I've been getting some strange behavior from RC that just started recently. I run it over my network and haven't changed or installed anything. It started with some short flights less than 100nm. I would get handed off to approach, and then approach would never give me clearance to descend or vectors. It would just let me keep flying past my last checkpoint. It did this on 2 different flights. Today, while flying a longer flight from KLAX to KATL, I would hit the assigned key to transfer to a different controller, and then nothing would happen. The pilot wouldn't call up the controller to check in. I hit control-shift-K to switch comms to the copilot and then he would…

Just wondering: in FSX it is possible to have default ATC through headphones and general aircraft sounds through speakers. Is there any way, through INI settings or somewhere else, to have RC4 sound similarly ONLY through headphones e.g. choose different sound device for ATC? I ask because in some aircraft, like Aerosoft Twin Otter, the engine noise is so loud that it drowns out the RC4 ATC, even if I turn down the FSX Engines sound slider. Cheers, Stuart Hyett

I had atc chatter for awhile during the first flight but now it is gone even though I have it checked in the interface. I do get the AI chatter but not the installed atc chatter files. Any ideas as to what happened????? Thanks Nels

Tried to buy it on the company website. It gave me my order #, but it never charged my card or responded in any way to my inquiries. Too bad because it looked like a great program.

Hi I have recently reinstalled Radar Contact on a networked laptop after using a couple of the other ATC programs on the market as it seems to be the least problematic. I have had a couple of problems while taxying lately. I was given runway 08R during taxi instructions at London Gatwick and was following an AI aircraft to that runway holding point, I then noticed AI aircraft landing in the opposite direction on runway 26L. Secondly, on another occasion I was taxying up to a 'T junction' on the taxiway about to turn right and noticed a AI aircraft about to taxi past my nose from left to right. Hi There finally got Radar Contact up and running and many thanks to everyone who gave me assistance with the activation key. I have copied the tutorial flight plans into the correct directory where they should be but when I go into the load flight plan option in FSX they are not shown. I have noticed that the plans that do show have an associated .flt with the .pln file but the tutorial .pln files don't. Any ideas anyone? Mike

Hi all, been a few days since I requested a activation key. Not sure if I caught the dev on vacation.

Purchased Radar Contact 4.3 on Tuesday 25th and I still have not received my activation key. Hope someone can rectify this problem sooner than later because this is totally unacceptable to all customers buying this product. Can someone please help me?

This may have nothing to do with RC, but I can't think what else! I am flying the default Baron in UK (northern Scotland) - at the start of a round the world trip. I am setting the standard pressure when RC clears me to flight level 50, 1013mb (29.92 inches). But then the autopilot levels the plane at 4520 on the altimeter, when I obviously have the a/p set at 5000! Naturally RC complains am not at altitude, so I have to add on 500 to the a/p to achieve FL50! The other day I was flying at 4000 and then the a/p was levelling the aircraft at 3960. But then I hadn't realised I should have been at standard pressure setting. I was still around the given airfield press…

Hi, Has anyone tried to run RC4 on Windows 8.1 64-bit OS? My RC4 was running on Win7 64-bit previously but failed to open on Win8.1. There is no error messages appear in event log and even the splash screen did not show up. Thanks

Does someone know what would cause program icons to be lost? I have recently noticed that the RC4 radar icon is no longer reflected on my desktop. The shortcut is still there, but just has default non-program icon. When I select 'properties' and 'change icon' I can see the radar icon, but when clicking 'apply' and 'OK' nothing changes. I did have some problem opening the program (nothing happened), before the icon disappeared, but now the program still seems to open properly, but the icon has gone. Is this a Windows issue, or a problem with the 'exe', and does anyone know how to resolve? Stuart

Most of the time RC4 will completely ignore any STARs you give it just before the final approach, and instead line you up with the runway the way it wants you to. Is there a way to get RC4 to actually let you use the STARs without yelling at you for trying to follow the procedure?

Hi, after reinstalling the FS came the new installation of radar contact. However, my key request does not work. I have tried all the things from the forum. Unfortunately, I get no reply e-mail with the key. I have also written to JD, he did not register with me. Should I buy the program again? Or do you have alternatives to Radar Contact? regards Bernd

I am thinking of purchasing RC. I know that it needs to have a flightplan to work and I currently fly a lot with Ifly 737 in FS2004. Could I export a flightplan from Simbrief into MSFS format, program the Ifly FMC with the same flightplan manually, and use the MSFS format for that route in RC ? will that work ? I am trying not to purchase separate flightplanner software, but trying to use RC with my Ifly 737

A new computer has me once again re installing tons of stuff and very high on the list was Radar Contact. Last night I reinstalled and used the built in function to request a key. I have received no key, my email has not been returned as undeliverable and you are white-listed Nothing in the spam folder either. Hello, I'm having the same problem with emails not being delivered. In my case, I'm trying to get the download link delivered via email. I ordered the electronic delivery and cd. I've sent a request to help_at_jdtllc.com and it got bounced back with the same delivery message as shown in many of the recent posts. JD, this morning, I sent another email to you requesting the same download link and included my order number. I don't know if this latest email will be bounced, but if possible, I would like to get the link emailed to me. I'm familiar with the Radar Contact method to fly a STAR that contains altitude restrictions, but don't know how to do it when flying a SID (DP). A good example is the SHEAD8 out of KLAS. There are several altitude restrictions but RC assigns altitudes above the restrictions and then continues to chide me for not getting high enough or leveling off beforehand. Is there a way to change this in RC? I've used the NOTAM but that doesn't seem to make any difference since the clearance is to a higher altitude? Thanks.
