I am new to VATSIM and just did my first flight today which was a success however, I am unable to hear ATC or communicate with ATC by voice. I had to use the chat window for the entire flight. I read the FAQ section on Apollo3 regarding sound with FSINN and didn't come up with any results. I also did some forum searching but didn't find anything that fixed my problem. I downloaded TeamSpeak and my microphone is working fine with a hot key. But when I am connected to Vatsim with FSINN I cannot hear any ATC communication and I can't even hear the "tone" when I press the hot key to speak. Hi Guys, I remember reading something about a new client (like Squawkbox or FSInn) that is in develpment...but I don't remember where... Anybody know anything about this new client? or am I imagining things?

Does flying on VATSIM impact FPS? Also do you have to change any graphics settings when flying on VATSIM?

I've discovered this gem over at http://www.hoppie.nl/acars/ from a programmer that specializes in avionic design. It's a relatively simple utility that simulates the world of ACARS and CPDLC. It was adapted initially for PS1 (Aerowinx) but can be used for FSX/MSFS etc. It runs totally independent from the simulator. When flying on Vatsim let's say I'm at Gatwick and want to contact delivery but there is no one at delivery what do I do?

Question? VatSIM is suppose to be a full blown simulation of flying and ATC, working together in harmony to produce the most realistic flight experience possible. Why was I told to handle my emergency offline? One of my gear would not deploy so I had to bring it in with a wheels up landing at KMCI-Kansas. Emergencies are a part of the reality of flying. Instead of punting someone off VatSIM for having a problem, why aren't people working the problems like the real thing? I decided I wanted to try Vatsim out for the first time recently. I downloaded Fsinn and whatever the other thing is, installed them both and watched a how-to on youtube to get things going. However, I started everything up, positioned myself at Dulles for a flight to Orlando, but the only frequency that came up and was audible was NY center. I tried a couple days later; started a flight at Montreal, loaded up Fsinn, but same thing - NY center was the only frequency. Is it possible I did something wrong or is this normal?

I've just upgraded from SB3 to FSInn a week ago and i noticed when i change freq's it wont transmit and some times if i disconnect and reconnect that freq it works but not all the time and some times when i'm in mid flight in the same air space it wont work it just not working it works when i restart FSX i don't if it stops working when i check my emails but it wont work i'm tired of it i just wanna talk! any help? i got windows 7 64 bit SP1

So I had my first couple of flights on VatSIM and I have an issue... I have a very expensive headset and microphone setup that is crystal clear in both audio and communication everywhere I use it except apparently VatSIM through FSINN. Is it normal for everyone on VatSIM to sound like their Mic is in their throat or that they dropped it in the toilet while flushing it six times in a row? It is very hard to understand some of the pilots and even worse, controllers in the US theater of operations I fly. hello fellow simmers goodnight I just installed vatsim and everything, but im having a problem. When I connect I can still see default aircraft and the atc bar still pops up. This is not good because in fs9 as soon as you connect the default aircraft would disappear and you would see only the aircraft in the vatsim server. I decided to upgrade to fsx. can anyone help to get rid of the default aircraft when I sign into vatsim. thanks a lot!! 'any help would be greatly appreciated Thanks DIllon

I have never used vatsim before. I got a vatsim id and password. I am using fsinn (also downloaded fscopilot). I follow the online tutorials I can find and believe I set all the appropriate settings. I also enter the proper server address. I can see people online with vatspy, but the fsinn continues to show me as not being connected to vatsim in fsx. I have been unable to find anything indicating why I can not connect.

Expect VATSIM to light up with hundreds of pilots, dozens of ATC positions including the non-radar Oceanic procedural airspace and heaps of PMDG 777's! Hi guys, in case of the upcomming Cross the Pond Event on the 12th October 2013 Eastbound to the European Airspace we all 777-pilots need a fix/update. Is it possible to expect the update before these event or not? Especially for transition-waypoints at Frankfurt/Munich like DM422 oder DM424. It is unable to put it into the FMC but they are standard operations for high-traffic situations at Frankfurt or Munich. Hope I can expect and answer of you Thx a lot!

I have recently started getting this issue. I would file a flight plan in fsinn, submit and connect to the vatsim network. But the arc do not see my flight plan. If I go back into the flight plan option, there actual departure time is populated, but I am still at the gate. This has happened a couple of times, not sure why. Any help or advise ?

Well with all the fellow simmers always talking about VATSIM I tried it out this week. I've only heard good things about it and with it being free I decided to compare it to PilotEdge (which is payware) which is my ususal fix for real live atc control. Logged onto the west coast at KSAN and not a single controller. Only 2 or 3 controllers on the east coast but no center or tower etc. One of these controllers was called ATIS. I didnt think there was an ATIS controller. Basically flew a couple flights on the west coast were I usually fly and basically felt I was just wasting bandwidth. Hi guys. It has been many many years since I last used Vatsim and I think I would like to again but have hit a snag with squawk box. I have installed it so I can have it running on a separate pc. All seems to work ok apart from when I connect on my laptop and the little squawkbox window appears in the cockpit of my FSX machine. When that appears Vsync disables and I end up with some frankly nauseating screen tearing. I have spend ages this evening trying to find a solution. (one of which was to try and install FSinn) and the squawkbox forum has about as much life in it as a mausoleum but have not found the answer. If anyone has any idea how to get rid of this …

Hello, got a question, literally two: Is there any possibility to check out where is the most departing or arriving traffic on the network? VAT-spy has the function to show a list and sort that by airport, but wish to see a numeric output, because it is more exactly. VAT-spy (installed it recently) seems to have not opportunity to display the country time; is there one or have I overlook that feature?

VATSIM claim that I already have an ID. I do not have an ID yet it still claims that I have. Hopefully this issue can be resolved, I'd like to see you in the sky or on the ground in the near future! Thanks - Paul

I've tried everything I just cant seem to connect. I am on the right airport and on the gate. FScopilot is connected to the vatsim server. Callsign was correct. And I have submitted my flightplan to vatsim.

Hi- Been trying to log on to VATSPY all weekend but can't. I uninstalled it and tried installing it again but now I can't even install it. Are their servers down ? is anyone else having these problems ? Thanks- Brian

Hello, I recently have been unable to log into Vatsim without being booted off (once). And, on the second time when I do finally connect, I cannot communicate either by text or voice. I can send a flight plan, but again- no clearance or comms. Additionally, I cannot see other traffic, but I can see ATC lists. yes, I tuned the right frequencies. I'll provide my account info on request. I'm thinking my issue is with not having an FSX "multiplayer game" set up? Thoughts? And thank you all for your help!

Tried to load up the home page and its a 4040 error, also VATSPY wont load any data etc.
