JD,I resolved my previous problem with the flight plan as suggested by you. I guess the plan itself was in error. This morning I tried again to load a different flight plan and it loads ok. The text box appears in as it should with the prompts for clearance and for weather briefing. However I am unable to unpause the sim to go on. MSFS2K2 seems to not be accepting key strokes. I have to hurry and go off to work and did not have time to experiment more. Probably something I am doing wrong.I start the simulator, pause it, and then start RC3. Is that the wrong procedure?Bob

  3. RCV3. Part 1, "bent airway". If anyone has the L10 low ifr chart, I am flying V78 (R85 from GEP) from north suburban (of Minneapolis in Class B near 20 nm ring) Anoka County, MN (KANE) to Eau Claire, WI. (KEAU). Using NAV 3, I entered the enroute waypoints. The is no waypoint at the "bend" (indicated by an "X" on the chart). The distance from the direction change to surrounding points is the same (11nm).If I fly the route chart to stay on the airway, the controller complains that I am off. I assume that airway points then are all direct as far as NAV 3 and RC are concerned. Do I need to create a waypoint where the direction changes? Is it legal to fly off the published a…

Hey all: Ordered RC3 on Monday, received it on Saturday! Not bad. Hadn't read the manual, so I read it on Saturday eve and asked for key right before midnight. Went to sack, figured I might fly Monday after work. Got up Sunday morn, key was there! Well, couldn't find time to fly until today, had intended to just try a departure. Cranked out a 45 min flightplan, KBFI to KCOE in my Bravo. Thought I would fly until I messed up so badly it was no way, but flew entire flight! Lots of fun! Filed for FL370, but was never above 350. Big tail wind in west tonight, was making almost 475 knots, so TOC and descent came real soon, only 40 minutes from Seattle to Spokane.…

The reason I ask is I did a flight from KSEA to KPDX and I was asked to descend from FL120 to 4000. I descended at 1200fpm. What happend was, ATC then had me drop to 2000 which would have buried me in the hills. Could the problem have been that since my descent rate was higher than normal and farther out from the airport? I like to dial my own frequencies so I DON'T select "tune on contact" in options. However, it appears I have to select this option in order to get weather and my clearance from FSS (over the phone)at non controlled fields. Otherwise I just get the static sound. So am I overlooking something or will I have to start with "tune on contact" selected for flights originating at non controlled fields and then pause the flight and change options to continue without "tune on contact" selected?I apologize if this is explained in the manual. If so, I missed it.

I have finally gotten RCv3 to work properly by updating my sound drivers for the SoundBlaster Live! Value card. I had to download the latest drivers direct from Creative Labs. I was previously using the drivers that WinXP Pro provided. Since the update performance has improved tremendously even without RCv3 running. I can't believe that how smooth FS2k2 is with the new sound drivers. Now everything sounds great and the controllers no longer speak slowly. I was suffering from extremely slow controller voices and extreme clipping. Now it is really smooth.I have noticed that when the clouds appear I get light clipping that gradually increases to extreme clipping. I have tone…

I read a statement in the RC3 manual that there is a way to make airport specific chatter. I see how to make regional (Center area specific chatter) but don't see how to make individual airport chatter. Can anyone please clarify how to do this? Thanks.

I think I did see an article about this somewhere here but can't find it.I have a spare 233 computer under foot and I was thinking it might be a good idea to do it.Not understanding networked computers....would the programs on one eg: RC on the 233 be controlled by the keyboard of the other computer while using FS2002? would they both need to have the same operating systemWhat would be needed to complete this kind of set up?

Any idea what gives here???I flew last night and everything else went great. STL-LNK TWA 623 in a Flight1 Iron Knuckles DC9-31. Hi:I am trying to use both combinations above, making sure I start RCV3 first then FDC, but I am having a lot of problems. The first is that in ADV display, when I hit 1 to get my ATC the message on the ADV display keep running like crazy repeating itself, and it is kind of blocking or freezing FS2K2 to do anything meanwhile. EXP: punching numbers on the heading or level of the panel. However the sound is clear and very normal for RCV3 and FDC which make me think that every thing is running properly at the background, but it kind of take a long time to respond. What I was using is Posky B767-200 + PIC panel + RCV3 + FDC.I made sure that all other programs are close at the ba…

What can I say?? After having nothing but the built in ATC for months at last I have got some "real" instructions to follow. No more climbing straight up to 31000' or dropping like a stone to 2500' and I've only scratched the surface so far. Anyone who is new to RC take my advice and don't try to do everything at once when you get this programme. I was tempted to fire it up first time with default ATC, FDC, FSMaintenance etc all running with it but in the end I decided to just go with FSMeteo and RC and work my way through the tutorials and I'm so glad I did. This is going to keep me busy for months on end, today I'm doing one of my own flights with default ATC going…

Hi JD,Having read the RCv3 manual again, I'm now sitting around waiting for the 24th ;(8I still have one question:What is the foreseen way to change Pilot Voices? (Ruthanne, JD ,Rick Thompson, Bob Johnson, Jeff Evans, David Gaffney, Michael or Juliana Jastrzebski, Phil Dant, Sara Thompson). In v2.2 I run batch files to copy the appropriate WAV's into the right dir, so by the click of a shortcut-icon I can assign Dave Morris, JD, Jamie, or G.J Bogaerts to be my "Otto".

Hi All,In case there are other people out there as dense as I sometimes am *:-* I thought I would pass something on to you. I am using Flight Assistant :-halo for all of my RCV3 commands and I was happily creating verbal commands for all of the menu items, tons of them, and assigning keys 1 - 9 whatever the command key was for the command. :( All of a sudden my brain actually cut in :-rotor and said 'Hey! Just do one thru nine and assign 1 - 9 to each one and thats it! Ten commands, including 0 instead of 1010 commands.' Read the RCV3 menu and just say whatever number it is you want, 1 - 9. The verbel command then executes. :-beerchug The above thought proceedure is …

Together with RC30 I ran FsMeteo online. What happened? When checking the weather both through RC30 and FsMeteo there was a surfacewind of 10 Kts/200
