I recently wired my throttle quadrant (spoiler, flaps and 2 throttles) to a gameport D-15 adapter and installed it as a "Two 2-axis joystick" device (i.e. 4 axes) in Windows. It appears just fine and I can calibrate it EXCEPT...if I move the flaps pot (100k linear slide) near it's fullest extent the device suddenly becomes unrecognized in Windows and an error box appears on the screen. Moving back the slider causes re-recognition of the device.Any ideas what might cause this? The pot is perfectly functional through full travel. It worked just fine when I temporarily hacked it into an old MS joystick device. It works fine as long as I don't exceed a certain amount of …

Hello all,Does anyone know if a switch action can be programmed to be Momentary in FSBUS. In other words, if I turn on a switch and leave it on, I will only want fsbus to read the transition from ON to OFF only and ignore the position afterwords until it switches back to OFF.For example, If a toggle switch is used, say for gear up position, and if the switch is left ON in that psition, will there be a problem? Will FSbus read the position as ON, and keep toggling the gear all the time? Thanks for any feed back.SW

Hey guys, I just built this CDU for a fellow sim builder. It uses the keyboard interface, and has only around 20 wires running to the connector. No ribbon cable needed, only a 25-pin connector. The LCD uses standard 12 volts and has a built in RCA cable. I tried to get more, but he said they were discontinued. Here are some photos.http://t-b-x.com/prather/777project/newPro...er/PDR_0510.JPGhttp://t-b-x.com/prather/777project/newPro...er/PDR_0506.JPGhttp://t-b-x.com/prather/777project/newPro...er/PDR_0507.JPGShe'll be plugged in today for the first time and the buttons that fell off will be re-attached. Everything still has plastic on it, so that is causing the abnormal…

I read somewere that you could use two sound cards with RW. I put in a old sound and have sound on my motherboard. Computer works fine. The thing is when MSFS2002 and RW when RW set to the sound card my computer locks up! I have tried to set the sound for MSFS on the card and RW on the motherboard samething happens. When I set the RW to the same as the MSFS it works fine. Anyone in here know what to do?

Hi All!Just finshed my FSbus COM and FSkey boards!!!! Whohoo! I've been waiting all day to get to test it!Startup went ok, red diode on COM lit up, switched com and fskey into flash mode .. flash went ok, read pic also ok, CID is correct. Hexfile seems to be transferred.Measured the currents on the PIC while in flash mode, the two 5V pins ok, but the 13.5V shows 12.0V. Low ut it seems it was enough for the flash.Ok, switched it off, changed into normal mode to test the fskey funktion.Ran FSKey test, entered CID 1 as the fskey was flashed to that. Pressing the buttons connected...... Not a life sign...Tried flashing it 3 times, different CIDs, connected the buttons to diff…

Looks like I found a gold mine of information when it comes to Cockpit Building! I've found more great info on this forum in 2 hours then I have in 2 months of searching the net. It's given me great ideas for a possible B737 cockpit. Thanks to everyone who continue to help out us newbies! What has really peeked my interest lately is FSBUS! This is coming from a guy that couldn't solder anything to save his life, yet I'm getting excited to give it a try. However, before I do, I need to ask a couple questions first.1. Where can I find the English version of the FSBUS manual? All I can find is the German version on the FSBUS web site. (oops found it. Thanks)2.In all honesty, …

Hi Robert. Here is a picture of my GPS gauge with the bezel. I'm using RE11 encoders I get form Switch Channel, www.switchchannel.com, for $1.29USD each instead of the Grayhill dual concentric encoders that cost $85USD each. I bought 2 of the Grayhill encoders, but decided to use the RE11s instead. That's what I use in my radio stack & they semm very reliable.Regards,JimForgot. Yes, we are designing an enclosure.

Hello everyone, I will start off by introducing myself since this is my first post. I have been in the process of building a light twin cockpit for several months. Up intil now I have found all the answers to my questions via this forum and other great websites. So I would like to thank everyone for the great amount of information you have shared. Here is my problem I am trying to flash the fsbus led board. I am getting a read after write failure. It seems (I think) that it is a voltage problem. Pin 4 (MCLR) on the PIC16F84A is getting 8.3V and it is supposed to recieve 13.5 in flash mode (I think). I have checked the ComIII booard with a multimeter. I am getting 14v fr…

Hi fellow-simmers,yet another newbie on the stage of cockpit buiding ...To make an unforgettable entry :-) I'll start with these items:* a brief intro on myself (who cares, but anyhow);* a simple question;* a simple offer. Here we go with the intro:Harry's half a century old Dutchman, flying since FS95 for some hours a week. During FS98 I felt a growing need for switches instead of keystrokes. Reading an article about remote controle of keyboards (!) I discovered the simple beauty when hacking one myself: the first panelswitches came to life. Later on I figured out a simple electronic circuit to build toggle (i.e. pulse) switches, as for lights, strobes or landing gear. Ho…

Howdy.I have been prototyping a throttle lever thingy, been doing it very slowly since I tend to get more ideas once I let things "boil" a bit inside my head..This is what I have got so far:http://tigert.gimp.org/vatsim/cockpit-stuff/twinprop.jpgBasically it's 6 levers (2 x throttle, 2 x prop, 2 x mixture) and the feeling seems to be good, the friction is working well. The metal "L"-bracket you can figure out yourself, the levers are 3x16mm or so aluminium profile, they need knobs on the end and I need to bend them to be like in real planes. The white stuff is nylon, before you rush to a plastics shop to buy it for an expensive price, get one of those white bread cutting b…

I was thinking about taking the USB keyboard hack approach. I just don't have the jing for GO-FLIGHT or EPIC right now. I have an attic full of ,and bags full of switches and sliders etc. Alot of the stuff I've used in the music business. Rewiring equipment and stuff. Anyways, I need as much info as you guys can give me. I mean swamp me with it!!! I think I've got the ALT.+Shift+ thing figured out kinda.(using plastic mechanical slider switching) But any info is greatly appreciated. Great…

Hi,yesterday night finally i was made the test to work the FsBus with rotary encoders.A good friend of mine, made the circuit for the test and it was really a hard work when you don't have the printed circuit, but you use cables for connections etc. The target was to test it before the vacations (and because Mathias asked about it :-) )So as the pdf file was not so helpful what you have to do after the circuit, we connected the "Ausgang1" to one key position to FsBusKey and the "Ausgang2" to another. So Key1 was as Rotary2-1 and Key2 as Rotary2-2 switches for sending the increrase and decrease signal in fsuipc for Altitude change. At this point i don't know if the steps abo…

Hello all, After a long wait, the newest version of the Pro MFD 777 Collection is ready for downloading. The updates are too numerous to name here but some of the more notable upgrades include:-- APU simulation (including proper cooldown time and automatic AC/DC fuel pump switching)-- Completely realistic engine starts. AutoStart has been added step by step from the real aircraft. There are single keypresses for everything including the fuel control switches.-- Electrical page added with all electrical systems simulated (except backup generators). This includes IDGs, external power and APU Generator. All systems operate with the correct "priorities".-- Detailed manual …
