Can anyone recommend a USB joystick which can be easily disassembled and allows pot replacement?I have a Logitech Wingman Attack USB joystick that I disassembled for use in my Airbus throttles. The pots are very small and according to an ohm meter, are not standard linear 100k ohm.I did replace the original pots with a 100k sliding pot. After much calibration in FS2004 and FSUIPC joystick sections, the throttle movements were still not linear and jumped rapidly from idle to full throttle. Can anyone recommend a good USB joystick that is easily disassembled and can accept 100k pots. Thanks,Richard

Hi All, I am just about to venture into the world of building parts to hook up to the FS. I have decided to start with a throttle because that is at the moment what I feel is nice trade-off between skills required and added simulation. I have tried to search the forum but those skills leave much to be desired.... I am looking for dimensions and other stuff that could help me make a B737 (preferable NG) throttle. I saw on some site that I can't remember now someone who had made an auto-throttle (i.e. one that moved in response to the autopilot feedback). Is that extremely difficult to make? Can the parts from a force feedback joystick be used to do this? So many questions,…

Hey all...Just checking in from the AVSIM conference in Reading... very cool!Enrico's GA instruments in the FDS Flight Centers absolutely wowed everyone... they look real- you have to get REALLY close to tell they're displayed on a monitor. And the Flight Centers are pretty cool in themselves. The pictures on the web sites really don't don't do them justice. There's a display by a new company named Up Front Simulations that has a panel with some pretty cool looking instruments driven by stepper motors. They weren't running because of a failed HDD, but they should have it running today. They had originally planned to sell their system as a complete unit for PCATD, but t…

Hi All...is it possible to plug in 2 USB CH yokes to a PC running FS and use these as your captain's and co-pilot controls i.e. when captain lets go co-pilot has control and vice versa. I don't know if FS will recognize 2 at once...many thanks....JB

HI all! Will build my first panel prototype this weekend.Decided to try the "dual printed layer" method. I have started with the EFIS because its quite small. Here is a small jpeg of the panel.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/39291.jpgthe panel is 120mm * 70 mm.I will do 2 prints, one for light masking, OH-plastic to let light through, and one front for actual panel color and text. Will post the banel files in corel draw format on my web page as they are done...Will post pics of the panel when its backlit.Cheers!/ Olle

Tonight, with all valuable info a had from this forum (thanks to all of you), i made an experiment. And it was success, as i made the Rotary Encoder to work with FsBus and PM.How? Simple by emulating keyboard commands and not by sending fsuipc offsets.Yes, I know, Dirk said that is working on it and for sure we will have, (i hope soon), good news from him about this. But i was looking at least for a safe point to begin and i tryed with rotary encoders, Redec, FsbusKey to send to active PM's MCP program the "F5" or "F6" keyboard commnads to increase/decrease the heading and it's wokring fine, without loosing them in the same PC with Fsbus. I didn't manage to make also in…

I just updated my web site. Added the first article in the 'How to' section, regarding a complete tutorial on how I create my panels. The tutorial contains the complete building process of a Boeing Radio Tuning Panel based on B767-400. I also added a page on the tools used to create them.RobBoeing Cockpit Projecthttp://home.hccnet.nl/r.v.d.wiele/index.htmlhttp://home.hccnet.nl/r.v.d.wiele/Images/Finished_2.jpg

It took me a good little while to get to it, but I finally got a site up for my GA home cockpit project. It's pretty sparse on details at the moment, but I'm hoping to change that over the next few weeks.http://webpages.charter.net/n299ft/

Ok, I've decided to try and build(for a start) a NAV/RADIO panel for the 737NG.Just gonna take it one step at a time. But to get started, what do I need?I assume I'll need the following, but where to get them and what to do witht them??:Rotary's: where? What type?7 segment displays: once again-what type, size and colour?I assume I need an FSBUS card-but I've seen so many mentioned from Display types to COM and COM III types. Is there a tutorial or instructions out there?JohnP 2.53 GHZ512 RAMWINXPGFORCE 4 128MB Ti4600http://homepage.eircom.net/~eamonnmca/images/logo_ba.JPGwww.bavirtual.co.uk Senior Captain Simflight.com Staff Reviewerhttp://vatsim.pilotmedia.fi/statusindic…

Hey everyone,Maybe I missed this somewhere but I have been a member of Avsim since before Pro Pilot came and went so qhy all of a sudden does the forum system no longer recognize my user information? Now for what I really wanted to ask, we are moving and currently in the process of cleaning out the closests and I have apparently been hoarding a 15" Phillips LCD display for the better part of 2.5 years. Now this is a 15" SVGA LCD display which last time it was plugged in worked fine. The problem is that the display is wired as part of a prototype thin client device that Phillips was developing and because it is a prototype, it is no longer configured/wired so as to allow th…

Hi,i was looking the manual but i was not able to find this information in detail. I have read that FsBUS-Key can emulate keyboard commnads & mouse clicks in PC.But i don't know how to do this. And about mouse clicks? What Fsbus Client & Finder are doing?1. Does anyone had done this? How it works? I have a pushbutton connected with Fsbuskey. What type have have i to declare it? And then?2. It works only with specif programs (ie PM CDU?) or with any other program? Must the program be in active-window or can it be in taskbar minimized?3. It sends also kayboard commnads in other networked PCs? (ie to change in PC No3 the Eicas display?)Thanks Eddie ArmaosAthens-Greec…

Hey all. Just wanted to share a pic of my rudder pedals for my f-16 sim. I used a pair of UH-60 Rudder pedals I got off of e-bay for 30 bucks and used alluminum for the mechanics. I had a pair of ch pro pedals that I stripped the guts out of and used that for the electronics. Pretty cool. Thanks for all the ideas I've seen here.http://www.blackoperations.com/gallery/Fgallery1-7.jpgLaterz,Ericmy pit website: http://www.blackoperations.com

Hello !About 3 weeks ago I started to build my fsbus panels. There were lots of problem with them. I etched my pcb by myself andI didn't have too many experiences.Anyway I just finished last week and I started to build a kind ofcockpit-like panel to put the switches on it. It was kind disappointing for first look but anyway, it was working ;)I have two pots on it and lots of on/off switch to control parking brake, light. As the time passed I started to thing about the good looking to construct apnel. It was a hard decision to find out what kint of plane it's gonna be.First choice was to build a smaller airplane like beech1900 or kind of. The other choice was a bigger plane l…

Spent the Afternoon knocking these up:http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/37701.jpghttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/37702.jpgThe Pedals are attatched to the Metal Bar via a set of door hinges.I have threaded a piece of bungee cord thru the pedal and metal bar, to return the toe brakes to the upright position when the brakes are not in use - however the design need some refinement, as when I touch the pedals at all they depress slightly.I have only tried the rudder mechancism out during construction, and so far all seems okay - need to get a couple of lock nuts. The bungee cord centering system works well.Next Stage is to refine the brakes, stop it from sliding around the …
