Hi!!in Fs2002 there are 2 Coms, but as i know only the Com1 is active in communication via text with ATC in online flights with sqbox. What can we do with Com2? As i know in the near future with the upcoming s/w for voice with sqbox ver3, we will have the fuction to change the freq to Com1 and it will change also in voice s/w. Do you know how can work to have Com1 for ATC communication in text and voice and Com2 for Weather Atis (Fsmeteo?) and private communications either for intercom or another voice channel?ThanksEddie ArmaosAthens-Greece

Here's a company that makes PCBs. http://www.expresspcb.comThey supply a free software program to draw PBCs. You can even calculate the cost online. Unfortunately you can't import the FSBUS PCBs files. The boards have to be drawn using their software.Richard

Hi!Planning for a future intercom system. I just wonder if there is anyone who has built this.My idea is that both pilots use headsets, regular computer headphones with microphones. These should be connected and the pilots can hear their own voice and each other. Radio comm (Roger Wilco ATC, instructor station, etc.) should be heard for both pilots and 2 push to talk buttons (ptt) should isolate of one of the microphones, depending of which of the buttons that is pressed. Also volume controls for intercom chat and for radio comm.Example:Pilot A talks to and hears Pilot B in the intercom with adjustable volume. ATC talks to both Pilots, but only the pilot who presses the P…

Anyone knows where to find sites or info on what the difference is between all these IC's and how we can interface them and how they work etc etc etc.Would be nice to get some "rooky" info.

So, here are a few photos of my pedals-in-progress.Here's the first stage and basic idea: http://tigert.gimp.org/vatsim/cockpit-stuf...alien_jatko.jpgYou can see they are rather inspired by the Antonov AN-2 pedal mechanism (see airliners.net and search for "AN-2 cockpit" and you find a few pics) - and also PFC pedals share some ideas with them. So after a bit of pondering I decided to go ahead and see if the thing would work out. Everything is from the basic hardware store, some bolts, nuts, nylon washers (bread cutting board :)) and plywood, plus some aluminium profile.I think this might actually work well. I just need to figure out the centering mechanism. Probably meta…

Hi,i was trying my first FsBus's display unit and it works fine. Now i'm looking for my MCP and COMMs displays smallest 7-segments, as the default circuit supports big ones. I think the real aircraft's displays are not so big. It's difficult to find them here in Greece. Does anyone knows where can i find almost real size 7-segmentes in an online store in Europe or USA that are working with default FsBus circuit, or others the are similiar and can work with small modifications in FsBus circiot for displays? Thanks Eddie Athens-Greece

Hi,Last March, there was a post on the 'other' cockpit builders forum from a guy from Indonesia that had build a simple MCP using logic ICs (4066, 74xx etc). He provided the schematic for free along with the program to communicate with it. The design looked great and he claims that it costed him around $75. But he did not provide any PCB drawings. As I think it may worth building it and testing it, I wonder if anyone has already made any PCBs for it. And if so if he/she (do we have any gals here?) is willing to share the PCB design. Thanks!George DorkofikisAthens, Greece

Hi all,Could someone out there make me a simple bgl. file for FS9 to help me set my eye point out of the cockpit. A simple post with a red triangle 12ft or so off of the ground would be great. I know of no other way to accurately set the height as viewed from a 737 cockpit. Thanks,Rob

Hello Guys, I've been gone from here a while. Been very busy working on this:http://www.simkits.com/builderken.phpThe picture is not complete, I have added a lower panel with Magneto key switch and lights, battery, alternator and parking brake controls. It is now completed and up and running with FS2002. I am working on the FS2004 Conversion and planning to add 2 more monitors for left and right cockpit viewsKen Peckham CEOB&B Sim Technologies"We put you in the left seat"[email protected]

Hello - apologies for the obvious question. Despite the incredible wealth of information available I cannot seem to find a site which simply and accurately presents the basic measurements and dimensions for the common commercial aircraft cockpits (eg, A320, B767 etc.). If anyone knows of a good site with, say, the B737's cockpit plans I'd be most grateful.I'm in the process of contemplating a B7xx cockpit, using some of the available 3rd party panels and glass gauges, but can't even find the basic sizes of components (e.g., how far does the glare shield extend over the MIP?, How wide is the center pedestal ? etc.). Most perplexing. Any help appreciated.Paul L.

I'm using digi-pots with my hagstrom card and i end up with a rather positive result to change heading for eg.The problem however is that if i turn one way i can turn fast/slow, works fine.If i turn the other way i have to turn rather slowly and very steady speed. Otherwise it ends up increasing the heading again.Has anyone had something like this ? Is this due to the quality or type of rotary encoder ??Or should I just live with this situation ?

can anyone tell me where to find plans to build a throttle quad for twin engine prop (piston) for use with FS2004.

Well, I've been lurking around these forums for a year and a half and I finally decided it was high time to pull the equipment together into a home cockpit. Today - with any luck - I'll be getting the PFC Cirrus II console to go along with my GoFlight equipment.I'm a big fan of Flight1's Cessna 421C, so I thought I'd shoot in that direction. Attached are a couple of mockups of the planning stages.I'll also have some CH products laying around (jet throttle, yoke, pedals) possibly for making additional controls.I just wanted to thank everybody who's been posting their ideas here as it's been great fun and very motivating.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/33853.jpghttp://fo…

I got this tube from leftovers at the local water something company ... you know ..

Just about to start building a generic 2 jet cockpit (Sept) using mostly GoFlight stuff. However I have one question (2 questions at the moment.1 I have bought 3 15" monitors on Ebay for the flight displays (I already have a projector for the scenery) do they have to be SVGA or are VGA ones ok?2 I am currently using the PFC 2 jet throttle quad. while wating for the release of the GF one. Is there a way of disabling the PFC landing gear knob, at the moment it is overiding my GF landing gear?3 Did isay 2?I have never managed to get the PFC throts to balance throughout their full travel despite FSUIPC and PFC software, any ideas?Thanxfor any replies.flyerian

Hello all,New to this forum and as the rest of you, have grand plans for a home cockpit set-up. Given the piecemeal approqach I'll have to take for budgetary reasons, it makes sense that the first component to start with should be the rudder pedals. What are the best rudder pedals my money can buy for under $500?And if those won't be good enough for when my cockpit begins to mature in a couple more years, what's the best I can get for under $1,000? (Only want to buy the pedals once, no matter how my cockpit is modified and upgraded over the years, but can't see myself spending more than $1,000 ever to do so). Thanks in advance,Barry

I have an old ATC 510 desktop IFR simulator. It's been FAA approved for many years.Question (and I've been waiting to ask it for 15 years- I think the time may be right): Does anyone know of a way to interface the ATC 510 with MSFS?Thanks,Barry

Hello all,Has anyone built an analog Input card for FSBUS yet?I would like to know if it performs equal to or better than a USB joystick as far as the throttle, eleveator, & Aeilorn inputs ar concerned. Thanks for any feedback.Sean W.

I am still not sure who's wright. Here's what I want to know; Does the 10CM cable lenghth applies to RS232 cable from PC to COM board?Or,Cable from COM board to say, FSBUS KEY, LED, DO... etc. during flashing?ThanksSean W.
