I just recently got the PFC JetLiner console (serial version) and yoke and pedals. PIC767 flys great using the controls and MOST of the avionics on the console but the MCP/AUTOPILOT functions don't work. (yet). Has anyone done and button programming using FSUIPC to translate the PIC767 keyboard commands to the console?? If this has already been done I would love to chat with whom ever did it and not reinvent the wheel.. Thanks, Mike B.

Well, I just finished my first throttle prototype, and I must admit...it's absolutely horrible :) My main complaint is with the pots. I bought some el-cheapo Radio Shack pots and they stink. I get all sorts of interference (I used shielded cable) but the worst part is the complete loss of linearity near the max/min turn. Any suggestions for some decent pots that don't suffer quite as much from this problem? My thought was to somehow use digital pots (like those in sidewinder joysticks) and switch to usb, but I don't know if thats drastic or even possible?! I would love to be able to achieve that sort of accuracy!I would love to hear any suggestions from people who'v…

I finally managed to assign a pot-meter to my flap control. I'm pleased about this, because now I can build a flap handle with 7 detents. Now I must decide if it is best to use a rotary pot connected with gears to the flap handle, or use a sliding pot connected with a rod to the flap handle. I intend to use the same system for both throttles and the spoiler as well (767 throttle quad).I would appreciate any words of wisdom, pictures, links or crazy ideas you may have on this. Thanks in advance,Kenny

Hi everyone, I made a display as described in FSDIGIT.zip ( 7 segment display linked to the parallel port ) but I am not able to display anything. When I run Testmax this msg pops up : " oops:429 ActiveX component can't create object". What am I doing wrong ?If somehow I could make this thing work, has anyone written codes to display, let's say, NAV 1 from FS2002 ?

Guys, Im trying to build some Helo controls. To that end I need some bronze bushings to make everything smooth. Anyone know where I can get bushes to suit M6 bolts here in the UK ? I'm having a real hard time finding any.

Hey, friends...There I was sitting, with a plastic gear in my hand, and thinking about the Knitter up/down output rotaries, when it struck me:What if you put a knob on the gear, and let the gear swing a brass flag between two contacts? Turn right, you click-click against the Up contact. Turn left, the Down contact. The flap would also hold the gear in the middle (off) position, just like a detent.http://forums.avsim.com/user_files/6451.gifKev

Well I have been somewhat drawn in by FSbus & have now etched the ComIII board which is now ready for the components to be fitted, I found the Press-n-peel method using an iron worked fine, took me 2 goes to get the transfer satisfactory for the etch but I got it done. The press-n-peel sheets are available at Jaycar Electronics for anyone in Australia persueing this method. One thing I would be interested to know from any FSbus users, There is a noted Bus cable length of about 10CM for the PIC programming mode, I have come accross cable length probs when programming PICS before but I was wondering once a module is programmed does the cable limit still apply for normal o…

I have just built myself a set of throttles. Unfortunately, I soldered the wires backwards on one of them, and now I get reverse-action with the left throttle in flight. Do I really have to re-solder the wires, or will FSUIPC allow me to reverse the direction?Ken

For those that have used FSBus, how do you get past the following limits?- Five 7-segment displays: You need six for two COM, two NAV, ADF and XPDR. For AP, you'd need one more. Of course, a DME would require another. Or is the limit just for a display board where FSBus can have a maximum of six display boards per controller = 30 displays?- Eight A/D inputs: For a twin-engine piston, you need six for engine controls, three for yoke+rudder and two for toe brakes. Can FSBus be expanded?Oh, and does the FSBus software take care of synchronizing the state of FS to the state of toggle switches when starting the sim or switching planes? Thanks,Peter http://bfu.avsim.net/sigpics/P…

Hi all,Some of you ask to repost the electronic schematic for the reverse thrust. Unfortunately I've lost the image and haven't saved the schematic. But, I will do something better. I'll try to design a schematic for the complete throttle control along with relays control to lock the levers to several positions. Let's see what I can remember from electronics after about 15 years!Cheers,George DorkofikisAthens, Greece

Hi everyone, I'm making a cockpit panel which works as a keyboard emulator. At present - prototype basis - I have it connected to a 4-pole-2-way rotary switch that allows me to switch back and forth between the panel and a regular keyboard for those controls that aren't on the panel (Most of them, for the time being!). I've been warned by someone in my company IT dept though that such switching risks frying the computer and should be avoided. Can anyone point me to a source for a wiring diagramn to make a keyboard pass-through instead? Richard
