Some of you asked to see more details of my progress. I just wired some of the EFIS Control and FCU buttons and lights. BTW notice the HOLDER on the back side photo of the EFIS Control, from FDS (Peter Cos), it's fantastic and a lifesaver. Don't mind the temporary black tape. I want to end up using a single plug for all buttons and LEDS, LED displays, and switches. I haven't figured out which plug to use, any suggestions would be appreciated.

Hi, Last month bought their Throttle Quad and now I would like to replace my plastic CH yoke. I was looking into the Jet style Yoke. My question to you owners (or wanna be's like me) is what do you think about the table top version compared to the floor standing. I fly a mix, including small singles and I don't know how the floor standing would "feel" If you own it, do you like it? It's about $150 difference in price so just wanted to get some input before I spend that much money. Thanks!!!Rob(posted in another fourm too)

Hi all, this must be a stupid question to those wizzards out there, but it's really bothering me for so long:I have a rotary encoder (from Conrad, a German based company), and i want to use it for an elevator trim wheel. Tried the trim wheel on a USB-axis but that didn't do it for me, resolution is too small. Anyway, the encoder has three pins (as is usual i'm told) and when rotated left it gives pulses to the left-center pair of pins. But it also gives pulses (although offset) to the right-center pair ! And that way there is no way i can think of to get it to work as trim. It will always receive two pulses on either side when i switch it one full click and nothing happens…

I was over at my dad's job today, and came across this lever. It comes out of an air defense system called Roland. This particular lever comes out of the simulator, which isnt used anymore. the lever works great and im planing to use it for nose wheel steering in FS. I can use the button for the brakes. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what to use the top potmeter (the tip of the stick rotates) for?

I installed a KE72 keyboard encoder on a MCP panel for use with 767PIC addon. after I loaded the cfg with the right combination of key presses for each switch I checked it in note pad to make sure they were saved correctly on the KE72 board. No problem every combo worked great! Now the problem when running FS2002 the switches don't operate. I went into PIC custom settings and check the assignments and all of the swithces were recognised, but after saving and returning to FS2002 I get sporatic recognition. If I press a button several times it might engage, if I flip a switch several times it might engage etc... Anyone else have this problem and what did you do to correct i…

Could anyone please answer the following .I use a suncomic joystick/throttle combo in win XP / FS2002. As this company is out of business, I have set the driver as a 4 axis with POV switch and all works ok.I have been looking at making rudder pedals and I want to make sure I understand how to connect them.According to what I read on the net, I would connect the pot (100K) between pin 9 and pin 11 on the DB15 plugIf I do this..1) will this work with any Joystick , specifically the suncomic combo I use?2) Do I have to do anything in the Joystick configuration to let the sim/or PC know that there are now rudder pedals connected or will it automatically see that because I hav…

Hi guys, I thought you might like to see the current state of my cockpit.I am using the TRC "Basic ATD" panel, Flight Link KR-1 avionics, throttle quadrant and sub-panel and two GoFlight panels.I have 2 PC's driving the simulator; the main one running a Asus P4PE motherboard with a 2.6Ghz P4 and a Matrox Parhelia card driving 3 15" LCD monitors mounter on an Ergotron stand. The secound PC is the little black box micro-PC you can just see the side of on the far right. This is running a 1.8Ghz P4 and is connected to the 10" CRT on the left which is on its side and running Pivot software to turn the screen into portrait mode which is better for driving the instruments.I …

Hello,I'm finishing my small cockpit. The original project was a boeing cockpit, but I don't have room for it right now, so in the lastest 30 days I got what I already bought (goflight, aerosoft, LCD, monitors, etc), designed a table for it and put everything to work :) Soon I'll have a web page showing in details my project, with photos/links for all the hardware and software.I keep you informed.http://cdsdigital.com.br/simulador/simulador2.jpghttp://cdsdigital.com.br/simulador/simulador1.jpg(the guy in the photo is a friend, not me :)Thanks,Ulisses

Can someone give me an indication if the 4 switches (plus the altimeter setting) on the real Airbus FCU are push/pull on/off or are they momentary push/pull. I have just designed and built the push-on pull-off type with a rotary encoder incorporated, which is fairly simple, but suspect that they maybe the second variety, momentary push-pull with the at rest position in the middle, as Magenta has them in the FCU.These also are not too hard to build, but would like to know how the real Airbus switches work before I continue. Cheers.............Brian

Hi guys,I haved moved my primary flght instruments and the engine instruments to a 2nd and 3rd monitor. Other than that I am running stuff like the FSAvionics Garmin and FsFlightmax in the background. I made sprcial panels that integrate the Garmin and Flightmax. Now I have come to the point where I get a considerable frame rate hit. So I decided to move the stuff to a 2nd computer. Now here is my problem:WideFS allows me to run the external programs like flightmax and the Garmin on a 2nd computer, but will not allow me to display my panels with them.WideView allows to diplay an external view but as I have read in the readme to my great disapointment it is not possible to …

Hi All...as I've been building my cockpit I've been thinking what is the best way to interact with ATC. Currently with FS2K I have to press 1/2/3....etc to acknowledge their commands or pick next option. I use to use ProFlight 2000 and found this OK. Is there a better add-on/program to interact with ATC commands so I don't have to keep bringing ATC menu commands up on screen ?A penny for people's thoughts please as I work my way through this cockpit building hobby ?Thanks for the help...JB
