Hello,I just completed my first orientation flight with RC3. Working great so far, I especially like the new interface. Although I've barely scratched the surface of this new progam's capabilities, I do have a couple of questions about the voices and chatter.Firstly, I have a full install of RC3. On a short flightplan from Lubbock, Texas (KLBB) to Dallas/Ft. Worth, I noticed what seems to be a computer synthesized voice (computer generated) on ATIS. The ground controller at Lubbock had a British accent, Lubbock Tower's Controller had another synthesized voice, and the Ft. Worth Center (LOW) controller had a flaming British accent. LOL, I thought all controllers…

Hello All,I was just sitting around here waiting for my copy of RC3 and had a thought...how many people have actually ordered this program? It seems so popular, I can't imagine how many followers Radar Contact actually has. Feel free to answer at your leisure and thanks.MaulWho Wants To Fly The Big Jets In & Out Of Chicago O'Hare...I DO! :-wave

Tower issued a go around for the ILS APP RWY01 into KDCA, that was ok, the odd thing is that the kept me on a heading of 010deg for abot six miles until I asked for vectors back to RWY01. Should I have been vectored to the left or right. I had the NOTAMS box checked for my arrival airport. Is this a minor bug or is there something that I ommited in my flight preparation.Simeon "Kroswynd" Richardsonhttp://www.flightsimnetwork.com/dcforum/Us...7a42c5b932f.jpg

I have tried the suggestions offered in prior messages and I still cannot get the 3D glasses to work in RCV3. Even if you are in full screen mode, which is required for the 3D glasses to work, the 3D goes off as long as the AdvDisplay is visible on the screen.I'm wondering if I am just doing something wrong. Has anyone been able to get 3D to work woth RCV3? If you have, please let me know how you have gotten around the AdvDisplay window on the screen. I have contacted both Peter Dowson and the E-Dimensional tech support people, and as yet, no one has come up with a solution. Thanks a lot,

Hello Folks, On page 28 of the RC3 manual the text states "Enroute checkpoint tolerance is 5 miles". On page 48 of the same manual it states "In order to be considered ""on the airway"" a pilot must remain within 4 nautical miles either side of the airway centerline". Before the onslaught of the FS type of so-called GPS's we all used two VOR receivers to aid us in maintaining VOR centerlines but this no longer holds for the GPS indicators that are now prevalent in FS. Unless we still use the VOR's as airway guidance tools, which the co-pilot does not, we can no longer be sure we stay within the defined airway as any significant crosswind can throw us off …

problem here. I loaded up RCv3.0 per directions (full install) last night. I thought about my first RC3 flight ALL day long. The anticipation was there. I was stoked! First, I've read (and read) the manual. I followed to the letter the instructions on page 108: I loaded FS2k2. Set my ERJ at KCLE gate D4, set the time and date. Using FSNav4.5, I entered my flight plan to KMDW (KCLE..SKY.VWVB.GSH.GSH3..KMDW). I exported the flight plan to FS2002 as per the instructions. I started FSMeteoe. Set my destination. I opened the flight planner and entered the flight plan into FS2k2. I then went to RC3 and, following the instructions, loaded my flight plan, set …

Hey guys,Just Got RC3 yesterday and am looking forward to getting up and running !As far as I can tell, all requirements have been met..(Modules ect.)The advdisp window is up. When I push for example #1 for atis..I see "Stand By." But no voice !UNTIL I right click which esentially pauses the sim.. THEN I'll hear all ATC voices fine !I'm not too clear on the COM1-2 thing and I think this may be the trouble.. Can anyone help a low time instrument rated pilot out !? :)Thanks !Walt,

Just wondering if their were any tutorials designed for single or twin props that may have landed on the cutting room floor during developement?I like flying the slower planes and would like to do some tutorials, if available. in that mode.Thanx,

I am having sound problems using RCv3. The .wav sounds for the pilot and controllers start to clip after a few minutes into the ground clearance process and gets worse throughout the flight. I am using FS2k2Pro, and ActiveSky 1.5. I'm also running in full screen mode (though it also happens in window mode) with WindowsXP Pro, Geforce 3 Ti 200, 512mb RAM, 1GHz P3, and SoundBlaster Live! Value sound card.Is anyone else having sound problems of any kind? Also the clipping sound goes away when I use the outside view. This happens with any plane, including the stock Cessna. Thanks,

