Hello all,A few days ago I was testing my FSBus cards to interact with Project Magenta MCP at a friend's house, but we got strange results. The rotaries didn't cause the effect they're supposed to in the MCP's HDG and/or ALT digit windows. Not even by using the virtual rotaries in the FSBus software.Anyone know how to do this? Thanks in advance.P.S. Does anyone have abrief explanation on how to use the FSClient, FSFinder, etc features of FSBUS? what is that for?

Hi all, I have recently got a job working on sheet metal cnc machine tools, and as a project I am building the case for a 747-400 fmc, which one fine day I hope I will be able to use with ps1. I am a qualified electronics engineer, and I now have access to laser cutting machines and punch presses, as well as mild steel by the ton, what I dont have is the plans for the fmc case, or any dimensions for the keyboard layout. Any info would be much appreciated, and if any uk simmers want anything cut from steel between now and christmas I may be able to help! regards, anthony croshawp.s. please email me with any plans, at [email protected],cheers!p.p.s any help with the el…

Check out my auction for the 737MCP that is backlightable and is from AGT panels. Includes 6 rotary encoders! One is an optical encoder. A Blueside-up encoder module that coverts to the rotaries to interface with the hagstrom. It needs a new face plate that cost 40.00 but that's it. Works well and I have over 300.00 in it! http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...item=2440922912

Did quite a bit of work on the cockpit this weekend. Here are pix from a few minutes ago (digital camera is really getting grainy looking lately). Hope to have updates on the site within the next couple of weeks to explain what I did.First is a day shot, then night, then night with the panel lit from under the dashboardhttp://webpages.charter.net/n299ft/images/Progress/day.jpghttp://webpages.charter.net/n299ft/images/Progress/night.jpghttp://webpages.charter.net/n299ft/images/.../nightlight.jpg

Has anyone thought of this idea ?How about having the same program but only this option in it:you get 1 key that you can assign and whenever you press it (or a combo) the LCD will show other data ..this way you could use a 2x20 LCD to show all kinds of data and have 1 button in your cockpit for toggeling between the pages ..If I'd know how to "talk" to such an LCD, I'd make such a program (i know how to do all other things like get data from fsuipc and send data to lpt ..)U think the author of this program would want to make an update ? Or should it be faster to make it myself ?

Take one stupid Finnish guy, give him a cad-software and milling machine and what you get. Troubles...Well. For first. This project is not ready yet. I just have throttle handles. Not even reverses are ready yet. But i got quite good response for my gear handle, so here we go again.I have thinked how to make good throttles. And with reverse what you can't use until throttle is in idle. I got license for SolidWorks what is 3D cad and it have motion possibilities with collision detection. Easy to see how mechanism works. This is what i got with CAD. Notice, that there is missing parts. There is no screw holes. Missing axles and so on. But you can see basic construction.http:…

Just noticed that on the front page of the Lifestyle & Entertainment section of today's Houston Chronicle (Friday, 10/24/03), there is a nice article - with a couple pictures about Robert Prather and his 777 simulator. If anyone is interested, here is a link to the story: A Boeing in his bedroomMichael

HiDirk have now included the DME in the FSBUS.If you use the DME, you get the value for example 999 mil. by 99.9, but without the decimal period.I have solve that with the FSBUS DO, if the value is lower than 999 the decimal period in the display is going on, and higher its going off.A little hard to explain, but i hope your understand.RegardsFinnDenmark

Hi all! This question comes up every once in a while, but i haven't seen a full answer yet... So: Because there are good resources about the 737 _PANEL_DIMENSIONS_ at simpits.org, lets add the other dimensions of the flightdeck that remain a dark secret in the society ;-)Add what data you can gather, and I'll sum it all up in a nice searchable thread message that can be referred to in the future.Measurements I'm interested in for the 737NG flightdeck:Height dimensions;floor <-> lower main panel:floor <-> MCP front:floor <-> front of forward overhead panel:floor <-> back if forward overhead panel:floor <-> front of aft overhead panel:floor <…

Hi Everyone,I've taken the plunge and gone ahead with producing the FsBus System. I've made the COMIII & Key board but didn't decide to make the PCB's. Instead i've made them from Vero boards and I'm pretty sure its wired correctly. I did find a couple of mistakes at first but they have been fixed up. The issue is the read after write failure again.I'm getting the right voltages on the IC's but the MCLR voltage (16F84 Pin 4) I'm only getting 12.14V. Would this affect the operation of programming? I'm getting 5V at all specified points in the schematic and from the Troubshooting page in Flash mode including Pin 12 & 13 on the PIC.I'm getting 5V from the 7805 and 14…

Has anyone come across the problem when setting up the ADF in FSBus with a display & rotary that you get some funny characters appear on the actual flightsim radio stack while tuning.I am using the FSBus 2b2 release, I do know that this problem was observed with the transponder settings too but it looks like that is fixed now in this release.Thats all thats stopping me from completing a fully functional stack now.Any ideas how to fix it ?Cheers Glenn.

Its been a while since I updated my cockpit building pages......but yesterday I uploaded quite a bit of new stuff, for example my tests of how to make cheap MCP switches for my 747-400 MCP. I believe that the switches used on the real thing are from Korry. The Korry 389 Series seems to me the right one. Here's a link to the datasheet which has all the dimensions:http://www.korry.com/PDF/Korry_389.pdfAnyway, heres a picture of the switch I made. Its still missing the actual pushbutton.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/45895.jpgMy homecockpit building homepage:http://cockpit.varxec.deMCP Switch gallery:http://cockpit.varxec.de/panels/switches.htmlPS: I'm trying to collect i…

Can anyone tell me how to make a simple external setup to display and control FS2004's radio and autopilot functions? What software and hardware do I need? I'm interested in functionality vs. appearance. Thanks in advance.

Hi,Does anybody out there have any experience with Force Feedback mechanics and hardware/software.Currently, my column is balanced with gas springs and hydraulic dampers. It's nice, but not enough for someone willing to flight by hand all the time.I have the idea of using electric actuators, but does not have any experience how to drive it with which kind of electronics or could Servo Motor with strong torques be usefull too ??? But how much torque ??? I am actually a bit lost. Thanks in advanceBest regardsRogerAttached a pictures of my Short360 yoke-column and an update of my almost restored pedestal ( also Short360)

I'm testing out the FreeFD software and have successfully configured my instrumentation PC to boot, launch the software and run ALL without intervention from (except for pressing the power button, of course ;)).This is important because this PC will be buried in the dash of my flight deck, and I don't want to touch the mouse or keyboard, and I don't want to use VNC to control it remotely. The problem?Windows places the mouse pointer in the middle of the screen on bootup. This has two effects: 1 - it's positioned on top of my EICAS display. 2 - If the mouse is over the window being rendered, its frame rates drop... seriously.I've removed the mouse completely (physically) …

All,I have a Second Officers seat from a 727 for sale. It is in perfect condition - fully articulated (up, down, left, right, fore, aft) and has the complete 5-point harness. This is the seat originally intended for my sim, but I have since found two seats from a Gulfstream that better represent the seats in a King Air.I offer it to you guys at $150 plus shipping (probably another $150). That's what I paid for it. If interested let me know - otherwise in a week or so I am going to list it on EBay.
