Has anyone opened up the FLightsim Yoke USB to see if it can be cannibalized for a jetliner yoke?I thought it would probably be pretty easy to convert one, using some gears and pulleys. Also, what seems to be the best material for a panel?Im in the planning stages of building a CRJ cockpit, and was wondering.John WhiteNewburgh, IN

As I sit in my comfy cockpit following a day in my comfy office chair, pondering the limits of executive spread and whether I'll be able to FIT in my cockpit in five more years, I decided I better draw the proverbial line in the sand. Exercise and less junk food is the order of the day. Heck, I want to live to see what the future of flight simming (or plain old flight, for that matter) has to offer in 2034.But I hate to exercise. HATEI was thinking, why do I dislike exercise so?It's b-o-r-i-n-g. Problem - how to make exercise interesting and motivatingSolution - combine it with one of my passions - flightStick with me here: Imagine taking an exercise cycle, the sit do…

Hi,I am planning to build a home made General aviation plane cockpit. In fact it is a DR-400 Robin. Since I do not have a huge amount of money available, I am planning to use several USB joysticks to have different axis and buttons. Two joysticks with 11 buttons each... Therefore I believe I wilml have 6 proportional axis and 22 available switches. So my question is: Is it possible to connect several joysticks in FS2004 and assuming that they are exactly the same and to attribute different assignements for each of them. Example:- assign for button Number 1 on Joystick 1 "brake" and button number 1 on joystick 2 "spoiler"-assign gaz axis on Joystick 1 to "mixture" and gaz a…

Hello,I have a key mapped to turn on (and off) the Project Magenta's Boeing MCP Auto Throttle. (T, as it turns out). Now, in FPUIC I can assign a key to turn it on (PM MCP A/T On) or off (PM MCP A/T off), but not to 'toggle' it on or off by pressing the same key.I'm obviously missing something. Help appreciated.Paul

I am just curious as to how many builders there might be out here...100, 500, 1000, 10,000If I were doing the data mining, I would find out how many Project Magenta customers there are...then I would cross check with FDS customers and see if I can get a feel for this builder population...does anyone know or care?If I had to guess, I would say about 1000 worldwide...any other guesses?

I just checked the website: http://www.iflightsystems.com/ The On-Line store is open for business. Very reasonable pricing on the boards.Photon hardware and FSCockpit software documentation is very well written. Hardware pictures are included along with software installation and configuration screen pics. PM users check out the Boeing and Airbus input and output functions in FSCockpit manual Appendix B and C! Richard

So far, so good. The concept is based directly upon Roland van Roy's excellent DIY tutorial. I am having some difficulty with the spring-action of the elevator controls. Seems that the controls do not want to return to centre, or are very sluggish in doing so. I will try some stronger springs, perhaps? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!Roger

Well, I finally got it working, and will upload it to the library this evening.I ran into a couple of issues that may come up when someone out there runs it.The main one is Prop RPM - Supposedly in MSFS a Scaler is applied to the N1 value to get the prop RPM. In many cases though, the downloadable turboprops have been based on jet engined aircraft, where the value for N1 is far higher, so the author has applied a "fiddle factor" to the result of N1 x Scaler to get a reasonable value for prop RPM. Depending on how individual authors did that, the Prop RPM may not always match the value displayed in a VC. The other issue is prop feathering and prop sync. Not all the turbop…

Hi all,I need your help to be able to finish my website with all the information about the panelsI only need two pages reviewed: index.html and simulador.html. From that point I can continue on my own (I hope). The problem I have is the following:When I edit my page using Frontpage, it works ok locally in my computer; but when I upload it to my server, the link buttons's images go away, even after I check that the images are in the "images" folder. I think that the problem must lie behnd Javascript and the commands "onmouserover" and "onmouserout".When edit the page with Frontpage's script checker, i get several errors I don't know hoe to fix.All I need are the buttons ch…

OK, all you electronics Guru's..... I have an idea and want to know if it's feasible.I've been playing with a cheap way to use RC servo's to drive analogue gauges - kinda like the "realcockpits / SimKits" fancy ones. (Still can't get that servo controller to work, but that's a hardware problem)The instruments that don't go all the way round aren't a problem, but those that need to be able to go round and round and round are. A servo can be modified to do that easily, but the problem is figuring out exactly where it's pointing, so as to know which way to move it.My idea is this. I will connect a 360' (non-stop) potentiometer directly to the shaft of the needle. This will …

Can't quite make my mind up about this, but what voltage should the LED's be? I can't work out whether I need 5v (which I'm sure is the right answer) or 12v (which seems a bit high)Can someone point me in the right direction?
