After crosschecking my collected data of the Main Overhead Panel of the 747-400, I am pretty sure I've got it now to a point where I think this is exactly the size the real overhead panel is.The drawings are available in different formats at:http://cockpit.varxec.de/plans/Here is a thumbnail of the drawing:http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/49985.jpgEnjoy,Manuel

I have no knowledge what so ever about electronics. Judging by various screen shots and forum topics about backlighting, the way to go is with white LEDs.I had no idea where to start but the following website came to my rescue. I thought I would share it with those people who also need some simple information/instructions.Regards,Darren SugdenP.S. Building an A320 cockpit with the Elite panels from cockpitsolutions. I must say I am extreemly impressed both with the quality of the product and the great support shown by Peter Cos.The website is:http://www.white-leds.co.uk/led-wiring-guide.htm

Ok I decided to post this in case anyone wanted it or not. It is a zip file with a PCB I created for the FSBUS display module for a 3 display board like you would have on your HDG, CRS, etc. This was my solution for the problem of trying to usea smaller digit LED display instead of the big ones that are compatible with the PCB in the Display zip file. I am going to start work on a 4 and 5 segment board right away and I will post my results to the forum once I get a working copy together. This PCB is good for Fairchild p/n MAN4440A LED Displays. There was another p/n that cross referanced I think but I don't remember it right off hand. Also in the zip file is a readme file…

Hi guys, just me again.I'm still having issues running rotary encoders.I've found out that the standard rotary encoder I'm using is off in the detent position. Will this cause an issue with REDec?If you haven't guessed I am still having problems with running REDec.I tried getting pricing on Knitter switches but they work out to be around $8 each australian then you add on shipping! I have tried a Knitter thanks to Glenn Weston and it works perfectly!I tried making the 2 ganged 12 position rotary switches but with no success either. I'm comming to my wits ends comming up with a rotary switch for tuning !PLEASE HELP!!!!Kind Regards,

I've done quite a bit of homework on this subject, but I cant quite get a conclusive idea of what I should pursue.I have a XP2800 processor, and 512MB DDR RAM. What I ideally want is 3 monitors -- one center, one center-left and one center-right. I'd also like to run a smaller monitor for main instruments. Isn't this possible with FS9's ability to simply undock a window and drag it to the appropriate monitor? I hear from some that usually this hits framerate too much.I also hear from some that have a Matrox Parhelia that this is quite possible. But I don't hear much from those who have tried it with non-Parhelia cards.Any opinions? Thanks!Jack

Guys, I know this issue has been going on over and over. But what I would like to know if there are any schematic, or circuit diagram that can be similar as the EPIC's 32 digit display module? I know FS-BUS create it, but since I am in USA, It'd be much better if I could obtain any part from US that can create digit works coming from FS2004 program. Let me know if you can helpMuch appreicated

Does anyone know where I could find some good measurements/ plans of the 737 yokes? Preferably something in 1:1 or half scale. Is this something worth building myself or are the commercial products the way to go?ZK-SHB

Has anyone bought one of these? Can you recommend it?From what I've seen on the site sounds brilliant but as I've had no replies to my emails to them and the site seems a little broken I wondered if anyone has bought one recently and how did they find it.ZK-SHB

Ok folks, listen up. There's a 727 CPT in Minnesota that is going to gofor a song (maybe even free!).Check it out:http://www.simpits.org/~geneb/727cpt.htmlThis would make the ultimate "starter" for a home cockpit builder! It wouldn't take much to interface this monster to a PC.Keep it from being destroyed and ground up for scrap!g.

HiI got an e-mail from somen who asked me if I could make the DesktopModule I show on my website. And how much it would cost.I did some calculations and if I would make 1 only then it would cost around 160 euro. This price however could be reduced a bit if there were others that were interested too.All I need to know is if there are others that might be interested and most important, am I allowed to just make these and sell ? And am I allowed to advertise this on the net ?I think the best idea is to see how many modules I can make from 1 part of material (PVC-plate) and then gather that much people and make them. If then there are others, wait till I got that much peo…

Hi guys. I am working on a small & simple cockpit using GoFlight gear and CH yokes (low budget). It seems to me like two TVs might be the best option for my 'outside' displays. Even 27" TVs are only about $200-$250 new, and a scan converter is..$150?Two of those is still under $1000 - much less than a projector! Is it possible to run both TVs off of the same computer? It seems to me that if I get one of the 2xDVI GeForce 5600s... I can use DVI to VGA adapters, and then VGA scan converters.Pros & cons of this arrangement? I've heard the image quality isn't so good, but if it's an outside view, it doesn't matter as much, does it?

Here's some pics I took today of my new FDS 777 panels by Peter Cos. The lettering is hard to read in the daylight but i think once the LED's are in it will be perfect. The panels are of awesome quality. I can't wait to get the MIP next.I just thought you'd like to see these. I'm not the best picture taker as you can see.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/51286.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/51287.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/51288.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/51289.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/51290.jpg

A picture of a B777-300 from boeing with a pc in the cockpit. In the front left you see a place for future lcd's. The new KLM 777-200 has a electronic flight bag with jeppesen approach maps. I think that will be projected on that place.I hope the pc is just for testing. (fatal blue screen on final)Norbert Boschhttp://www.airliners.net/open.file?id=3235...D%3D&static=yes

Hi all,my name is John and i live in Athens Greece. Its the first time where i post a message in this forum and i beleave this is the ideal place for the cockpit-builder to find and give answers.I have build the FsBus Com,Key and Led PCBs and i want to make a CDU unit.I use for the display of the CDU a Black/White CRT monitor that i rip from a little and cheap movable TV.The monitor is connected to the TV-out of a Gforce256 and the tests with the demo of Project Magenta CDU ,in full screen mode, was ok.Using the FSfinder and a small number off buttons connected to the Key PCB i make the tests for all the buttons on the Project Magenta CDU. Well , here is the question, …

Hello all,Has anyone been able to adjust the kollsman window setting according to the QNH with FSBUS? (FS2004)When I try that, by using a switch object, as soon as I touch it the Altimeter starts going up like crazy, and I can't stop it. Can it be done? Can a rotary be used? Thanks for any info,R.C.
