Hello PIC addicts,Jumpseating on a 767 (cargo), the captain left for the bathroom and the FO ask me if I wanted to seat down on the captain's seat. I couldn't believe the offer but of course I didn't refuse. When I sat down, to my surprise I noticed the reduced field of view of the pilot as opposed to what is presented on the 767 PIC panel. From this view point the pilot can just see the A/S, EADI and the left top corner of the windshield.Eric was working on a "landing view" prior to the realease of FS2k2 but I never saw it anywhere, I don't know if it was never finished. I downloaded the VFR panel view ( pic2k2.zip) and I was surprised about how much I liked it. For som…

I just want to get some general opinions of the FSmeteo 5.1 product before I go plop down $25 for it... Also, is the FSMeteo Weather Display needed at all? What do you folks who have it find better or worse about it compared to using VATSIM or FS real-world weather. Is it really able to smooth weather transitions? That right there would sell me...

  7. Have anyone here used FSMaintenance??What if on activation a token is sent via Intenert to a central ranking server that includes Flight Plan, Start Time, Equipment and Pilot Identifier, now, at the end of that flying session automatically the information regarding your performance is sent to the server. Now imagine the Initial Logging and Final logging includes a validation scheme to know if you actually completed THAT session or you started over...Now Imagine VA's use that ranking server and there is no more need for pireps... what do you think?

I haven't used UA in ages and never with PIC and FS2k, I decided to give it a go, but to no avail. Has anyone had any luck importing UA flightplans into the PIC FMC? I checked with PSS Airbus and the plans load up fine and everything works, but I haven't had any luck with PIC. I did the standard procedure of shortening the file names and placing them in the "pilots" folder, but PIC still refuses to load them up. I've checked the plans themselves and there aren't any visible differences between the UA-generated and MS-generated ones. Any help would be appreciated.

  11. HiHo,I'd love to know if someone has tipps how to make up clickspots or hidden click spots to open up the panels of the 767-300 Panel.Another thing is: PIC seems to eat my RAM away like hell. I cant start FS2k2 with the PIC a second time or start any other programm addon same time. Is this normal that every time I try it my systems just crashes and reboots?Ciaot_a_h

Hi!I have observed the following in PIC:If I have a self-made waypoint in my flightplan, such as 3640N239/220, then I can insert this information into the FIX page. Now lets say I change my flightplan a little bit, and remove this slef-made waypoint. If I want to see when I will be abeam this self-made waypoint, I can press the Abeam LSK on the FIX page. So far, so good. The problem arises, when the FIX pages calculates the abeam point, and I select that line to insert the new waypoint into my active RTE. The FIX page calculates the following waypoint: 36401150/1.5 (36401 being the self made waypoint I created before). This new waypoint will not be accepted by FMS. Quite u…

  18. OK, so here we are 7:40 with a line of real bad thunderstorms heading towards KBOS. Current METAR:2002/05/31 23:12ZKBOS 312312Z 19019G31KT 4SM -TSRA BR SCT020CB BKN041 OVC100 20/18 A2953 RMK A02 PK WND 19031/2303 TS OHD-N-E-S MOV SE FQT LTGICCG P0006So, I have the basics here (winds 190 19 gust 31, 4sm vis, peak wind, altimeter 2953) but anyone want to do a full decode of that METAR?I'm wondering at what point the airport just puts thigns into holding patterns and waits for these things to pull off... Doesn't look like it would be any fun trying to actually be up there tonight! Thanks!P

Last summer, Haroon Anwar fixed a bunch of us up with plans/charts for Quito-Cali Columbia. I thought Haroon had just found a neat route with some nice scenery. What I have now realised is Haroon had just watched the best "Just Flight" video I have seen to date. It is the Challenge Air 757 cargo flight from KMIA-La Paz-Quito-Cali-Miami. It is very detailed (except for the overhead panel for some reason is left out?), and LaPaz is about 13,000+ ft above sea level so they de-comp the aircraft and put the masks on. There is also a preview of the 707 video...looks nice...and at the end, there is several t/o and landings back to back as a finale. Awesome video. I also ha…

I managed to fix my problem with the elevator and rudders after merging PIC w/POSKY (severe fluttering) by changing some values in the .cfg file as recommended on some other posts. The aircraft now flies smoothly but as soon as I engage the HDG select, I get a constant rocking back and forth.(about a 5 degree bank and it does it a couple times a second) It was not doing this when I had the other issues and that is what I'm confused about. Any help is appreciated!Eric
