One major problem I've been having with the default ground ATC is when you have two parallel runways, with the outer one for landings and the inner one for take-off. As the planes land on the outer one, they try to get to the terminal, which means they have to cross the inner runway. But if there's a take-off que, they never get clearance to cross the runway, and the traffic gets backed up. I would think that IRL the tower would halt departing traffic for all of thirty seconds for planes to taxi across. Is there any way that this can currently improved? Is there any ground control utility that's like what AI smooth does to approach traffic?Since the upcoming v5 is going to…

Hi,There is only one thing that makes my flights with RC4 not so exicting. Unfortunately, RC allows to contact Tower within 4-6 nm from rnwy threshold only. Unfortunately, this is very short distance especially in those cases where there is a single rnwy in use (such as KDCA). This often results in go-arounds. Is there any way to increase the distance in which user may contact Tower, for example 8-10nm?ThanksDmitriy

Has anyone tried these new files from FlightSim:FS2004/FSX MeatWater VocPack for Radar Contact 4 version 2, one of ten parts. By installing these version 2 remastered voice sets, ATC will now sound almost as the prerecorded, real chatter files. All voices now feature a real ATC sound, making RC4 immersive as never before. By Nick Schreger.I assume they are compatiable with FSX and RC4...and are more "professional" sounding.zach

Version 4.40 of MakeRunways isd now available via this link:http://fsuipc.simflight.com/beta/MakeRunways_440.zipI'll try to get it up on the main Schiratti/Dowson page in due course. The main changes are:1. It is, at last, re-structured to have FS9 and FSX scenery structures as its priority -- previously, being a long-standing program operating on BGLs right since FSW95 and FS98 days, it was optimised for those formats, with the FS9 and FSX format files "bolted on" later. The result of this re-structuring is that it is now much much faster scanning FS9 and FSX scenery layers.2. Taking advantage of the increased performance, the FS9/FSX/ESP scenery layers are now scanned tw…

Hello - I'm returning to FSX and Radar Contact after being frustrated with not being able to run FSX at the same detail settings as FS9. Now that I've eventually got a system capable of running FSX with decent settings, can someone please let me know what I need to download to bring RC4 up to the current build/patch state.I have the RC4 CD (brought as soon as it was released) and will of course update FSUIPC and everything else from Pete.I'm asking about RC in particular and if I need to download new builds or patches. Thanks

I've been using RCv4 fine for a while now but recently its been crashing during my flights. Everything will work fine on the ground and departure but in the middle of a flight RC4 will stop responding. RC4 will state an error message of something to the effect that it does not have permission to create a .RCD file in 'C:\Users\(My name)\Documents\Flight Simulator Files' (windows xp)Any ideas?

I get two errors. When I do not start rc as an administrator (vista 64), I get the error 'IP timed out all entries'. So I did some research and I believe that it can be solved when I run rc as an administrator. So that is what I do: Then the second error comes up: 'component comdlg32.ocx or one of its dependencies not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid'.So some other research...I downloaded comdlg32.ocx and .dll and put them in the windows\syswow64 folder. I ran cmd as an administrator and typed in regsvr32 comdlg32.ocx... a box told me that it was a succes. But I still can't run rc as an administrator. I know I did well. Fsx is running and my plane is at a …

I did this fine with Vista64 but I just can't seem to make this work in Windows7 64. I downloaded the MSSTDFMT.DLL file and placed it in my SysWOW64 folder and followed the instructions in the sticky but I keep getting a RegSvr32 error stating:"The module "MSSTDFMT.DLL" may not be compatible with the version of windows that you're running. Check if the module is compatible with an x86 (32-bit) or x64 (64-bit) version of regsvr32.exe."It says to ignore the error message but RC keeps giving me the 713 error. Where can I find the right dll? or is it something else?

I have flown into LPPT (I have Aerosofts version, highly recommended) a number of times, and have oddly never noticed, but the recorded chatter is actually "Brasilian" rather than Portugues, apparently from Curitiba SBBI ATC.I lived in Portugal 18 years: 6 or so within a 10-minute bikeride to LPFR, where I would often hang on to the fencing at the end or RW28 and get blasted with dust and hot, fuel-filled air - and this was a cupla years before I started flightsimming. Currently within sight of short final to SBFZ, and directly under a SID, although I can

Question from a RC-New-bee: I'm flying with FSX and use the Follow-Me-Car from Simflight. Since installing RC4 yesterday, Follow-me is unable to work. Also I can't switch to this dotted line from FSX that show me the way to my gate.

Question to the forum: I'm a pretty heavy user of the PMDG products and have, as a result, grown incredily tired of the lame default FSX ATC. So, I'm toying with adding RC 4. I'm not sure its for me. One of the things I usually do: which is set up a long flight climb to cruise and then walk away until the TOD, and then resume. This seems to possible using "Otto" which is great, but here are some other things I'm looking for as well (and some general questions).1. Approaches/descent speed restrictions. Are they issued? If I had a dollar for everytime the bad FSX issued a go around because of a race for the threshold with another aircraft, I would be very rich.2. S…

Hi All, I've just reinstalled RC4.3 on my new PC with Windows 7 32bits. Everything went fine. However, when I launch RC, load a flight plan and launch it with FX ready, I have a message "IPC timeout". If I launch RC as administrator, it refuses to launch and says that COMDLG32.OCX or one of its dependancies is not registered, although I've donwloaded sevral versions and received successful messsaegs of registration using REGSRV32 in admin mode also. Could someone help me please ? That would be so appreciated ! Cheers, Mat
