Hi Scott,Thanks for putting the V3 audio material on line. That recording utility is very nifty. However, as a personal choice, I believe the rationale exposed in the RC22/web/recording_voices.htm file is still very valid and faster than single file recordings. To that effect, I have produced a V3 pilot script file in 2 formats (Excel and html) similar to the one published in the RCV2 site and on the CD.Please feel free to grab the files and tweak them for your site if you wish. For all you folks who want them right now, there you go:[http://www.mcgill.ca/biology/staff/rlamar/v3pscript.htm]V3 pilot script html format][http://www.mcgill.ca/biology/staff/rlamar/v3pscript…

I have a simple question that I am sure has been asked about 1,000 times over. Be darned if I can find it here or on the web site though.I have decided to load RC ver.2 and required upgrades unto my FS2K2. I was going to wait for ver.3 but decided what the poop. Anyways when I tried to load the ver.2 disk it wanted the proper path for FS2. Guess what, no FS2 on my computer. So what must I do to get this puppy going? Also I will need the new key I would imagine. If this is top secret you can email me at [email protected],http://www3.telus.net/dport1/dansig.jpg

Hello All, I am having a ball with v2.2 of RC, with RCCP, but every once in a while my FS2002 quits because of the rccp.dll, at least according to Bill's XP PRO Event Log. I have tried the -OldModules- bit but it really doesn't seem to matter. (The forum doesn't like the bracket so I used parenthesis.) I wonder if anyone uses this RCCP on a system using XP PRO? Maybe Billy's code works differently on Win2000 or even Win98. Would appreciate any comments. Thanks

Hello JD, I seem to have run into a problem after a rather long time of enjoying FS2002, FSNav and RC2.2. Today, when I tried to run an adventure that I just ran last night, FS2002 would not load the RC adventure. The sequence of events was as follows: I brought up FS2002, loaded the FSNav exported version of the flightplan so I could make use of the FS2002 GPS and then tried to 'Select A File' in order to load the RC adventure. At this juncture FS2002 prompted me with a windowed message stating: Scenery Read Error! Attempting to open a nonexitent directory g:fs2002advwavcachefleetwooddt If I clicked on OK then another error message woud appear in …

I flew one of the RC samples (Davenport - Door Co.)last night and all went well,(except for busting my altitude restriction once, but then, I'm still learning) but I'm just wondering if the "chop at 11000" and that thunderstorm near Oshkosh were supposed to load with the adventure or do I have to set those parameters up myself. I never encountered any turbulence and the flight was clear and smooth all the way. Or, was I to just practice the maneuvers in case I encountered the weather problems for real. Did I load the adventure incorrectly? Thanks :-)

I see nothing in v.3 features that refers to ground control. Last night I tried a sample of v2 and LOVED it. However, I had a heck of a time finding my departure runway. Of course I didn't have the airport diagram as I was just trying out the sample. With the new v.3 of Radar Contact, will we have Ground and be given taxi instructions to the active and back to the terminal, or is this beyond the scope of v.3.?Thanks, and I intend to buy it regardless.Adam

Maybe premature but I ask this as I see that v2 requires several large downloads for wav files and such. My connection sucks, so it would be nice to be able to order the whole pkg on 1 cd/dvd.Thanks,Adam

Howdy all, Flying into a newly created airport RC ATC does not regonize the runways just says land runway 0. I used AFCAD by Swordly and creadted all the right files, I have no problem with FS 2002 ATC finding it and using it as the main runway. So it is there in the files. As a matter of fact, RC ATC calls out all the Comm Freq. that I creatd just fine and uses the ICAO code as well, just doesn't see any runways? Am I supposed to reconfigure RC in any way to see the runway or any body have any great Ideas. I am running RC 2.2 ThanksDave

I sent the following email to the address given in the pop-up window, but got it back as an invalid address. Could someone help?"I have recently re-installed Radar Contact after reformatting my hard drive. The program appears to run properly and licensed without a problem. However, when I just tried to compile my first adventure from FS Navigator, I got an error. The pop-up suggested checking for changes in a file, but I have made no changes. Attached is the advgen.log file, as requested. Looks like the error is "RC107 encountered". Thanks in advance for any help, Wilson"

I havn't used RC for over a year, but waiting for version 3.I believe you have to have a navigational aid within 40 dme of your destination airport in order for the program to have you arrive at the airport.I have been using fsnav 4.5 and have seen some flight plans which I have generated that the VOR is greater then 40 dme from the airport. Can version 3 use intersections or NDB instead of VOR.Hope this is not to confusing.Kenny G.

I've been away from flight simming for quite some time. Other interests and commitments have not allowed me the time to pursue my attention to simming, however, as times and commitments change, I find another opportunity to get back into flight sims. After a particularly nasty computer crash and resulting upgrade, I have purchased MSFS2K2. I have a registered copy of RCV V2, as well as MSFS2K. I need info on how best to install the newest version of Radar Contact into MSFS2K2. I have been unable to install RCV22 into the flight sim. Will someone please help??Brad StreeterKKLS

Hi all,I used the Abacus product, "Corporate Pilot" on MSFS2000, which used Radar Contact adventures. I rather enjoyed them and was wondering if anyone out there successfully migrated these adventures to MSFS2002 ( in addition to Radar Contact 2.2?).These adventures were great mostly due to having the printed approach plates and the rest of the stuff that came in the Corp Pilot manual. Is this impossible? Any suggestions? Thanks,BR

Hey guys,After reading all these posts about version 3, I'm thinking about taking the plunge and getting version 2.2. What do you guys think? A couple things though, will 2.2 owners have a reduced price for upgrade? Plus, I'm hearing about missed approaches and vectors and stuff; will it be about the same in 3.0 as in 2.2? I'm hearing the biggest difference in 3.0 is the interface and the interaction with MS ATC. Does it sound like a good idea to get 2.2?MaulWho Wants To Fly The Big Jets In & Out Of Chicago O'Hare...I DO! :-wave

Hi, Just thought I'd share a recent chat I had while flying the TEDY2 STAR from KORD to KPVD. It was in the wee hours of the AM and as I just entered the STAR I ran into a conversation with a Boston Center ATC member. We chatted for about 20 minutes, ATC wasn't too busy in fact, I found the controller extremely cordial during our conversation. As our chat was nearing the end I did ask the contoller why she was in such an interesting conversational mood, a mood not often encountered with ATC. Her response was that she was trying to improved her communications skills which she felt would not hurt her in her new position. So I asked her was she to be pro…

I have never used Radar Contact before so perhaps this exists even in V2. With the possibility of people recording the recently released scripts in different accents from around the world. Will assigning a particular accent to a part of the world or to a specific airline be relatively simple? Such as point and click or...?/

Hi all from Alaska. I fly for Westwind, and have been using (& learning) Radar Contact for about 2 months. All was well while flying Alaska routes with Dreamfleet 737. However, trying to use PIC 767, when I hit CSY, guess what?, I turn off the 'left bus' bus tie. This turns all power off unless the engines are running, and causes general consternation. I reviewed all the past posts, and only found one message relating to PIC, which mentioned nothing of this problem. Am I the only one out here with this problem, or is the solution so obvious I'm the only one that doesn't see it (won't be the first time!)? Apparently I need to redesignate CSY to another key stroke…
