I just have a few questions before I make my purchase..1-Usually when i'm flying a long haul flight I'll cancel my IFR flight with ATC and use speedx4 and when I'm about 400nm to 300nm from my arrival airport I'll request an IFR clearance from ATC.. I'd like to know if I can do the samething with RC 2-Do I always have to open RC b4 lauching fsx or I could launch fsx and listen to ATIS at my starting airport then create the flightplan via fs build and open(load) it in RC while fsx is already launched

I am large, heavy, and climbing very very slowly. I have just announced to a Control that I am at "x" level less than 2000 short of my filed of 330, and some smart-alec chimes in saying "Watch your altitude, your assigned is 330".Yes, I know, Im getting there, but I cant climb any faster!Whats the point of that kind of intervention from RC? Is it realistic that I would be told, in effect, to hurry up?And whilst Im here, heres the question that you dont want to hear and even less likely want to answer: can we expect RC5 any time this year?

Hi allI know that Radar Contact is able to handle sids and stars, but I can't seem to get it too work.I make a flight plan using fs2004 itself, load it and then use a sid to takeoff via the active runway. My plane follows the route as it should, but the atc keeps assigning me an higher altitude and eventually gets mad after the third time he says it. (this occurs with a route where I have to fly at 6000 for quite a while before I can climb any further. I also tried via fscommander and load the sids and stars directly into the flight plan, this doesn't work either and don't want to use it like this as I find it unrealistic... Or do pilots know what the active runway will be…

  6. Hi everyone! First of all if think RC is a superb add-on and I'm using it for a couple of years now...But this week I encountered a problem new to me. When I start a new flight (FSX) my aircraft is parked at its departure gate, but as soon as I start RC it tries to reposition my aircraft on the airport and crashes it into ground every time... This happens at several airports and with different aircraft. How can this problem be solved? Thx!

Hello forum, After reading the manual and getting around how to set up RC properly i finally got to do my first flight with RC. It wasnt too bad to begin with, but just before reaching my Top of descent it gradually started to turn into a mess :D First of all, at about 5nm miles away from my TOD, the ATC tells me to descend to FL110 and that he wanted me at this altitude 30 miles away from the airport. Well as i had no other options to chose from i just had to go with it and start the descent as ATC requested, and this brings me to my first question: Is there any way ATC can let you follow your FMC descent path? A litlle bit later, i passed the last waypoint of my flightp…

Hi all, I'm flying the PMDG 737 NGX and was wondering which option to select on RC, 'Heavy' or 'Jet' and does it make any difference at all? Also, I have noticed that at A LOT of airports (Dublin for one) that when I get to the holding point, the AI plane lines up to the runway but refuses to take off, it just sits there. However, when I'm still at the gate, I can see the airplanes lining up and taking off without any issues. Thanks.

Hello, I recently bought Vroute premium and noticed i am not able to assign SID/STAR's to the flightplans that i export into RC. Perhpas i missed something and there is actually a way of doing it? If there is no option to add SID's/STAR's in vroute, what would be the best way of still flying a desired SID and STAR? I am flying the PMDG ngx, so i use the FMC. Thanks in advance - Arthur

Hi guys. I have a situation I don't know how to handle:There is a STAR I fly that specifies in the chart that you must cross the initial fix at or above a certain FL, but by then RC has ordered me to descend bellow that. What should I do?

I just recently purchased RC ver4 and everything seems to be OK except I never get an initial altitude. The clearance reads backs [COA2683 Cleared to KEWR as Filed. Fly Rwy Heading, Climb and Maintain {Silence}... I've looked in the manual and this forum and don't see anything relating to this particular problem......Eddie

I am running FSX and a long time ago I purchased RC4 and installed and it worked. I haven't used it in months and now tonight when I tried to run RC4, I get an error saying CAN NOT LINK TO FSUIPC and it aborts. I use FSUIPC for other apps like iFly 737 which I just bought. I believe my FSUIPC is the latest free ver or close to it. I tried re-installing RC4 but I get the same error. Please let me know what other info you need so I can get this resolved. Thanks. Joe

