Has anyone here ever used an OOPic? I was reading an introduction to programming one over a coffee up at Barnes and Nible, and it seemed to me to have some very interesting possibilities in cockpit building.Anyone got any experience with one ?Richard

Hello all,I've just finished making an FSBUS COM. Everything went well (PCB etching, component soldering etc. etc.) and have just finished the com interface wiring.Apologies for the slightly dumb question, but is it possible to in fact check that the FSBUS COM module actually works without having built any other modules ? I.e, can one plug it in and using router software actually check anything ?Thanks,Paul

Apologies if this has already been discussed:I'm confused about the wiring of the com connector - or more accurately - I'm not sure which pins are which on the 10 pin plug located on the PCB. I can see from the circuit diagram that I need 2, 3, 4 and 8 connected to a 9 pol female, but I can't determine which these correspond to on the 10 pin male pcb plug.Any help much appreciated,Paul

Last weekend it took place in Barcelona the spanish cockpit builders 2nd meeting with the participation of a lot of people from many cities of Spain.A lot of designs, speeches, etc. about actual issues regarding cockpit building were exposed.Important progresses about the software for A320 and ON-737 systems, and the software to connect X-Plane to IOCards were also exposed. The new USB expansion card was presented. This new card lets us to connect up to 4 master cards to the USB port, and includes 5 analogic inputs. In a short time the schemes, kits, etc. will be available.Photo gallery available very soon too in www.opencockpits.com

Hi to all!I don't know if this is the right forum where to ask about my problem but i try.I'm using a PFC throttle console with 6 levers: 1 - spoiler 1 - reverse 4 - engines Now my problem is with the 4 engines levers. It's impossible to use them because they're not syncronize. If all 4 levers are at the same position I have different engines values on the plane using Flight Simulator 2004. I use the last PFC.DLL Is not possible to syncronize all the 4 levers via pfc.dll ? Many thanks! Regards, Max PS: sorry for my poor English

Just a few photos for everyone here to show the small progress. The resolution is not that great, I don't have a digicam so I take them with my webcam, but I hope you enjoy. These here show what I have done with the throttles so far. They are coming along. I've still to actually put them together and work on the other parts that will house them. I'll use this same post for updates if that is permitted on this forum instead of creating a new one every update. And you can always visit my webpage. It will be updated tomorrow.... www.geocities.com/prob757/index.html

Could someone please provide me with a quick sanity check ? I'm downloading the FSBUS COM schematic and pcb. I open the .ps file in photoshop, and print onto, say, press-n-peel film. This gets ironed onto copper pcb for etching. I'm assuming that the .ps file does not need to be reversed - ie, is the 'right way up' as is ?Thanks,Paul

Hi,First of all read please my post on the MSFS general discussion forumhttp://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=sho...id=179059&page=In the while I got the solution, but I am not able to do it since I am not programmer. The solution to my problem would be simple: A little program dedicated to sound running on a separate computer linked to fs via WideFS and FSUIPC. In one word, what PM Glasscockpit does for the Instruments, that program should do it for the sound. This would allow to the main server to run just the outside view of FS9 and processor and memory wont be overhelmed by all wave files needed.I personnaly prefer a little delay for the sound than stuttering.Reg…

Ok, after a week of "tear-everything-down" work, we have a much better mood and stuff starts to look more like an airplane again :)Some pics from tonight:Marker-leds, controlled via FSBUS - Outer, Middle and Inner marker.http://tigert.gimp.org/tigert-albums/simu_...e/aaa.sized.jpgFlaps-indicator in the round gauge style. Controlled via FSBUS as well (servo board) because we dont have a potentiometer flap controller, but rather a (on)-OFF-(on) switch for this.http://tigert.gimp.org/tigert-albums/simu_...e/aab.sized.jpgOverview of panel, note the marker leds in the middle. Hello AllI have got my FSBUS up and running.I can not flash using my COM11 board but I use a programmerI bought long time ago. Thanks for the .hex file someoneuploaded to the forums.I got a LED and Display and Key up and running. The problem is the update speed. I can change the autopilotVSI and it takes 1 to 2 seconds to up the display. The same with radios. Also, DME speed and distance goes off of Nav1 or Nav2That means I will have a total of 4 displays. Is there a way to use the Nav1/Nav2 switch and display indicated DME.That way I will have only two displays. Thanks all for the help and THANKS to DirkKen Trager

Hi,A coupld of quick electronics questions for those gifted electronics people among us.I'm making and FSBUS COM. So far so good - success with press-n-peel etc.I have just purchased the components according to mikkila.org (exellent web site.)1. Diode 4 - The 1N4002. Can this be a 1N4004 ? I was assured by the shop attendant that this version can be used instead.2. My ceramic capacitor - the 100n. The most likely one that I could find was actually called a 100p ? Is this likely to be the same one ?3. Does commmon sense prevail for those Voltages and Wattages which have not been specified in the parts list ? I'm using 0.5 watt and 1 watt resistors, and the unspecified ca…

Hi all,In the process of planning a simple 'introductory' panel (MCP) using beta innovations' "Gamma Ray" USB module, I've arrived at a bit of an impass. I've been toying with the idea of illuminated switches, and have a couple of questions:I understand (courtesy of an off-line conversation with Leo) that if I use integrated LED switches, I will need to power the LED part of the switch separately - and to that end am looking for a DPST/DT switch which allows me to achieve this. The other problem is that by using illuminated switches, I need to consider how the LED or switch is de-activated automatically for MCP commands which provide this functionality. For example, press…
