Guys:I ordered RC3, and while waiting for it to arrive I read the manual, and checked out the forum to see if there were any issues that I should expect. After reading the forum, I figured that I was going to be spending some time tweaking my set-up to get RC3 to work right. Well, I am happy to report that I have experienced absolutely no problems (probably just cursed myself there). I love the program (I am a convert from Pro Flight 98&2000) and highly recommend it. Hello Gang!I finally had an opportunity to test Radar Contact version 3 in the midst of all the X-Mas shopping and stuff.I created a flight plan from KDFW to KAUS on an American Eagle ERJ-135. The whole planning and flight preparation process went without a hitch and was actually far much more cleaner tha version 2. Hi JD,my problem is that sometimes I miss a waypoint for just a tic of maybe 0.2nm, but still miss it and have ti return to get it. So why do I miss a waypoint? Weather wind is so strong! It doesnt matter if otto flys or a GPS driven AP or a FMC. Can I alter anywhere the area in which I have to be about a waypoint, so it will count as passed?Do I make any sence? I dont wanna fly holdings cause I cant make a waypoint close enough.Ciao, Torben.

HiI have so far done 10 flights with RCV3 and I do enjoy the program. I can actually determine teh point on my STAR where RC will want me to be at 10k and plan ahead with my FMC etc.However, the problem (or mabye lack of luck) is that every single time I come in to land, and get clearance to land, I am told to "go around". This happened ALL 10 TIMES!!!!!. Frankly its getting tiresome now. In about 4 out of the 10 times I was told to go around TWICE...that is, after going around the first time and being vectored back and told "cleared to land" I am told to go around again. With the other 6 times, I was able to land after going around once.Am I just unlucky with the random …

I still use RC 2.2. When flying over Canada, I have no chatter at all. It is getting quiet boring on these longhauls from Europe to the western US...When I had RC 2.2 installed on my old computer, there was the default american chatter in canadian airspace as well.Can somebody help me?

I have used RC3 now for a week. It shows promise but I think we need to do something about the speech. It is slow and difficult to understand especially as FSK2 ATC breaks through in rapid and clear English. This brings me to the point of this post. If FSK2 can have clear ATC (if limited in functionality) why cannot RC3 be clear and use proper place names like FSK2 does in "Cleared to the Vancouver airport" not "Cleared to the Charlie - Pause - Yankee - pause - Victor - pause - Romeo" as RC3 does? Cannot the SDK for sound be used? :(

While I'm flying from canary islands back to central europe, a strange behaviour of RC3 comes up:Starting on GCRR with lot of marvellous spanisch live chatter, the part of flight over the atlantic ocean seemed to be a little quiet.Ok, keep waiting.Turned along the west african coast, the synthetic chatter came up - so far, so good.But not very long: now I'm flying over spain and reach the french borderline, but there's nothing to here anymore.RC is still working, I get instructions and hand-offs, I hear the "dings" - but either spanish live chatter (which worked fantastic during my last flight to LEPA) nor synthetic chatter.Of course, chatter slide bar is set to '5' (btw:…

Hello, The RCV3 manual, page 78, gives the rationale for choosing alternate airports. The previous page lists the minimum conditions which should exist at any or all of the two or three airports. My question is: Supposed you are on a 12-14 hour trip from Europe to the US West Coast and by arrival time all three of the chosen airports have either CATII or CATIII conditions. A decision has to be made to use one of these three airports as you may not have enough fuel to reach a third alternate. If the above CATII or CATIII conditions now exist why not simply choose the first airport? (I don't have FAR121 available as my FAR-AIM manual does not cover FAR121.) …

Hi everyone,I am having trouble to return to the main menu once I pressed "ctrl-shift-p" to display the flight plan. In fact, I am totally screwed then, because there is no way to return to any other menu.The documentation states that pressing "0" returns to the AdvDisplay main screen, but it doesn't work for me. I tried other keys (8-prev, 9-next) too, but no luck either ... Does anyone else experience the same problem ?Thanks,Dirk

Hi, all.I've re-installed RCv3 for FS2002 twice now, one full and one with no chatter and am missing tutorial #5. Everything is fine up to where tower hands me off to departure.Tower tells me to contact departure at 125.50, I acknowledge, manually change the frequency and try and contact departure.Departure never responds and tower just keeps telling me to contact departure. After a minute or two tower, tells me to contact center, and the center screen appears, but I can'nt contact any one!I have auto reply off and manual tuning on RC3.Help!!!Tony in Miami.

Hi guys,yesterday I found out a very strange behaviour of FSMeteo:I prepared all pre-flight components for a flight with my PIC767 from EDDB to GCRR, started FSM and entered the 'GCRR' in the destination airport input field.Back to my panel I recognized an annoying graphical stuttering for about two or three seconds every 12 or 15 seconds.Regarding to WindowsXP Pro's taskmanager, FSMeteo uses at least 75 until 95 percent at this time.But this happens only, when 'GCRR' or something similar ('GCFV'...) is defined as destination airport in FSM.If I enter 'EDDF', 'EDDM', 'KLAX' or leave the destination unchecked, FSM works quiet and calm like it has always done.Has anybody an…

Maybe this is in the manual and I have missed it...I assume that RC3 uses the default airport and frequency data from MSFS. I have come across a few airports such as my own KBHB where most of the frequencies are not what they should be & it adds in a ground and tower freq (the field is has no tower)... I know that I can change it in the settings, but why would this be happening. The default MSFS ATC has the right info so where would it be getting switched and is there a way for me to fix it so I dont have to manually change all of the ones I find?Oh a quick side question. HiMaybe i have overseen something, but how should one turn the plane during push-back?? In the old days before RC vers. 3, you hit 1 or 2 depending on what direction you want to turn, but... - instead one e.g. get ground control... Have you assigned some other buttons? I had a look in the assignements, buty yours had overwritten whatever it said before..Is there a workaround??

Is there a way to reassign the default ATC window popup to use the adventure display window popup? I presently have a button assignment on my yoke to bring up the ATC window. I would like to have the same thing happen for the Adventure Display. JD and RC Team.Could you add to your FAQ page the initial setup for users (ie. getting the sound to not be so slow, etc) so people who just installed RCv3 have a "how to" guide in the FAQ?

I too am having problems with sound. I can however hear ....1. The test call sign and flight number in RC32. The weather briefingHowever, I cannot hear any other RCv3 sounds.I am running a Creative Soundblaster Audio PCI128D sound card.Any suggestions?

Someone mentioned an idea to have a switch for Avdisp show/hide. Great idea. Is there a keyboard entry to accomplish same ? It looks like everything works just fine with the thing hidden, so perhaps some sort of cheat sheet could be made. I am running three PC's using Wideview for left & right front views. I don't think there is a way to operate Wideview and WideFS simultaneously is there ?

Hi JD,I would like to say how much I enjoyed the subject tutorial, beauty of them all is the amount of variables, you can play for hours!Only problem is getting enough time to do it! Oh well, back to the grind. :-)One little problem I noticed, with the default 737-400 there is no clock available to check the EFC time, had to call up Time & Season.

Did anyone of Europe get RC3 yet? Germany?I guess many of US citisen got it already. But I wonder how long it takes from US to Europe and more so to Germany. I am still waiting. I have been in US some years ago and know it relay takes its time sending snailmail to germany. But maybe that has improoved by now...Cheerst_a_h