Hi, and sorry my poor english ! I´ve read many Post´s in the Forums where they are talking about Problems with RC, ASE, FSUIPC regarding the assingnmentof the correct APP/RWY when you are flying in DWC-Mode.The only solution that seems to work is when you´re UT2 user setting a certain Spawn-Distance ?So, Iam not owner of UT2 (but Yes, I own ASE, FSUIPC-registered) and if I would buy RC it wouldn´t work with MyTraffic or the FS-StandardAI ?The correct (WX/Winds-dependent) assingnment of Rwy´s at least to me would be one of the most excited Parts from ATC !Sadly, RC dosn´t offers Trial-Versions and I won´t buy UT2 only to get running RC !Is there any other Solution ? Thank …

I have been flying the 737 NGX alot recently and have a question about the desent. Is there a way to have RC alow me to fly my desent as assigned in the FMS? I ask this because RC never matches even close to what the FMC wants and almost always has me taking the bird down before I even get to my TD. If not then what is the point of a desent profile? - Jim

Hi all,I read that RC would freeze other AI aircrafts while you are about to perform take off or landing. Now, I have one problem with this. I was following a default AI plane to the take-off runway in CYYZ. The AI plane hold short of the active runway and I stopped behind it. One minute later, I saw a 747 landing. Well, everything was fine except that after the 747 has turned off the runway, the default plane continued to hold short there. I thought there might be another plane landing, but no. I see nothing in the sky, nothing in the runway. For the rest of 5-7 minutes, I waited but the AI plane simply did not move. No other planes in the sky or in the runway. Was this …

Unfortunately, my Wilco Airbus doesn't pass the filed waypoints accurately enough. So, it quite often happens, that RC doesn't recognized a waypoint to be passed and asks me to fly back to it before it allows me to continue with my flight plan. The only way to get this solved is to ask for a direct to the next waypoint. This is quite annoying since you always need to watch for each single waypoint whether it has been recognized as passed or not.Is there a way to get RC tolerating less accurate waypoint passings or is there any other solution for this problem (apart from not flying Wilco Airbus anymore, of course;)) Thanks very much for your help in advance! Regards,Tilo

  19. Airport Shoreham. UK . EGKA. GA flyer using Radar Contact and FSC FSC shows distinct twin sets three rwys roughly triuangularly placed butwith two sets slightly different headings. With flight plane loaded and ground control announcing the allocated runwayI have to change to runway 03 because that is the only one noted in the RClist. Is it me or a glitch? regards Wiggins

  20. I am a bit confused by the fact that flight planners such as FSBuild and others provide the opportunity to assign the destination runway and /or STAR when the flight plan is first created. It seems that the assignment of the arrival runway and the STAR would not be known until the controller at the destination airport makes the assignment. Or are the flight planners allowing for exceptional circumstances or is it simply that I do not understand what is normal procedure. I would very much appreciate someone clarifying this as I am just now starting to fly aircraft that includes the FMC and would like to start using SIDS and STARS.

  24. Hi,I have just got this RC4, and I read the quick start guide in the manual. I have copied a RL flight plan that I used to fly from; http://www.eurofpl.eu/finder#lowpanel Into http://www.simroutes.com/fb2/ParseRoute.aspx generated the route and downloaded an FSX flight plan. The route is: EGGD - EGGDBCN L9 ALVIN/N0140F050 DCT GST/N0120A045 DCT Which is a departure from Bristol UK, flight via airways to ALVIN and approach to Glouscester. After a couple of holds and missed approach at gloucester it is direct back to Bristol. I loaded the flight plan into RC as instructed in the manual. When I flew the flight, as I departed the Brecon VOR enroute for Alvin in the airway, I …

Anyone on here fly in or out of KSFO in the real world?Or lives nearby and observes what happens? I am curious about the real world runway usage.I've been there many times but mostly in the summer when it's usually 28L/R for most movements and 01L for some departures .I have landed on 19L just once. Today RC directed me to 19L and I was coming in from the east. The wind was well within limits for 28L/R which I used. The AI were landing on 01R I think. There are some RNAV procedures ifor 10L/R in my book of charts but I've never seen them used.I've never seen approaches to 01 either. I appreciate it's a wind issue but there are some terrain issues as well as runway lengths …
