Hi group!This is probably the wrong forum, but seems as good as any while installing rc. fsmeto 5.2, has a feature that will reduce the visiblity below what the metar says it is if its snowing/raining. I've noticed that even to I change the setting to say, 2 SM I'm still getting unlimited visibility when I go into rain/snow. Even fog/mist, where the visibility is suppose to be much lower.I'm using fsuipc 2.9.4, with its standard weather settings. I'm not sure if theres a setting i need to change in either FSM or fsuipc to get realistic visiblity. Or at least something less than unlimited.

OK I admit it, i'm just a big kid but I was on vacation when the current owner URL came out and I just placed my order on Saturday. At the close of the order I got the dreaded "please allow 2-4 weeks for delivery". Have any of you tried Frolov Oleksiy's Dash 8 panel with Otto?I contacted him in regards to it working with RC ver.3. Hello guys,I've just had a look into the RC3 Manual and I have to say I'm pretty impressed. :-) However before I can place my order I have to ask several questions, so here we go....1) How does RC3 handles ATC outside the US? I'm living in New Zealand and the rules are quite different. (i.e. NZ does not have Class B airspace)2) Does RC3 support 3rd-party AFCAD files? 3) I do not have a credit card, (E-commerce would do me no good here) so I must send a money order. Is there some sort of ordering form that I can fill in? If so please e-mail it to [email protected]

If 3rd party scenery does not match fs2k2 scenery LAT/LONG, or does not have exact same airport layout will there be problems with taxi adherance or does it not track your taxiing ?Greg

The threads below are confusing to me.Will RC 3 work with the PSS Airbus and 747 etc. I don't know enough about the program to understand the comm radio 2 issues, but those are all I fly.Greg

How real pilots deal with STARs and the IAPs? lets say I filed a plan that includes a STAR, when I am getting closer to my final destination, the controlers aknowledge that I am fliying a STAR? or do they give me the Vectors they want, no matter my original plan filed?2. For those having trouble purchasing RCV3 through Emetrix via their website this may help. After nagging John & Rick with several e-mails about not being able to complete my purchase transaction with Emetrix I did a little troubleshooting on my own. I discovered that my browser's security settings were to blame. If you're using IE as your browser make sure you have SSL 2.0 and SSL 3.0 checked under Tools/Internet Options/Advanced. Oddly enough this also explained a few problems we were having at work using Telnet and Windows XP Pro. You may like to know that a new version of this freeware toolset is available. Folks, I will soon be moving to FS2002 from FS2K and have already purchased RC V3. I understand that setting up AI traffic in FS2K2 is complex and time consuming. There are several "packages" out there that simplify setting up AI traffic. Could any one recommend which package I should buy: eg: My Traffic, FS Addon Manager for FS2002, other AI Flight plan packages. Many thanks in advance!

I'm using NAV 3 right now in prep for getting RC3. Are all products importing the same fix and procedure databases from FS2K2 and are all capable of being updated if necessary?

Hello team,I have read the thread on the Genral Forum site and I have to say that I am very pleased to read that now there is a good alternative for the deafault ATC.I did not even use that, but flew with Proflight 2000 in fs2002.That works very nicely till the final approach where it suddenly wants to vector you away form the runway.Sometimes it even lets you fly over the airport.Luckily we now have RC3.I have 3 questions :1 I fly with Game Commander. Is there a simple way to shut down the captains voice and throw in Game Commander ?Perhaps to attach Captains phrases to keypresses and that attached to Game Commander or so ?2 I have a Wideview based cockpit , so I do not …

Will there be anything similar to the RC Control panel for V3? For some of us it's more convenient to use mouse clicks than keyboard strokes (especially in a dark room on those "night flights"). Didn't see anything in the manual about it but I may have missed it.

:( After reading the section on holding patterns in the manual, I have a question:The example that is given is a hold at MEM. From what I gather, unless I'm reading it wrong, you are to start an outbound turn at the 40 mile fix. Does this mean that you start your pattern 40 miles BEFORE MEM? I thought you would start your outbound leg just over top of MEM and then fly away from MEM and back towards it again. If you have to start your pattern 40 miles before the waypoint, that's gonna be tough with DreamFleet, cause I think you can only hold AT a waypoint, not before it.I must be interpreting this incorrectly.Thanks, AdamP.S. Nice to see non-precision approaches as a new RC3 feature. Will there be any functionality other than just requesting a non-precision approach and getting permission from ATC to fly it? Will you be able to choose from a list of non precision approaches for an airport? If you request it, will approach control vector you on to the final approach course for say a VOR approach? Will you need to report "procedure turn inbound" if flying a full procedure using your own navigation? In general to what degree are non precision approaches modeled in RC3?

I would like to know if obtainaing a reg code is a one time deal after purchase, or will it be like with the other versions where I needed to re apply after new OS installs ?SteveCYYZ

Be carefull when updating Jeppesen Flitestar to version 8.51 using the data-update disk.After that update, Peter Dowson's FStarRC program is not functioning properly anymore (at least in my system)... :-eekIF you update, make sure that you have a backup of your old Flitestarversion for security.

Hi,I'm very interested in radar contact V3 but have several questions before purchase. I just want to add that I read the entire 180+ pages of the manual ;)- I'm using Project AI for trafic and i'm very pleased by this product which bring a very good atmosphere to FS2002 but I think RC3 is not capable of making project ai ATC alive, is that right ? because I don't want to use FSATC at all ...In other terms, if I want to keep my project ai sound environment, do I have to keep using FSATC ?- Is it fully compatible with PIC767 ?- What are the differencies between FSATC and RC3 in trafic managment ?- A trial downloadable version would be very cool, it's not a cheap program ;)…

I will preface my query by saying that I have downloaded the manual! I have perused it :-shy ...not read it in its entirety...Now on to my question... Will we be given different speed assignments on our approach like "Air Canada 1152, reduce speed to 230 Kts" Then later "Air Canada 1152 reduce speed to 200Kts"? Or do we just have to remain below 250 Kts below 10000ft for all phases of approach? Hi All,I am new to the RC world....and I have just taken my first flight with version 3. I found it to be more than what I have read.I took a short hop from GSO to ATL...I felt like I was getting real ATC.I do have some questions...I have read the manual...I might have missed something...1. Can new airline names be added?2. Changing voices...(Scott said he might write a program to do this)3. Why does FS ATIS come on when I ask for a WX briefing in RC4.
