Can anyone recommend one? I'd like to be able to design a totally new panel as well as modify the standard ones that come with FS. I have the FS Edit SDK but it seems quite limited. Thanks in advance for your help.Danny

Simavionics have authorised me to provide a preview of their upcoming 757/767 Replica Throttle Quadrant. http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/56045.jpgThis is a heavy duty unit that features a full die cast metal casing, base, levers and handles. The electronics are supplied by Betainnovations, a company run by Leo LaClava. Leo is one of the premier developers of USB electronic components for FlightSim hardware. For durability MIL SPEC Potentiometers are used throughout. For me the best part about this product is the price. $349 US + Shipping. This is cheaper than the Go-Flight Unit.Simavionics plan to be launching their website over the next few days. I will be one of the 1st…

Hi,After having pushed since months several companies to make a remote Glasscockpit of the first generation, Enrico followed and did it.I bought it yesterday. It works great and fits several type of cockpits. I will use it on my generic turboprop cockpit using FDS MD80 3D MIP. I believe that I am not the only one who was anxiously waiting for that kind of cockpit.See attached pictures.RegardsRogerhttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/56335.jpg

They have a new board called a Rotary 5 that let's you connect (yep, you guessed it) 5 rotary encoders and outputs them as a pulse that can them be used with their keyboard encoders. I have a KE72 and was thinking about trying one and was just wondering if anyone else had tried them yet? Also, does anyone have any plans, dimensions, etc for a generic general aviation cockpit? I'm starting to build one and am open for suggestions. Many thanks in advance,Danny Mullins

I've got a Suncom HOTAS set and understand that it will in fact work under XP using the button programming alone.I also have a Sitecom USB/Gameport adaptor and can get the stick axis to come through but not the buttons.Anyway, firstly, any advice on using the Suncom setup under XP would be great. This is for a generic single seat simpit.Secondly, anyone converted a set (or any other gameport equipment) to work via USB natively? I'm thinking of hacking a USB stick or two and using the board and connections within the Talon and throttle - would like to be able to use the bottom two switches on the throttle (currently only usable to switch program banks). Anyone used the pla…

I have picked up a number of rotary encoders for wiring up to my epic card. The 45 degree ones have a single pole in the center and then a number around the outside. With each click a circuit will appear from the center to one of the outer pins. Pretty straight forward. So, I now have the 30 degree type. They have 3 pins in the center and then 12 around the outside. This is where it is getting weird. It seems that all three pins in the center make a circuit to one of the outer pins at each stop. So I have the following:Lets call the pins in the center CP1, CP2 and CP3And the outer pins OPHere is the circuits at each of the 12 positions for the switch:Position CP1…

Here are some previews of a project I've been working on since summer. They aquired much of my old hardware while I have been aquiring some *interesting* hardware for my own sim :-)http://www.t-b-x.com/prather/777project/Ne...d/AirHolly2.jpghttp://www.t-b-x.com/prather/777project/Ne...d/AirHolly3.jpghttp://www.t-b-x.com/prather/777project/Ne...d/AirHolly1.jpghttp://www.t-b-x.com/prather/777project/Ne...d/AirHolly4.jpghttp://www.t-b-x.com/prather/777project/Ne...d/AirHolly8.jpghttp://www.t-b-x.com/prather/777project/Ne...d/AirHolly9.jpgI still have some updates to make, like the dark brown trim, the lower EICAS, etc. Some parts, like the seats, were lent from my sim in exc…

I have been browsing your forum with some interest for some time now. I have noticed that many of you have problems with obtaining Kitter rotaries and also that the ALPS rotaries are very expensive. I also have been bogged down with this problem. It appears that the only solution is to the redec09b design by Leo. However I have noticed that this circuit only produces a pulse output once every 2 detents when using an "Incremental" rotary encoder switch (that is the theory anyway!). I was wondering if any of you have also noticed this problem. I am currently working on a new encoder board that will solve this problem. i.e. one detent, one pulse! I am interested in your comm…

Anyone can help me out here a bit ?I need to send a number like "0" or "1" etc to address 0x6620 in the memory ...I assume that this is a HEX number ? And that I need to take "6620" and make that DEC or OCT ?? and than put in in the fsuipc.ini ?But when I do that, still it don't work ..Plan is to make this perform when pressing a key in FS ..Little help from the programmers / fsuipc aces ??

Hi everyone, I know this has been asked before, but I thought I'd throw it out in case anyone's come across an answer...Has anyone ever found a wa to connect a regular VGA card's output to a stand-alone LCD scren, such as a pulled one from a laptop? Dead laptops, or just the screens for them, are dirt cheap, and would be perfect for built-in screens if someone could just figure out a way to drive them.Richard

Having started my project of a generic 2 jet c/pit I have come across a problem which some of you may be able to help. As an example I have bought 2 car seats and made box sections for the runners. Because I must be able to dismantle my project (mainly MDF) does anyone know of a fastening that will allow constant assembly/disassembly of "T" sections of MDF that are not too obstrusive?Regards and a Happy New YearIan

maybe I shouldn't post this in the cockpit builders forum but this is the only part of the avsim that i frequent so ..I got a situation and I hope I can solve this without a re-install of FS2002 ..When I'm in 2D panel view (only then) I have 20% of my screen that seems to do weird things. At first it is black but sometimes it has rastered patern and shows some weird things .. part of the outside view etc ..I have this same problem even if I change airplane, or whatever. Not in outside view, not in 3D view, not in tower view. Only with the panel. So I can't see the lower part of my panel. Only when i drag it up a bit I can see it .. but then my top 20% of my panel is outs…

Hi all,As you may have noticed from my signature, I am coming from a Mac background (although I was a PC Network Consultant in a past life), but I am looking into setting up a PC for gaming and simming. So, what version of Windows are the "hardware" simmers using? If I do get into Windows based simming, I will definitely want to get into the hardware / flightdeck building hobby soon after, and I want to make sure that I don't end up with a version of windows that may not be well suited to running the sim software and interfacing with hardwareCheers---John R. Hi,Anybody got this problem? Jitter in AD kart. For example a 100K potensiometer asigned throttle doesn't stabilize, and above %70-80 N1 lever begins travel much more rapidly and never stops even in idle.Where do I make mistake? Every component in PCB soldered corectly, even the 18K resistor(which has connection with yellow LED) replaced with smaller one (i.e. 1K8 or 1K) but the result has no relief.Settings in fs-roter leaved unchanged at defoults.Thank in advance.Remzi

hi everyoneI'm going to order my alps rotary encoders at elfa and I really would like to buy any other component I need now to avoid double shipping fees. I'm looking for some cheap(1-2 euros) switches, something like the switches you can see in this page: http://www.a340project.us/_wsn/page12.htmlit seems to be simple and cheap. Unfortunately I don't know how this kind of switches are named so I don't know what to look for. Can you please give me some advices? I'm also looking at nice knobs to use for my mcp. Any other advices on usefull items to buy at elfa are welcome (toggle switches, pushbuttons etc...)thanks
