I asked the question a while ago on this forum and very much appreciated all the info - how to split ATC from ambient cockpit sounds? The overwhelming answer was to use R/Wilco.Does this mean that I can listen to the general AI ATC or is it only when flying online with multiplayer or through Vatsim?Sorry for sounding stupidFlyerian

Hi all,I'm trying to assign FSBUS output to FS2004 but i can't figure how to assign transponder settings. If i set XPONDR as FS destination for a switch or rotary i only can change the 4th number of transponder that makes other numbers increasing after it.How can i assign 4 switches or rotarys, one for every number of transponder to change each number only from 0 to 7 ?Thanks in advanceDylan

Hello All, I decieded to build a A320 Home Cockpit. I am just doing my homework here, so I have a few questions. Is EPIC programming difficult for a person with very little programming knowledge, such as myself? Is there anyone out there that is building a A320 Cockpit, that can offer advice? Thank-you in advance. UAL7554:)

Hey allThanks for all your help with the FSLed I had recently - I still haven't solved the problem, but have moved on to the FSDisplay...Well maybe not so lucky again...Attached is a picture of what happens when power is on.As you can see there's 2 parts of one segment on???Anyone seen this before. If have tested the PIC, checked cabling, checked for shorts - and everything just looks right.Nothing happens in the test, and nothing happens if I assign it in FSBUS and try to change the value in FS2004.Thanks for your patience.Best Soren Fleron

Hi, everyone.I need some rotary decoders, and, having no faith whatsoever in my own electronic skills, have decided to have them made. Well, the price I was quoted was a LOT lower than I expected, and if I buy lots it gets even cheaper, so, just like the Knitters, I'm going to buy a bunch and see if anyone else needs some. These are the ones that Leo (Beta Innovations) designed, and I have his OK to do this as he won't be making any more, and he still gets people asking for them. These boards each handle up to three rotaries each, and are compatible with any "grey code" or "Phase shifted" encoder - the standard types in other words. Each board is about 1" x 1 1/2". They ca…

Hi all. I figure this is a good place to ask this question since you guys are the pro's. I recently upgraded my computer enough to be able to show two outside views on 21" monitors out of the dual-head ATI 9700 pro. I love it and get very smooth 20 fps on vatsim. I usually set up the front view as a 2d cockpit/front view and my left monitor as a VC view out the left-front window. The effect is satisfying enough. My question is about adding a third monitor with outside views. My understanding is that I would need another computer for this using WideView. Is it possible to get a decent outside view with a PCI card? What type of system is not going to impact my framer…

Greetings Everyone, Just a small announcement for anyone that is interested. I created a webpage with a few photos of my project. It's not much, but I hope to be able to have more for you soon. The address is http://www.geocities.com/prob757/index.html

Greetings,I'm in the process of contemplating a small hardware project to gain a better understanding of how all the pieces fit together. I'm thinking an EFIS panel or some of the MCP functions might be a good start - interfacing with, say, the PMDG 737NG in FS9. At this stage I want to keep things relativley simple and inexpensive - so I find myself steering away from the EPIC-style solutions (for the moment).I've had a bit of look at the various web resources (wow !) and would appreciate a sanity check on the following:1. Keyboard encoder. I need one of these to stick between the switches and the PC ? Essentially it mimics the actions of a keyboard (ie, can assign func…

Hi George,As earlyer discussed by George:To make it simple :subID 0 : Pins 1 - 2 subID 1 : Pins 3 - 4subID 2 : Pins 5 - 6subID 3 : Pins 7 - 8subID 4 : Pins 15-16subID 5 : Pins 13-14subID 6 : Pins 11-12SubID 7 : Pins 9 -10Does it mean that you only can connect 4 rotary's via a redec to one key pcb, because there are to out's at the redec for each rotary?When it's true than you need a lot of key pcb's to get the thing at work.Kind regards Jan.

Hi all,I have build my FSBUS key, led, and display boards but i can get working only the key one.Flashing is ok for all the three boards but led and display seem not receiving any data. The led is alwais off and display alwais "-----" both in test mode or assigning a specific function. Can someone please help me?How can i check the input signal from PC to FScom? and how from MAX232 to the pic? In what pins? The output is ok cause FSkey works good. Thanks in advanceDylan

I am interested in getting some feedback regarding your panels and what scale you have used. I don't have a generous amount of space, so I've been scaling everything down to 75%. My project is a 757 cockpit. It's a compromise and my concern was readability of the instruments. Just wondering how those who have scaled down might have tackled or thought about this problem or others and what scale might be popular among those building in tighter confines.

Greetings everyone, allow me to introduce myself. My name is Ricardo from Bronx, NY. I've recently begun construction of a panel that will hopefully be similar to that of the Boeing 757. I'm ready to start painting and detailing parts of my panel for backlighting. I have almost no knowledge of electronics at this time and plan on working with that aspect of the project as I go along and learn. This is where my dilemma begins. I would like to drill holes for where switches and knobs will be, but I have no idea what diameter to use. I am hoping that there is a standard or common diameter that can be recommended for most types. If I have to, I could leave it alone and then d…

Hi all,I just finished to build a part of my FSBUS hardware (the COM and the LED controller).I flashed it with no problem, if i read back the PIC it's all correct but if i go to test the board, the leds don't work.I set the same flashing ID in the test of the router of course, expecting the led lighting ( i only use one led with random feature test) but nothing happens.I changed the jumpers in both the boards in normal position and checked for shorts, all ok.Can anyone help me please? Thanks in advanceDylan

Question: I am concerned about how long you intend to keep the program compatible with future versions of flight simulator. I do not wish to purchase the program if it's not going to be of use to me in two years (when I figure FS2006 might come out). Reply: Do NOT buy it then. There is no way I am going to be committed to making an FS2006 version after all the pain I went through for this one. And in any case, even if I do make one I would not expect to give away the FS2006 version just because you paid 20Euros for this. Are you getting a free copy of FS2006 when it comes out? If it does comes about I would expect FSUIPC version 4 to be priced similarly to the current one…

Hey GuysI'm new at this forum - but have been reading for a while. I started FSBUS a week ago, and have build the COM, FSKEY and FSLED.I'm now stuck at the FSLED, it just will not work for me. I read a lot of postings about the 33 pF capasitors not being correct, so I checked this - no problems found. I checked the board for shortings - no problems. Here's what I do know:1) FSCOM is OK, as I have flashed the FSKEY, and FSKEY works perfect2) Not a cable issue, I'm using the same cable for FSLED as I did for FSKEY3) I can flash the PIC on the FSLED board - When reading it back it looks good.4) When I measure the power on the board I find 1,5V on the LED???5) I have tried the…
