Hello, I just purchased RC 4.3. I'm trying to install it, but I can't proceed because I can't locate the required ADVDISP/ShowText file. It refers you to Pete Dawson's website, but I've searched it from top to bottom repeatedly and can't find any file using that name. If it's integrated with another file now, can you please tell me which one? I've embarrassed myself this way before - by searching and failing to find something and then find out it was right in front of me... Now that I have a computer capable of running RC and Ultimate Traffic X, I'm running into "Holding". The weird thing is, it's not working the way the RC info says it should. I'm getting sent back to my last VOR waypoint as I get to within 70 miles of my destination. I'm guessing several things are occuring: I use the RC "pause" feature. I will reach altitude and then go off to do real world stuff...like go to work..and return to the paused flight at say 100 miles out. 10 or 20 miles later I get sent back to my last VOR, over 80 miles last time. According to what I've read a hold should be issued at some point and I should be doing the default 20 mile out and back …

Hi all, I have recently re-installed RC4 v4.2 after upgrading to Windows 7 and am having an issue with the initial running of MakeRwys.exe. The program can be run directly from my FSX root, but RC4 does not find it when using 'Rebuild Scenery DB' . When I do run it from the root, it goes through the motions but does not find any airports or runways! Does anyone have any ideas? I have Acceleration, REX and FSPassengersX installed, but I don't think they would have anything to do with it. Cheers! DeeQ

I have purchased RC V4.3 by download from SWREG and installed it on my PC. I then followed the instructions and sent the email to get the key but I got an automated response saying my email was not on record. I have sent an email explaining the situation along with the SWREG order number to [email protected], [email protected], [email protected] and [email protected] but I always get the same automated reply telling me my email address is not on record. What do I have to do to get a key so I can use what I have paid good money for? Can somebody please help? Graham Crossley

I'm strongly considering buying WideFS for some other software and am wondering what effect this might have on RC4. I don't intend to move RC to the client computer, at least not anytime soon. So, is there anything I will need to set up or do differently on RC with WideFS installed? I know that when you update the scenery data with makerwys.exe it asks if this is a WideFS configuration? Would I answer yes if I'm still running RC on the FSX computer? Thanks for RC. It has made flight simming much more enjoyable. Alan

This is a Widefs system. I ran makerwys on the FSX system. Then I started RC4 on the Widefs client and hit Rebuild Scenery DB and gave it the path to the FSX main folder on the FSX system. The rebuild completed successfully. I exited RC4. With FSX running, I start RC4 version 4.3.3845, then click on Load Previously Saved .RCDs. I select one I just saved from a previous flight using <ctrl><shift><;> or <;>. RC4 says "C:\Documents\FlightSimulatorXFiles\a350_omaa_eham.flt not found." So it is trying to load a .flt file, not an .rcd file. The file has a .rcd file type in Explorer. The RC4 main menu has a button .FLT/.WX PATH not shown on page 101 o…

Hi there, sorry if this has been discussed before, i searched through some topics I found some similar to mine but none answering exactly what I wanted to know, I'm considering buying RC because i'm tired of the default AI and all of its frustrating problems, one problem in particular is aircraft getting stuck on the ground due to traffic conflicts...for example at PHX if an aircraft (either mine or an AI) is taxing to a gate at the same time another aircraft (either mine or an AI) is taxiing from a gate, or any time two aircraft will both be on the same taxiway but going opposite directions, ATC will tell both aircraft to 'hold position and caution other traffic' causing…

Just got RC this weekend and tried to use it when I hit the start RC button I get this message "Cannot link to FSUIPC or Wide Client" I do have teh newest version of and registered FSUIPC. Stats W7 64 bit and FS9.1 loaded under C:\ FS9 and the RC is under C:\ Program Files(x86). and retried to just program files.

Hi I am having great difficulty getting a working registration key. I sent several emails, but apparantly you have to use the same email address used when buying the product ! Next you have to use a particular format when requesting a key ! Having finally surmounted the obstacles and get a key, it does not work ! I am running Windows 7 64 bit and launch the .exe file as administrator, enter the key and the program crashes. Having bought the program and after much hassle it it still not working for me. Well, i purchased radar contact last night and received the download link. The problem is after i installed the program you need to send an email to request a product key.I followed the instructions and never had a response. So after many email attemts to [email protected] and [email protected], i have had to request a refund. Whish me luckAs a CEO of a VA you can guess what my advise will be in the future.

