I am looking for a place that sells 737 yokes. How hard would it be to create my own controls? I got it in my mind on how to create them its just how do I get them to feel like controls (resistance)? I am also wondering about one of a pfc jetliner yokes and attaching a 737 yoke to it. What do you guys think?

For all of you interested in a networked solution to display the Primary Flight Display, you will be intersted in this:http://www.aerosoft.com.au/pfd/As you can see, it's the same idea that the Project Magenta Software, with a similar quality, but very more cheaper...And the best of all, it's made by the Aussie guys of aerosoft, and it means that is fully compatible with their MCP hardware... and their incoming EFIS/EICAS...

Hello all of you, techniciansthe problem started when I loaded a new VGAcard (MSI Ti4800SE 8x) and a new power unit at my PC. From that time both my controlers, a CH yoke LE and a SideWinder precition2 joystick have the same problem. They both start with the throtle at the middle andI have to move it a little or push a button to come to normal. But the most serious prob is with the CH, because it freezes after a while and FS freezes with it too (I can see it in the control panel too),so I have to unplug it and plug it again, but after a while the same.Microsoft replaces the j, but CH does not because unfortunately I made once a little hole at the back side of the device. …

Hi everybody.I am about to start construction, not of a cockpit, but rather a few helpfull electronics. But there are some options out there and I'm confused as to which might be the best for my needs. So I thought to put down 'my' specs and ask you for your opinion and help.First of all, I will not make any complete cockpit. Unfortunately I do not have the room and money for that.I will be using only one single PC so each of these components will have to work with eachother. What I am planning to build are the following.1. COM/NAV Panel.I think the best solution for will be FSBUS. I fly a lot online so auto-changing of the RogerWilco room when the COM frequency is changed …

The kit from www.flightdecksolutions arrived a few weeks ago and I am looking for ideas from the group as to how to make autothrottles. My wish is to have the throttle levers track the autopilot when Autothrottle - IAS is engaged. Thanks!

Hi All,As a long time user of Squawkbox/PC(and now ASRC) with RW voice I am now thinking about how this will integrate into my (hopefully) mouse and keyboard free flight deck.Has anyone designed a system in which selecting the appropriate frequency on the (physical) COM1 radio connects you to the appropriate ATC's Roger Wilco voice channel? Currently I double click the controller in the Squawkbox ATC list and it auto changes the radio frequency (for text) and joins me to the controller's voice room. Can this be done programmatically? I hate the thought of wiring a zillion switches and lights only to have to keep a laptop in the cockpit for the seemingly simple task of …

I have a Sony Vaio desktop with an AGP video card (nVidia). It is relatively new (Windows XP) and I just added two more video cards. One is a GeForce4 (MX I think), and the other is a generic OpenGL accelerated card. Both are PCI and work fine individually. However, I run into two problems when I install them together for multi-monitor.Firstly, the second monitor displays graphics very choppy. When I undock a window from MSFS and drag it to the secondary monitor (The GeForce4), the frame rate drops from almost 30 FPS to around 4 FPS.Also, I can only get two of the cards to work simultaneously. When I add the third card, the computer recognizes it, but will not use it or a…

  17. I was just at the Flightdeck solutions web site, and they're advertising Variable Rotary Selectors. I was wondering if they can be used in a gameport set up to control flaps. Would it act like 8 different switches, or is it more like a singe joystick axis? If it's like a single joystick axis, can it be used to control flaps? Here's the description from FDS:Variable Rotary SelectorSelectable steps, 2 to 12 positionswith 30 degree indexing

Hello everyone, First of all, I would like to apologize for my long absence from the AVSIM forum. I have been busy building and have been neglecting e-mails and discussions. Between simming, working and school, I have had very little time for sleep!! I have noticed that a lot of builders are using Hagstrom cards for the CDU. I would like to suggest that you look into using a plain keyboard emulator for this task. The Hagstrom cards are great units, but are best saved for places where macros and toggle switches are needed. Plus, there is nothing to program with a regular keyboard encoder and you can switch the unit to any PC effortlessly. A lot of people have been …

Hello fellow cockpit builders,I just visited the FDS site and man :-eek do they have great stuff!!I would like maybe in the future to make my own B737NG cockpit. But besides ordering the items that you need from FDS you have to build the frame for your cockpit and setup everything to let it work for 100%.Does anybody have some experience with building a 737NG frame? Is there something, a drawing, that i can use for building my frame? And also for the electrics and that kind of stuff?Hope to get some reactions from you guys!Regards and thanks!Guy Haalebos

Hi Guys,After some months of delay, I'm finally able to build a home cockpit:) Because I enjoy flying all types, it will be "loosely" based on a Boeing glass cockpit.First step is to build a decent main FS PC that will probably only run FS with external view.
