I'm replacing my existing flat A340 Main panels with the new A340 3D Panels from Flightdeck Solutions. I requested the raw piece so I can save some money and do the detail myself. I thought I would show some Pics of what I did.It was quite simple, I was able to trim the pieces with a heavy duty scissors and then do the detail with an exacto knife. When cutting with the knife, I took my time and went over the same cut several times till I went through the material. I then used 220 count sandpaper and sanded the rough edges. I painted the panels with Plasti-Kote custom Formula spray paint. It took two coats and a good 24 hours for it to dry.I'm very pleased with the o…

Ok I have access to a complete MD-80 Panels made for an FTD that was cancelled, parts where machined by the avionics manufacturer and cost over $14,500 to be produced!! It includes every switch and light, also all of the clocks (analogue gauges:)) Asking price is $1500 + shipping for the complete thing and the price is negotiable!! Excellent way to start a project for a hands on flying plane not an automatic guy even perfect for a school or for training and great for a cockpit Project!!!Please mail me at [email protected] if you are interested I

Hello !I am looking for building my own cockpit using a FSBus system but I have some questions :The "standard" FSCOM III card has only 4 places to plug controllers into it. Is it the maximum or can I use more controller cards with only one FSCOM ? How many controllers ?In fact, I need a lot of switches and Displays, so, I would like to know if I will need many FSCOM or only one. Please help me.Thanks !DavidNewbie to cockpit building ;-)

Well I have a load of knitter switches ready to mount but have come accross a problem.I cannot seem to find any of the electronic stores here that carry the mounting nuts that will screw onto the switch, believe it or not the switches don't come with nuts, so if you order them make sure you order nuts too !Looking at the spec sheet the nut is specified as an M7 x 0,75 It should be what they call a half nut (low profile) & I think the M7 means metric, dunno what the 0,75 means ?Would anyone out there know where I could source these here in Australia or does anyone have a bag of them that they would like to sell.I have tried RS-Components, Farnell, Jaycar & DickSmit…

Hi all. Last night I gutted a Gravis Destroyer USB Joystick to use the axes for additional controls. I've onlu implemented one so far, and I have a problem. I set the sticks "Throttle" control to the elevator trim. It controls it OK, but it's very jittery. Movement seems to be nice and smooth - but when I leave the control alone, the indicator on the panel dances up and down visibly. I've tried messing with the sensitivity settings, but no joy. Any suggestions how to calm this down ?Richard

Hello Everyone,I was hoping if someone could help me with some FSBUS capacitors questions. I'm fairly cluey when it come to electronics but I'm not too sure about this one.I've seen a few component lists for constructing your FSBUS and they recommend certain types of capacitors. In Australia, I guess the best company for buying components is Farnell. The voltage rating mention in the components lists (eg. 35V) at 1uF do not exsist but in 50V they do. Is this an issue? Is there a problem using ceramic radial capacitors instead of Electrolytic Radials? In the Farnell Catalogue they also mention non-polarised capacitors, would there be any issue using those?I've made a price li…

Does any of the products frome Flightdecksolutions.com come assembled? (i.e the Overhead panel, pedestal, aft overhead, forward instruments)i mean are they just the panels or are they assembled with buttons, switches and so on??? ALso how would i hook up a complete overhead panel or or pedestal to my FS2002 to make it work properly and completely? One more thing... Whats a better thing to do? Buy rudder pedals or make them? I know it depends on budget but i dont have a lot of time so what would be more economical? Thanks all you guys have all been great help to me :)

I just got an idea how to make a nice radio stack and I though to share it with you.Have you ever thought that the a couple of old, unused or mulfunctioning CDROM drives can come handy?I am thinking of using the CD drive housing and a 5.25" metal rack from an old PC case for my radio stack! With the main mechanism and PCB removed, the metal case can be then have a plastic front panel with the displays and control, and also house the FSBUS display PCBs.It would be great for mobility and modularity!George DorkofikisAthens, Greece

Dears,After several month I finally decided to sell all the real Instruments I have since it will be impossible for me to achieve the complete real instrument cockpit I expected to build. It costs too much time and my job does not allow me that time.In order to get a cockpit running in less time I have to go the Magenta way with an FDS Panel or something like that.So thats the list of the Instruments I have:1. Two 5 Inch ADIS. Both are from fighters. One is amazingly absolutely new. Both are empty of all originalmotors and partially equiped with RC Servos.2. One HSI of an F15 fighter. Has not been modified yet.3. Two RMI. One partially modified ( B727) and one still origi…

Does anybody have a clue?TT

IM REALLY CONFUSED (sry all im really slow) about some of the Project Magenta software. I dunno how to word this (yes im that confused!) IM looking into buying most of my avioniics stuff from project magenta such as PFD, ND, EICAS, Standby instruments, MCP, and CDU from them. But heres the problem, im wondering if the MCP and CDU are actualy panels that i can install or are they like regualr flight simulators where its just a cartoon type thing thats on a computer screen that u use the mouse to select things. (I guess im just trying to figure out if its an actualy panel that i install directly in my sim or if its a cartoon type deal) Also with the Engine displays and PFD,…
