Haven't used RC lately, but installed FS COmmander and had problems with it, and was told to install the latest FSUIPC, which I did. Finally got back to trying a flight plan, cooked one up on FSC (KSFB to KABE), and loaded FSX. Set up my Lear 45 on the ramp at Sanford, started up FSC, and then started up RC. It seemed to take the flight plan, but the screen looked funny. When I clicked on "Start RC", FSX crashed my Lear (???), and I got a message: Run-time error '9':RadarContact.fsuipc.rcv4code. I could un-install/re-install RC4, but I don't want to re-install an earlier version of FSUIPC. And why did the aircraft crash? It was parked on the ramp, and then it crashed,…

Hi, RC does not recognise Aerosoft's Monastir in FSX. Although I have the scenery installed correctly, RC cannot find it. After loading a flight plan using Vroute and into FMC for the PMDG 737 when I start RC, there is no DMB. The arrival section is blank with no airport code and the radio frequencies are all blank and greyed out. Does anyone have any idea what the problem may be and how to sort it? Thanks WG

Just installed Windows 8, installation went fine but conventional registration with name etc leads to 'webpage not available' times about 8. Manually emailing leads to nothing. I'm at a loss. Anyone?

Hi everyone, Sorry if this is a dumb question, but could someone please explain what approach means when they say " 7 miles from the marker turn left heading 310 degrees......Approach ". At first.........after I received these instructions I continued to fly my current heading of (250 degrees) thinking I'd hear the Outer Marker audio and that would be the que to start the turn to 310 as instructed by Approach Control, but I heard nothing so I flew way past my turn point. Basically I need to know what instrument etc tells me when to make that turn on to 310 degrees so I can capture the localizer? Many Thanks in advance John

Hi, I am thinking of purchasing Radar Contact 4 by download, but I see all the problems people have with the modern OS Windows 7. 1)Can anyone reassure me that RC4 will work on Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit? 2) on a similar note, does it run ok with FSCaptain and UT2? Many thanks :)

After a system crash I tried to start RC 4, but a window was shown that Radar Contact was unregistered. I then entered all blank fields in that window with the correct data, hit the button to activate the product, but after starting RC4 again, I again was presented with the message that RC wasn't registered. I am running RC4.3 under Windows7-x64. Any help to get me up and running again will be highly appreciated. Kind regards, Hans After obtaining another key RC4.3 is running again! This is a problem that has cropped up within the past month. I am constantly being cut off by other aircraft while I am on final approach. I am using FS9 with ASV as well as RC4.3 and AI Smooth. It happens whether I use AI Smooth or not. 8 out of 10 flights result in another aircraft cutting in front of me while I'm on final approach. I have already been cleared to land by RC. The aircraft will cut in front of me and proceed to land on the same runway just ahead of me. Then the aircraft will stop in the middle of the runway causing me to run into it. I used to do the missed approach thing but lately I have just turned off crashes and just continue through the offending pl…

I've just download and installed RC 4.3.3845 and FSUIPC per the install guide. I've loaded a FSX flight plan into RC, started FSX, hit RUN in the RC dialog window and ready to go, but I don't see any RC ATC window in the FSX view. I am totally new to RC so have likely missed something. I am flying the NGX and for other add-ons please see my sig.

Hello I have No destination airport information after flight is loaded when trying to fly into EHAM..I also have this problem when trying to fly into SAN. It like Radar Contact wont accept the radio information for my destination....what is the problem here?

I format my pc win 7 but don´t save my setup radar contact 4.3. What´s procedure for new download radar contact? My radar contact is regoistry and licencied. Thanks

Hi all, I have just exported a flight plan using vroute Premium. When I try load it into Radar Contact I get the following error message.... "Run Time Error 713 Class Not Registered. You need the following file to be installed on your machine: MSSTDFMT.DLL" I am running FSX on Windows 7. Any ideas? Thank you. Luke Bartey

