Hey everyone! I'm new to the Avsim forums but some of you may know me from the Simviation forums if any of you hang out there also. Well anyway here's my question. I was wondering if anyone here has ever attempted to build a Citation X. I've kinda been thinking about building one but I don't know how i'd go about making the five displays in the center of the cockpit. Let me know what you guys think. Thanks!Justin

All,I have posted my Aerosoft MCP on EBAY for sale. If any one is interested, you can check it out at http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...83&category=170Or just search on EBAY for "Flight Sim MCP". If anyone wants to buy it outright, I am selling it for $400. I got this unit at XMAS - it's in perfect condition except for 4 small holes in the top and 1 in the right side (for 1/4-20 screws) where it was mounted in my cockpit. Thanks -Mitch

It is unclear to me from the Hagstrom page as to how many inputs the KE24 unit has. It says 12 x 12 matrix, but I am pretty sure that doesn't mean 144 inputs! Could somebody fill me in please :-)Thanks,Robert

Hi all,Has anyone had a chance to play with the FS Real Time 1.60 release mentioned at the AVSIM home page? Seems this may be a viable solution to the problem of WideView clients getting out of sync with the server when flying with AI aircraft... Also - does anyone know if WideView will work with ACOF? Hope springs eternal!-mitch

First of all, thank you all for the wonderful feedback on the apps! Gratification is the greatest payment for freeware :-hah Over the past few years, I've received a LOT of e-mails asking to add features, relaying information on systems, asking for help, etc. I have set up a forum on the new Pro MFD home page where you can post such requests/input. This will act as an archive so that I can easily access all this information. Many requests are lost once they expire from my inbox, but forum threads are permanent. I hope you will all find interest in the new site, and I will try to get the newest builds uploaded in the next week. Once I figure out this fillrgn/floodfill …

Hi everyone,I was just looking at the pictures on http://mikkila.wabbits.org/fsbus/doc/photos_e.php and can't figure out how you could connect more than 4 key cards or 7 segment cards etc to the Com card. The com card has 5 10-pin plugs on it and one of those goes to the serial port, so that leaves 4 plugs. Then on the key cards or 7 segment boards they also have only one plug. I thought that you could daisy chain the boards together to reach the 32 card limit, so I must be missing something.Anyone care to enlighten? :)One other question...I'm compiling all the things I will need for the Com card on the mouser.com site and can't figure out what a 100n resistor is (From ht…

I must be doing something wrong...I am trying to fly the Airbus A320 from slab to slab using only the FMGC. The Project Magenta MCDU appeas to working flawlessly in all regimes except one. I cannot get the approach phase to activate and revert to MANAGED speeds (Vapp) for the approach. It appears to be stuck in the DESCENT phase all the way down. If I hit the Approach pushbutton, the MCDU kicks out, the line track reverts to dashed green and I am now on regular the Autopilot...this is OK but the MCDU is out of the picture and not doing anything. I would like to get the MCDU to handle the aircraft all the way down to the LOC and GS capture and ultimately to LAND, FLARE and…

My PC is directly connected to a Cable modem, i want to connect to my laptop and be able to share files would i replace the ethernet ports cable to the cable modem with a ethernet cable to the laptops ethernet port ? Or would i need some sort of hub to connect them together i do not necessarily want to connect to the internet with both. Hi everyone. I'm looking to build a GA cockpit, and I'd like to do an avionics stack that is pretty close to the Bendix/King setup they have in FS2002. I have a bit of electronics learning, but nothing really practical aside from testing and soldering and stuff. I saw a really nice looking setup at FSBUS, and I understand that is what everyone seems to use now, but I am totally at a loss for where to start designing my stack. I have no schematics or parts lists or anything to work off of. Is anyone else having the same problem? Or had the same problem and came up with a solution? I'd appreciate some input if you can help me please.-Jon

Hello,I'd like to take this opportunity to introduce myself to you all (my builder's resource), as I will undoubtedly have many questions as I begin my flightdeck. After 2 years of research, saving money, and convincing the wife (the hardest part), I've started construction on my Boeing Triple 7 and my pedestal is about 50 percent complete. I plan it to be a 2/3 Main Instrument Panel (No First Officer side).I have 3 computers and plan to use Project Magenta.Pentium III, 600MHZ, 256MB RAMPentium III, 400MHZ, 64MB RAM (Laptop, ie. no video acceleration)Pentium II, Not sure of MHZ or RAM but came with Win98 in 1998.I also have access to a first generation Pentium, 166 MHZ, ru…

  19. I was looking for a cheapish solution to increase the size of my 17" monitor and have seen a 26" Fresnal screen which is placed in front of the monitor. Does anyone currently use such a device and if so how do they find the resultant picture? What degree of degredation in sharpness etc is experienced? I don't want to waste money if it is not worth it.Regards,Stuart Hyett

I have assembled an FDS Boeing CDU and am offering it for sale. All buttons have been completely assembled, the sides have been paint matched and the layers have been bolted together. I haven't even removed the protective plastic film from the buttons yet (which is why the buttons aren't very legible in the pictures below). The unit is basically brand new and is ready to be wired. This unit took QUITE a while to assemble. Asking price is $290... pretty good for a FULLY assembled unit. This unit does not include light diffuser. If you are interested, feel free to contact me at: [email protected]://t-b-x.com/prather/777project/NewPro...te13f_large.jpghttp://t-b-x.com/pr…

All,I have a significant amount of GoFlight units that I want to sell, as I am moving toward doing real switches, etc. using EPIC or otherwise...I have modified the appearance of the GoFlight stuff (paint and decals) to more accurately reflect true aircraft instruments. Functionally they are straight out of the factory. This equipment varies in age from a little over a year old to 3 months old.You can see an example of the modification of a GF-45 at my website (http://www.mmorrell.com).I have the following units for sale:3 GF-45 - 1 modified to be XPNDR, 1 as ADF and one unmodified.4 GF-166 - COM1 COM2 NAV1 NAV26 GF-T8 - Various aircraft switches, grouped locially toget…

Hi all,This is such a great resource site for anyone interested in FS and simpits... I have learnt more in one day than what I did since a few weeks.I am planning to start a 737NG or A320 simpit and was wondering if anyone else knows of one built in India before? Maybe I will be the first in this country... :-) Also, getting hardware like stuff from PFC is nearly impossible (physically and economically) in India and I was happy to at least find an EPIC distributor. FSBUS also sounds like a great idea, if I can get all the ICs. I am currently reading ALL the discussion threads on this forum, but if anyone could send me startup specifics or stuff I should watch out for, it …
