I was flying at a controller requested altitude of 13000ft today and even though I pressed "B" to ensure my barometric pressure was as expected, I was still told off for not keeping to the correct altitude. Then I got the big telling off after landing!I thought all that was required during flight was to press the B key occasionally to take account of atmospheric pressure variation, and then all would be well.Obviously not, and I would be grateful if I could be advised on how to avoid this problem.

Hi,when I fly with FSX, PMDG 747-400/747-400F/747-400i8 often I miss some messages from ATC and then the ATC says that is the second/third times that he or her told me to change FL or bearing indications but I didn't hear any message and the Radar contact line don't show anything. That is a serious problem when in final or approaching the destination airport.Do you have some suggestions to recover this problem?Might be a too high visualization settings ? (low frame rate? now about 10-12)I have a two-dual core PC 2.7, 4MB ram and a NVIDIA 8800 GTX.Thanks a lot,Maurizio Balvetti

Today taxying at LFPG (CDG) I had to taxi from one side of the a/p to the active runway. At CDG this can be a journey which needs an 'in flight meal'. Anyway, halfway between my parking slot and the active RC4 tells me to contact tower? Surely this is much too early?

I'm running RC/FSX over a network with RC on a Win XP machine and FSX on a Win7 64 bit machine. I'm finding the response times on the screen to lag behind the keystrokes and that when I hit 4 or 5 to request an altitude change RC locks up and must be closed. Anyone else have this problem?

Hey guys, I just bought Radar Contact and took my first flight with it and I've got to say that it is worth every penny! :DI just have one or two things that I'm trying to clear up. Radar Contact does not actually follow SIDs or STARs and altitude/speed restrictions are relatively generic, correct? So the best way to fly a SID/STAR is to have a generic waypoint within 30 miles of the airports and fly the SID/STAR around those points? And if having to fly to the far side of an arrival airport, will ATC give me proper vectors (if it is a fully controlled airfield)?

Can I use SIDs and STARs with RC? I've had a flick through the manual, but can't find where I'd get to choose or be given a SID for departure.

I have recently installed Radar Contact V4.3 (download version, not a CD).I currently have the most up to date version of FSUIPC. I start FSX, build a flight plan in the default flight planner, save the plan, open RC4, load the flight plan into RC, click on the "Start RC" button, and then begin the flight in FSX. Once in the game, the RC menu window is visible with 2 options. The first option is to begin communication with the controller, and the second option is weather. I tune my radio manually to the appropriate frequency listed in option one. This is where I get stuck... I cannot select option one. When I press "1" on the keyboard, nothing happens. I have tried to pr…

Since in v5 we will have both instrument and VFR flights, will you be able to detect the type of flight for each AI aircraft and generate the correct type of chatter? That is, will VFR traffic request flight following on (US) approach frequencies, report position on traffic advisory frequencies etc. Would bring a lot of flair to the sim and add to the sense of "being there" that RC really excels at...

Hi, I have some questions:1- What is the difference between MDA (minimum descent altitude) and DH (decision height)? I also heard the term "minimums", which one it refers to?2- What is the difference between RADIO and BARO mode for the decision height? When to use one instead of another? Thanks!Regards

Have just installed RC4 to go with my PMDG 747 and going through the learning curve.FSX flight planner does not include SIDS and STARS. Can I create a flight plan in the 747 FMC, save the flight and use that to export to RC4?If not, any views on Flight Sim Commander v FS Build. Also if flying long haul and only receive arrival runway and STAR from ATIS late into the flight (then enter into FMC) does RC4 recognize this?

I'm very interested in purchasing Radar Contact, as I can't stand the native FSX ATC especially while on IFR flights, but I'm wondering how RC handles updates to STARS/SIDS/approaches, which is a big complaint I have using the FSX ATC. What database does is use?I predominately now fly Flight1's Cessna Mustang, which is an updateable G1000 platform, has all the SIDS/STARS/approaches, and can be updated with Navigraph as those TPPs change. I can also fly WAAS GPS approaches. The problem with FSX's ATC is that it's so old that it doesn't have updated choices in the approach you want. For example, I was flying to 3A1 which has a GPS 2 approach, loaded it in my Mustang's G…

I have been using radar contact for a while and have loved it. Today i was talking to a friend who flies on vatsim. I told him that i use radar contact for ATC as we continued our conversation i started asking him about descent speeds and he told me that as long as my fms was set up i would just have to lower the altitude to the next way point after the top of descent mark. I then realized that i have never been able to get that far into the flight plan. I explained to him that radar contact ATC has always started me down way before my top of decent and i thought this to be normal but he told me that it is not normal. is there something that i am doing wrong which is wh…

Sometimes RC goes away with no warning message that it has happened. I usually realize it when I do not receive the Altimeter Check advice. If I then click on RC I receive an error 75 message and RC immediately terminates. This in effect destroys my flight since RC does not permit me to refile my flight plan from where I am at the moment. Does anyone have any idea what is going on?

Hello,I purchased Radar Contact recently and have run into a small problem regarding Flight Plans. In order to learn how to use RC correctly I decided to fly the Tutorials as recommended.I created a flight plan within FSCommander (version 8.2.1) and saved it [KDSM - KORD] but am unable to load it into Radar Contact. I have tried closing all programs and restarting, with the result that I am able to open the flight plan back into FSC but it doesn't show up as being available to load when I select FS200xFlight Plan(*pln) in the RC menu.Is there something I'm not doing correcting , or, more importantly, does RC support (and load) flight plans created with FSCommander?Any hel…

During my last flight in FSX with LH Maddog I created a flightplan in FSbuild and started ASE. This on second client computer. Imported the flightplan in ASE and RC4.3 (EKCH ESGP). RC was run on the main FSX computer. I noticed the following discrepancies1) When selecting ATIS information in RC the information aboute windspeed and direction didn't agree with the report in ASE2) In the flightplan according to RC the first waypoint was DO39C and was listed to be at a distance of 0 nm and the next after that at 15 nm. In FSbuild Do39C was at 15 nm and the next at 22 nm.What could this be?

RC Crew,I've noticed that whenever RC (v 4.3) assigns me a squawk code beginning with 5 (i.e. 5313), my FS9 crashes to the desktop. This usually occurs when being handed off from departure to departure or center (usually above 10,000). This only seems to happen with a squawk 5XXX code. Am I crazy or is there some sort of fault or bug? If I receive any other squawk, I can complete even the longest flights without any issues. Any suggestions? Justin