Hi John I requested a replacement key which I received yesterday. Makes no difference in that I copy /paste replacement in registration box of RC it will not register the product. I have had RC for years and have not had this problem before. My question is: I have installed Windows 8. Is RC not compatible with Windows 8? That was the reason for the request for a replacement key. I have also tried various compatibility modes and am running RC in Administrator mode. Your assistance/advice would be appreciated. Hi, I'm using RC since a couple of weeks - nice tool!! But during my flights I have to fight with different sound levels. Sometimes (expecially at or near airports) the sound volume drops and after 30-50 seconds, the volume increases again. I guess, the standard ATC still works in the background, although I hear no standard chatter from this engine!! Any suggestions how to kick the standard FSX-ATC out or how to get rid of theses sound level changes? Greetings Thommy

Hi I have come to a point where I have to uninstall FS9 as I have problems with it crashing. I have been using RC4 for some months now - what is the procedure, do I uninstall RC4 as well and then reinstall once FS9 is loaded again, or can I just leave it and back up sime files instead? I am not reformatting the HD or anything like that. Many thanks Rich

This may seem silly but since buying PMDG's 737NGX a month ago, I am constantly being told off by the controllers for not changing level and direction quickly enough! The problem is that previously Otto flew my planes, but Otto cannot fly a PMDG and I have to do it myself (just the vectored landings, the rest is under FMC control) and I cannot manage to twiddle the MCP knobs and set the actions quickly enough. Is there a way to slow the required reaction time down or is there another way to manage levels and direction? I know I can just ignore the warnings but that doesn't seem right. Ian Harrison

Is it possible to assign alpha numerics other than "1" or "2" to the Menu Selection 1 and Menu Selection 2 options ? The letters "c" and "v" were not recognized after assignment (and restarting RCV4 and FSX). Thank you, Ken Boardman

Hello folks outhere i have been wondering and i know this subject has been brought up , but how come there is no new upgrade to 4.3. it has been several years and i have been using 4.3 , it is absoluty a must use tool when flying and i fly alot. Just curious 4.3 has worked flawlessly for me with less than 1% incident. So im not complaining but with faster computers and such you think this software would be second to none. Ive tried them all but i get the best response with 4.3. Is there ever going to be a 5 . Thanks..................Robert

Hi Folks, Question - a while back I recall seeing a post that some software package that was around for years decided to go freeware or donationware - - - I thought I recall a post where someone mentioned it would be possible to include this large volume of recordings into RC4's radio chatter play list... Would anyone have any more information on this - is t possible - and - is it worth the effort ? Meaning would they blend well with the existing RC4 recordings ? Thanks... Regards, Scott

In the RC4/FSUIPC message area (the red lettering), the characters have become very fuzzy. Is there a way to improve their visibility? Ian Harrison

Hi I have just done a complete reinstall of my computer with windows 7, I thought I was Doing really well as this was my first atempt. I'm using FSX Windows 7 64 bit. I've been flying RC with a PMDG 737-900ngx and an Eaglesoft Citation X, both with the same problem. Around every four flights I will be in the enroute portion of the flight, on track well within the heading allowance and out of the blue ATC will advise I am off course and issue me a new heading about 180 degrees from the heading I am on. I am acknowledging the new heading and then going to the Direct to Checkpoint menu selection as fast as I can. Sometime this is fairly quick and easy, sometime it is a real hazzle to get to. Hi I running RCv4 on windows 7 64 and when trying to fly IFR form an uncontorled airport Im unable to get weather or clearance from Flight service. After starting FSX and loading the flight plan into FSX and RC and starting RC the box appears with 2 for FSS WX and 4 for Clearance by FSS, but when eiether option is slected I get a standby message very birefly and then it returns to 2 for FSS wx and 4 for FSS Clr but I am never able to make contact with FSS, also the option for getting clearance in the air is never available.

Hi, just bought RC and have licenced version of FSUIPC, but when i run RC after loading flight plan, my plane instantly crashes into what looks like water, and i get a message saying " Runtime Error 9...RadarContact.FSUIPC.rc4code". its probably something i havent set right, but i cant think what to do. Any help please someone. many thanks

If you have Project Magenta Boeing Suite, Radar Contact and WideFS this file may be of interest to you - automaterc4running.zip I have uploaded it to the FS2004 Utilities section. It describes how to launch RC4 via a button and for the plan in the CDU to be automatically loaded. It's ideal for those with a home cockpit who cannot easily launch FS-related programs. You can also set NOTAMS via the flight number and have a gate reserved at your arrival airport. My thanks to Pete Dowson for his help with WideClient.