Hello Michael, Bob, John, Scott and Larry, I do appreciate the excellent responses I've received from my previous post but thought I would try to answer all of your responses in this one new post. Thanks for understanding. To Michael: Yes I am learning to use the ATC option "when able". It allows me the latitude to fly a good approach and still make use of ATC.To Bob: I do realize trying to duplicate the RW ATC at very busy airports such as KORD is no simple programming task. I do not in any way claim to have the answer on how. All I have, from the RW, is a number of RW flightplans that we were able to coax AA pilots into giving us as we departed a number o…

I believe there is a conflict between RC 3 and FDC as it relates to key strokes of 1,2,3,4, etc. RC has ceased to function at times when using both programes simultaneously.

Since 80% of the time I fly ifr I am doing practice approaches-often at my home field, is there a way to do this with Rc? I tried making an ifr flight plan from my homefield to my homefield to see if once in the air I could request approaches-(e.g. kfnt to kfnt)-but this just seemed to send me in a continual vectored circle. Is there a way to do this-maybe make a flight plan to a fix or something and then once there request practice approaches?Thanks..http://members.telocity.com/~geof43/Geofdog2.gif

It appears that when the advdisplay is showing in full screen, which is required when using the 3D glasses, that 3D will not work until the display is docked and cannot be seen.Is this correct, or am I once again doing something stupid, or is there a workaround?I have also posted this question in the MS General Forum. Thanks a lot,

Ok, this is getting a little wierd. I am trying to get that green line to leave. Right click, then hit close, yep gone, wait came right back. I check FS2002 menu tab across top, nope, adv tab not checked in module. Ok finally get it to go. Then I go to module tab check the adv funtion there it is in the left. Size it, and then dock darn where did it go. Oh, no the green thingy is back. Ok, this true scenerio is driving me crazy can't read half the stuff in the green line but don't want to have both the green line an black box up that I can't even dock. Second, flying ready to rest and save, can't get the rcv3 off of the bottom line to save, is there a special ke…

Hello, Received V3 yesterday and installation was a charm. The RC folks responded very quickly with the key. While awaiting the installation I realized that my point of view of RC vectoring was very narrow. I asked the RC programmers to give us an option to provide our own vectors. In all this time I failed to realize that they indeed DID provide us this option. Simply file a plan with NOTAMS enabled for both Departure and Arrival. Thus my problem is a non issue now because I will ALWAYS file the flightplan with both NOTAMS enabled and ALWAYS ignore both Departure and Approach ATC vectoring. This will allow me to fly safely following published charts and …

In RC2.2 I could hand over COMMS to the copilot right away, just wondering if it works the same with RC3? (I just installed RC3 and am waiting on the key) :) Can't wait to try it out.

Maybe this is a dumb question or I am missing something, but I have reviewed the RC 3 manual (received the CD but have not installed it yet as I am upgrading MB/CPU) and there is no mention of a crew addon. I loved 2.2 with FltCrew as it added realism. Will FltCrew wavs work with RC 3 or is there another similar addon? DF 737 has crew announcements built in, I was asking for those occasions I fly other aircraft. As soon as upgrade MB/CPU is finished I am looking forward to ATC with AI, you guys are the best!Thanks.FL_Flyer

Just got my CD in the mail. It is installing on my primary machine right now. The question is, I am using a second machine and WideFS to run FS Meteo and a moving map. Will I also be able to install RCV3 on that machine legally? I don't always use that machine when I fly but I want to have the option to use RC on either machine.ThanksDavid

I just received my copy and am looking forward to using it! One thing I'd like to know is will it work on a second computer using WideFS? It would be really nice if it does! Thanks!David

John,I have to tell you I hesitated to upgrade to RC3 because I grew tired of 2.2 relatively quickly. I remember the early days (version 1?)when the vectoring rarely worked quite right yet you kept plugging away until it did. Still, the menus and keys were cumbersome and it never seemed quite flexible enough.Well, RC3 is a different beast altogether! I can sure see why it isn't a download anymore. Huge! And my first flight was flawless, fun, and realistic. And, no, I didn't do the tutorials or read the manual and yet I found it so intuitive that I had no problem. Even changed my destination enroute just for fun. Very cool! I even had some concerns about the registration p…
