I've just started to use v4.3 after downloading and reading the quick start manual, however the update button does not show on my RC panel anywhere dispite it appearing in all the manual screen shots. Is there a problem with my installation?

I reinstalled RC4 in my new PC, made the usual key request, got the key very soon after but it was a week before I was ready to get back to FSX. When I loaded RC4 the Product ID was different from a week ago. Did I do something that caused it? As far as I know, there were no software changes with any of the flight sim add-ons.

Hi Guys - Im having a problem with the function that 'hands over' the plane to Otto.Im under the impression that when i press the keyboard combination to hand over, the co pilot should acknowledge airspace changes with ATC so i dont have to (if i have to leave my PC for a while) ?Thing is, i press the keys and i hear it say "Your Plane", thats fine. But when i move through new airspace and i need to check in with ATC, nothing happens... Then i get told off at the end of the flight! :-)Can someone please help me with this?

FSX was fun before RC. I would fly my IFR flight plan and be satisfied even if I did a lousy flight. But after installing RC the whole scene has changed. Flying a sim is now very much like the real thing. It makes me plan more and get serious about procedures that I had almost forgotten. In short..now FSX is REALLY fun. Of course sometimes the after flight critiques are a bit hard on the ego I usually use just RC but sometimes us It's Your Plane with RC. They seem to make a good combo. At present I am trying to refly in the sim all the routes we flew when I was flying tankers in the late 50'-early 60's. Anyhow, thanks for a super program. I am really looking forwa…

  8. Firstly, I have to say that I really enjoy using RC4. It makes the flying experience over a 100% better. However, there are some problems that I repeatedly see. I have posted a similar note before, but the feedback given to me at the time has had no effect.I have just flown an approach to Perth, WA, in the PMDG MD11. I checked the weather at 75 miles and was told that the runway in use was runway 03 and I set up the STAR appropriately. When I was passed to to Perth approach frequency I was initially told that the runway in use was runway 03, and then with no delay, was told that the runway in use was runway 21! There had been a good 5 minutes between the initial request f…

Hello,I recently installed rc4 and have various open cockpits, goflight and vr insight hardware modules. My problem is the default keyboard commands are conflicting with either the mcp and efis from open cockpits or the cdu from vrinsight.I press the numberpad on the cdu for example and it also sends commands to rc4. The mcp heading only works anti clockwise and i cant set altimeter on efis.I am using pmdg 737-800 and fs9. If i stop rc4 and restart fs everything works flawless as it did before i installed.I know its a conflict with the key assignments in rc4 but when i tried to change them it made other things act weird like pressing something else on the mcp would affect …

Using the default ATC in FSX I am able, by selecting Default Speakers for Sound and a USB Headset for Voice, to have engine and external sounds played thrumy speakers and the ATC voices thru my headset. This enables ATC to be clear and understandable. However, when I run RC4 I still get the ATC voices played thru the Speakers Can anyone advise me how to replicate the standard setup ?Many thanksGeorge

Hi JD,I wonder if you did think about adding a few international features to RC5?I have couple of those in mind:1. Support for metric spaces. Some countries still use meters instead of imperial measurments.2. ATC talks to you in your native language in case you have choosed this.2.a. As a some sub-feature it might be great to have lists of airlines and their preferred languages, so ATC will be talking to AI in a way which is more natural.I understand that recording those things might require too much efforts, so it will be absolutly fine for me if I will be required to record audio before I can hear it, or find some community-contributed files/configs.Also, TTS should be …

Is it advisable to delete the 1st waypoint especially if it is a VOR at the departure airport? I ask as the last few flights I notice the 1st waypoint has been a vor at the departure airport and at times is almost impossible to get credit for it seeing sometimes you must execute a almost 360 degree right after takeoff to be able to intercept. Thanks, Jim

I am trying to simulate a NAT crossing as close as I possibly can within the limits of the software I now have and the limitations of RC. Essentially, I look up the daily NAT tracks and code them into the FMC of my Level-D 767 (.rte format) via SimRoutes. I then similarly code the flight plan for FSX (.pln format). Hence my FMC programmed course should - in theory - be identical to the .pln flight plan RC has "on file". So far, so good - but I mention that in case anyone wishes to critique me so far.My real question - can I file two flight plans - the first one from the departure airport to the defined entry fix of the NAT, and the second from the defined exit fix of …

I need help with this issue that is happenning each and everytime there is AI traffic for departure.I file an IFR flightplan for my PMDG 737. (EDDK-LEPA). I was given clearance for taxi to departure RWY 23R.I started taxing and saw an AI Continental 757 departing for Newark taxing ahead of me.I was told to connect to tower, who advise me that I was number 2 for departure. So far so good.I stopped at the curve behind the Continental 757 wich was waiting for two AI aircraft already lined up to land at RW23R.Both arriving aircraft landed and exited the active runway.I waited for 5 minutes behind the the stationed Continental 757.Nothing happened.I decided to go around taxing…

I have just bought RC and am very impressed. I also bought FSBuild in order to create flight plans. I want to fly as realistically as possible and want to use SIDs and STARs when flying a 747. I would appreciate any advice from more experienced simmers regarding building a flight plan. Should I add destination runway and STAR when I do not know which runway will be available when I arrive? For example a change in wind direction may result in runway 27 being in use after I have inserted runway 9 and an apropriate STAR in the plan. I know that I can request another runway (my original) but it does not seem realistic to use runway 9 when all the AI traffic is using runway 27…

As a very new newbie, I am "feeling my way" thru RC4.3 and would appreciate some guidance on how to change the colours of the Text and.or Backgroundin the ATC window that opens when RC starts. Assuming it is possible. Also having loaded the flight plan, opened FSX at the appropriate airfield, I then put FSX to the taskbar in order to open RC and click on its start button. However, I have considerable difficulty in then getting FSX to open its screen. Any ideas ??After reading the comments on RC4 in the current issue of PC Pilot I was vey happy to find such an improvement to the default ATC in Flight Simulatoralthough at present I am finding it a bit difficult to note the i…

In my opinion, one of the main reasons that the FS Ai system is unable to handle large volumes of traffic is that it is much too cautious in holding take-off's when another plane is coming in for a landing on the same runway. Just to test, I started FS9 at JFK at 6 in the evening, along with RCv4 and AI separation. On average, take-off's from 4L froze when an approaching plane was around 10-8 nm out.I don't know the procedure in the real world, but that seems much too early. In the time the take-off's get frozen and the incoming planes land, at least two planes could have taken off.In the real world, are take-off's stopped when a plane is that far out on final? For practi…

Hey,I know that this might be discussed before in some matter of way. It is a question about the descent, and I use the 3-PD.Now ... I have been flying a while now and I get the clearence to descent to FL11- FL12 and level off there just about 5nm before 40nm radius from the destination airport. Cool.I have been taking a look at the http://www.flightradar24.com/ which shows the final approach of the real traffic. The little problem (if its a problem) I do not know if this is possible or not or might be avaliable in a new version of RC is that no matter from where I approach to the airport, from the west, north, south, east, I always get the clearence to descent to FL11-FL1…