Hi! I use Radar Contact 4.3 in FSX and also I have a virtual company in FSPassenger X and in these days I fly MD-82(Maddog 2008) aircraft in my company. I also use MyTraffic as a traffic and Active Sky 2012 as a weather program. Last night I was on a long flight from Vancouver (CYVR) to Los Angeles (KLAX) and it was a 3 hour flight without acceleration. The flight was good and after 3 hours I went to land on runway 06L in KLAX. every thing was normal and I used ILS approach to 06L. Hi there, after yet another HD crash and replacement I'm finally getting FSX back to normal. I just installed RC4.0 from my original DVD and wanted to know where I could obtain the 4.3 update? I already received the registration email from John for 4.0.3675 (JD) but I don't know where I can find the update. Any help would be greatly appreciated. All the best, Peter

I'm connecting RCV4 via WideFS and AS2012 via Simconnect to FSX. The weather doesn't appear to be in synch. Where is RCV4 looking for weather data? Are there any settings that need to be made to tell it where to look; or perhaps something needs to set in AS2012? Thank you, Ken Boardman

I have only recently started using STARs with Radar Contact, previously accepting vectoring to the ILS.My problem is that by the time I have heard from the airport approach control (through RC) and received the active runway information it is too late to use a published STAR as I have passed the transition point.Is there a way around this or am I misunderstanding what I should be doing?Best wishes, John M.

Dear sir: I had to do a complete reinstall of radar contact due to my figers hitting the wrong key and deleting the radar contact folder. After I had reinstalled it I went to reactivate and as a result i sent in the information in the wrong format. I have sent it back in in the correct format and have log the info in my troubleshooting log for further reference. My question is, would the two cause any problems and if so can it be fixed. Hi Guys, I'm having fun with RC4, and for the most part everything is perfect. But handoff is a problem, especially when I'm trying to speak it as I want to keep it realistic and use this for RW practice. I'm using a speech program to interface with RC4. Situation is: 1. Controller requests I contact Brisbane centre etc on X frequency. 2. I readback to the controller and start dialling in the frequency into my radio 3. I make the frequency active, so I'm definitely on the new frequency 4. The original controller then nags me while I'm still talking to the speech engine to initate contact with the new controller. Can't get the "Display Window" key command to work. I've had no trouble in past using Ctrl + Shift + W. I tried changing the command to CTRL + Shift + R but that combo doesn't work either. BTW, I did check to make sure that these commands were not already assigned to an FSX function. Other commands (ie. Co-Pilot Comm toggle, etc) are working properly. I just fired up FSX for the first time, and just starting a default flight without radar contact, I get <1 FPS!! Before I installed RC, I would get around 10 - 15 FPS (not much, but its amazing on my feeble little pc, plus the sliders are not the farthest to the right...) but now I get <1 FPS. Any help?

I want to add a Tower frequency to an airport that did not have a Tower when FSX was frozen. I recompiled the scenery file for airport KEAU using Airport Design Editor to add a frequency for Tower, to \addonscenery\scenery\keau_adex\nrc.bgl. FSX shows the new frequency in Map when i restart FSX. I rebuilt the scenery database in RC. However when I load a flight plan into RC with that airport as the destination,the Tower frequency is not shown under Controller Info. I can add this at the Controller Info screen, but I would rather have RC pick up this info from FSX. This is a Wideclient configuration with both FSX and the flight plans on the server. Hi all, Running RC4 over WideFS in FS9. 3.9.9.9 FSUIPC Registered. I begin my flight, all as expected on ground, I get weather, runway and cleared alt/FL - then clear to taxi and takeoff fine. Then the problems start. I'm ascending to my required altitude, get my handoff and my response is that I am at my cleared xxxxft/alt, even though I am on the climb to it. RC doesn't give me any alt warnings missed , and I continue to get commands to my filed altitude, which I get to. Any speed restriction busts do get ATC's attentions. Flight to filed FL goes fine, happily cruise then I get my descent command. Regardless of whether it's FL level, or ALT commanded, I meet…
