally started making updates to Pro MFD again. However, many new applications have been released since then. As some of you may have heard, Pro MFD will now be Donationware only. This means that all the synoptic displays will be "pay if you like". However, I don't want to spend hours and hours writing displays if nobody wants to use them. What I need to know is, who is interested in the various pro mfd synoptic displays. The displays that I am currently working on are as follows:B777B747A320B767-400 / B737NG (could easily modify the 777 instruments)If you are seriously considering using these synoptic displays, let me know and I will do my best t…

Hi,i'm a new user of fsbus2 and i'm looking to make my own PCBs to start making small add-ons for my FS. But i have many-many questions as tonight i made some tests with only the s/w with Fs2002, simulating in this way the router with cids and rotary encoders, switches etc.1)My first question is what the differnce between rotary1 & 2?The Rotary1 is a potentiometer and the Rotary2 an encoder? IF no, can i use rotery encoders?2)Using a rotary2 (in fsbus2 version) i can change (increase/dicrease) the decimal values (in step 25) for the stby Nav1 from .50 to .52 etc.I use also another rotary2 with step 1000 to change the digits before the decimal, but when chenging a valu…

Anyone know a U.S. source for "by the foot" flat ribbon cable? I've looked at Mouser but they only sell in 100 foot rolls. All I need is roughly 15 feet. Thanks,Richard

Anyone who build homemade rudder pedals, Yokes, or Throttle quadrants. Wouldn't you be more than kind to share your experience on the mechanical sturcture, wiring, or how did you come up with ideas or plans. Also, you could post your pictures on the progress or completion on this forum topic. Thanks

Not yet an adventure but I bought my first USB CH Flight Yoke a couple of days ago. First ever dedicated flightsim hardware. Iching to try it. I'm building a 'Platform' for the desk for it to rest on. The platform will give me the greatest flexibility to move it about (forward/back) as well hold it more securely in place (2 clamps well I'm thinking they aren't going to do?) I know this is a bit of a retrograde as it was this way before CH added the clamps. Not that I think they did a bad thing just that my desk is not the cockpit it could be with the yoke clamped on. I was hoping I could find some plans from the 'Old Days' of non clamped yokeness but it seems they have pe…

Hello everybody!Did anybody realise the radiopanel from a A320?Only 2 7-seg. display for active and standby freq.?thankspeter

Hi !I started building my own a320 home cockpit and I produced a little bit more PCB's than I needed by now ... So I'm selling it assembled. It is a re-design, so I could build them by my own hands. The functionality is exactly the same and the size is equivalent (Just a few modifications on the width of the connections). Here is the price that I'm seeling it:FS Com III US$ 30.00FSAD US$ 50.00 (with all the 8 potentiometer)Power SOurce ( up to 15V - you can adjust it and 3A) US$ 35.00I'm starting to build the other PCB's. And if anyone wants more PCB's I can sell it assembled .I'm sending some photos of my project with the customized fskey for the a320's MCDU.…

Okay, I had posted once before about how I was looking to start a GA simpit, and was curious about FSBus. Unfortunately, I'm still pretty confused about things.I'd like to make a radio stack that is very similar, if not identical to the Bendix/King stack they use in FS2k2. I realize that I can use FSBus to do this with relative ease. I have had some electronics experience, but for the sake of explanation, let's just assume I know nothing more than how to solder and read a schematic. How would I go about doing this radio stack? I am at a total loss for where to start. I have never even attempted anything remotely like this, involving designing my own boards and stuff l…

Ive just bought a small EL strip for backlighting. Id like to know how too and what to use to be able to switch it on and off from within the cockpit and also to adjust the brightness by turning a knob instead of just selecting a lower or higher voltage output on my powerpack.ThankyouGary
