I'm a real life multi-IFR pilot, and one aspect of RC that has always bugged me, is that when you pick up your depatrure clearance, you aren't assigned a departure runway as you are in real life. It's a bit of a pain when you have to wait until after pushback to setup your departure runway in the FMC if flying a big jet, or trying to figure out your taxi route.Most IFR clearances I pick up in real life (espesially at a busy airport) are as simple as "Knox three departure, depart runway three four, climb and maintain one zero thousand, squak 4-2-2-1." I am still having this problem. I fly to the last waypoint and RC vector me to line up with the runway. They give me a altitude of 1900 until established on the Localizer. When i'm about 5 miles out I turn on the APP and freq is on NAV1 and on NAV. I never get pulled down. I'm too high and have to do a go around and finaly do a visual approach and thats is a hard landing. My IAS is about 145 flaps down to 45. Any input will be very helpful.Eddie

Hey I just went to the super atc website, on the site it says it enables you to use voice commands in Radar Contact, then it has a link to your main site, but I don't really see any info about it, can someone explain to me how superatc will interact with rc4?

I may have stumbled on a missing airport. I tried to fly to KARM Wharton, TX and RC wouldn't recognize it. Naturally I had flown the entire flight and only realized it when RC failed to start bringing me down from FL360. Yeah, I know I should have noticed there was no airport listed before I took off, but...I didn't. After using FSX ATC to land, I did another flight plan out of KARM, and again RC wouldn't recognize it, so just for fun I tried starting at another tiny airstrip in Wharton (which won't handle the Cessna Mustang), and that worked and RC even let me use 5R5 as an alternate. 5R5 is the name KARM used to go by, however in the real world and in FSX it is now…

After a gap of a week or so, i was doing a longish flight over the pond only to find that the .rcd file was not saved at the end. Very frustrating! I tried saving flights again this morning, and when pressing the shift/CTRL/; keys, all the FSX files are saved, but there is no .rcd file saved. I have double checked that I right clicked on the icon to run RC as an administrator as I am using Vista.I have checked the path in the .FLT/.WX path and this seems correct, and the programme will load in older .RCD files already stored so it knows where to store and look.Any help would be much appreciated.Chris HallBournemouth.

I have installed RC4 on my laptop with Vista but when I start RC4 I have an error: 'component 'mscomct2.ocx' or one of its dependencies not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid'.How can I fix that?

Good afternoonI recently purchased London City Airport X from Aerosoft. I ran the appropriate rebuilds as required. However when I build a flight plan, RC does not pick up EGLC as the departure point. I checked the scenery file, and there appears to be a AFCAD.I compiled the plan using first FSCommander, then FSBuild and then FSX. Each time RC did not have a departure airport.What file does RC look for to accept the flight plan. I was wondering if the AFCAD format supplied with the product has someting to do with the issue. many thanksLaurie

Hi,I just installed fresh Windows 7 RTM build 7600 and I'm slowly installing all of the add-ons. Is anyone using RC4 within W7? Any issues? Also, any idea where W7 is storing .flt/.wx files? I've never used anything other than XP for the sim, not familiar with Vista either so majority of paths and OS folder structure is brand new to me.Thanks.

Hi JDI am getting this error message "IPC Request Contains bad Data" when I try to start RC after I have loaded the flight into RC. I recently needed to gwet a new big 1.5 Terra Drive to handle a couple hunderd Gigs of the new Mega Earth Scenery--my computer store did a mirror copy of the old hard drive--did this screw up the copy protections built into RC and if so what do I need to do?I run a copy of RC for FS( and a seperate copy for FSX--also run two seperate copies of FSBuild to export into RCThanks for any helpCheersDorn Cranert

Good Day,I have Radar Contact V4.3.3845 CD version working perfectly on my FS9 installation and have been using it for a long time. Now I finally have a computer that will run FSX at max settings with very fluid frame rates and finding myself spending much more time with FSX.What would be the easiest/best way to install Radar Contact so that it works with both programs. Currently running both FS9 and FSX on a dedicated Flight Simulator hard drive with no issues. Radar contact working very well now with FS9 and I do not want to mess up that installation. I did search the forum but found no specific advise in this area....... Can someone point me in the right direction.…

I've just found and fixed an odd long-standing bug in FSUIPC4 which may have been affecting some Radar Contact interactions with AI traffic, especially on the ground. The updating of ground aircraft details, especially flight numbers, might not have been as prompt as it should have been due to this bug. The fix is available in the latest interim update, 4.538, available from my Support Forum. Please note that if you are not already using 4.53 or later you should first install that main version, from the usual Schiratti "Dowson" page, before applying the interim update version.RegardsPete Dowson

I am flying a flight from FMMI to OMDB in the MD-11F. First waypoint off of FMMI is GATLA, just over 100nm distance. Take off went well, I have DEP Procedures as NO ALTITUDE RSTR. In my nav display and in the RC4 readout in show test GATLA is 045 deg and closing. All of a sudden, RC4 starts its complaining that I am off course, turn to 075 deg until .... Again, the RC4 display in ShowText showed me on the correct heading with waypoint GATLA as my waypoint. What would cause this? After getting admonished for the 3rd time I just bagged RC4 :( and decided to finish the long flight in quiet mode.I use RC4 on all my VA flights, and this has not happened to me before.FS…

Recently installed RCv4. Ran great first 3 times. Now will start ok and then freeze showing an error 76 with FSUIPC.Have searched as to what error means but no luck. Anyone know how to correct this? Thanks.FS9RCv4No other addonsFred

Hey guys, am not sure where to look for this thread. But am having a real problem with AI A/C running into my aircraft. Last night I flew from Ksfo to Kpdx, and realized that AI A/C were about 3 feet from me passing under and over my aircraft.Am using the Beech Bonanza A36 from XP-Reality with windows Vista 32bit with Radar Contact.I also have My Traffic along with Pai A/C as well installed..Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.Alpha37

Hi,I recently noticed that RC is randomly generating dial tones like it's trying to contact FSS during a normal IFR flight in A321, the flight is not disrupted in any way in terms of program functionality. I was just wondering what it is, didn't see it happening in FS9.

Hi fellow simmers, I have been using radar contact for about 2 years and like all other users i cant wait until RC5 is realeased.In the meantime i would love to make RC4 a bit more realistic , i was reading about the meatwater voicepack files and after watching a short video on youtube this has become a must have program for me.The only problem here is im not 100% sure how to install these files and how to backup the original files in the winwood folder. Is anyone on this forum willing to share their knowledge of how to do this and maybe give a step by step tutorial on this if possible . Thanks in advance
