Well, I finally got to meet Mr. Bill and, let me tell you, it was definitely not my fault. (Really, believe me and read on :-) ) I was pushing back from KMSY on my way back to KSTL in my Flight1 Iron Knuckles DC9 (Ozark) and after I got the engines started, flaps set, and completed my pre-taxi check list, I contacted ground. Ground told me to taxi to runway 10 and I auto responded. Ground then immediately told me to contact tower at 118.something. Huh? I'm just barely away from the gate! The auto respond feature contacted tower who told us to taxi into position and hold short. (I'm still taxiing up the taxiway, guys). Then, I'm told to "Get off the runway, 340 Go…

Hi,We have what will seem like a minor problem to most. However to us, its bigger. We are using RC3 in our homebuilt sim and love what it brings to the realism factor. A problem we have is once we take off, tower tells us to contact departure but fails to give the frequency. This appears to be the only time RC fails to give the frequency. As we have actual com panels that we manually tune, we have set up RC so to allow for this under options. But the failure for departure to give the frequency makes things quite difficult for us especially since we are in no position to see the AdvDisplay text. Could a patch or something addressing this issue be developed? Thanks,Michael

I tried to set up a flightplan for learning to fly holding pattern at Biggin using DF734.However, Center will not give me the option for Holding pattern or Delay Vectors, but will always give me delay vectors, although holding option is set to 100%, BIG(115.10) VOR is the last waypoint and Otto is sleeping. My flightplan is EHAM to EGLL @15000 (Alt1-EGSS, Alt2-) / EH029.VALKO.DVR.LYD.TIGER.BIGCan someone tell me why I do not get the option to choose Holding Pattern at BIG?Bert

HiReplace my Ensoniq sound card with a Creative Aidigy Gamer on Friday and re-installed RCC3.I made the batch file to start rcv3 for Win98 and tried a flight fromKlit to Kbna. The sound worked and everything was going along fine until I got my taxi instuctions to the runway and told to hold short and contact tower. When I pushed number 1 to contact tower the text changed, but no instruction or sound. I was given the choice to abort takeoff with number 2. I pushed 2, but still no voice. I finally shut down everything and started over again. This time the same thing happened no sound from tower, so I taxied on the runway and held and then I got sound telling me cleared for …

Hi all, this is my next problem:Because fltcrw is no longer supported (i think so) i decided to run s-combo. Normaly in fs2002 it works fine, but together with rc3 it crashes the whole fs2002 during takoff. Exactly at the time when s-combo says: "80 knots". This happens at every aiport i've tested.Does anyone of you have an idea. Is there another addon that works like fltcrw ??Thanks and best regards,Carsten

I was wondering how RC V3 handles SIDS and STARS. Do you have to build them into the flight plan? If so how do you find out which SID/STAR is in use at an airport in the real world? If you are on a long haul flight say 11 hours the STAR is going to change due to weather, so how do you find out what STAR is in use?Does RC v3 issue you a SID (as in 'clipper 248 after takeoff fly ELMAA SIX') or does it just clear you on to each waypoint one at a time? (Same question with STARS) What if your flight planner does not include SIDs and STARS and you have to insert each waypoint in the SID manualy, does RC3 recognise that as a SID or just treat it as part of the flight plan? Does …

I installed your program, "Radar 3", but I didn't really care for it so I uninstalled it, and thats when my problems began. The MS ATC, now when doing VFR won't work. Its comes up, but when you select a numbers for taking off south etc, Nothing works. When I uninstalled radar 3 program could it have left something in MS thats causing the problem. Any help to get back to normal is appricated.jim

Hi folks, yesterday i've got my copy of rc3. Installed it and just started the first adventure. Then the first chatter from rc3. What ist that ?? It sounds not even better as in rc2. Compared to the FS2002 standard atc-chatter it is not worth to talk about. The next point is that i have to switch to com2 to have rc3 and fs2002 chatter. And why must i give my request's first to the fs2002 atc and then to rc3 (as explained in the manual). I don't believe that it is like in reality...So i don't now exactly what to do. Maybe try again and have more luck..Cheers,Carsten

Well replaced my old single channel sound card (RipTide) with a new SoundBlaster Live 5.1 card ($69US) and also had to buy a new modem card because the old one I had was a COMBO card and had both integrated in it. So, for about $150US I am back flying with FS2K, and RCV3, and have all the audio, from all channels! This is great and I even got my rear end chewed out landing in Chicago (KDSN -> KORD)for exceeding speeds below 10K. I would have done that but I could not understand the foreign ATC (maybe a Brit) and his instructions. Nothing against the Brits but, could not understand the transmission here. No big thing, I was so excited I had it working again that I listen…

I wonder how to fly VFR with RC3. Please could someone give me lite into that? I tried to read the manual but well, english is not my first language...Does it matter if I setup a flightplan with FS2k2 planner in VFR or IFR so RC knows that I will not stay on course, but fly just like weather dictates me to fly?CiaoTorben.

Hello all, I made some flightplans for RC3 with NAV3 and SFP, NAV3-plans are recognized by FS2002 but SFP-plans not!I guess it has something to do with the format of SFP-plans? By the way: I always save the SFP-plans to FS2002FlightsMyflts and the export-function is also tried/used, but in the export-list is no FS2002 choice. Can someone help me with this?Bye,Bol ( The Netherlands )

This is another incomplete flight. KDX to KSEA IFR Airbus as before. I checked the weather a couple of times while at cruise altitude. Then suddenly about 30 miles out of Seattle I am told "You missed your crossing restiction turn 360 etc". I did not turn, because I did not know of any crossing restiction, and just flew on over the airport at cruise with no input from RC3. I never was told to descend etc for approach, but at some point when checking weather, the runway in use 36L came up in the box. I am betting that when I was off for weather, RC3 send me the information to descend etc for approach, but I never heard it. Could this be an error?PS headphones and Game co…

Hi,As with my previous problem, I have done many flights to be sure that I have this new problem. And its the same every time.My Problem:The destination weather in FS and the destination weather shown on FSMeteo are always completely different. This has also happened on every flight that I have taken with RC. I ignored it at first, but the problem started getting more pronounced. For example, last night I did a flight from KDTW to KEWR. Radar Contact automatically sets up the "lock destination weather" feature of FSMeteo. The weather said winds of 280 and 10ks, clear skies and 10SM visibility. RC vectored me to Rwy 22L, quite correctly. However, that weather never made it…

Hi friends, what i do usually do is planning a flight using FSNavigator v4.51.After that i save the flightplan and export it to FS2002 (for FS2002 ATC). As a weather generator i use FSMeteo v5.2 that i run on a networked machine via WideFS along with Radar Contact. That way i get both RCv3 and default FSTAC via COM2!!!Now the question:when i plan a new flight i usually insert a SID or create a new one if the airport hasn't one :-(Is there a way to know exactly wich runway will ATC clear me for takeoff without listening to ATIS? Most medium-small airports have no ATIS... If i'd exactly know the runway i could build a correct flightplan.Suppose i'd look at wind direction, but…

A couple of times I've starting getting radar vectors (I'm already using notams) to my selected runway (in the RC Controller Destination options) before the menu posts giving me the opportunity to select the approach type and runway selection of my choice. I ignore the vector since it would take me off course to the IAF or nearest waypoint to it which I include in the flight plan anyway. One such approach is coming in from the NW to KGRB by flying to the GRB VOR, the OB on R195 to the FAMIS IAF/LOM GR for going OB on the ILS for the PT. I start getting vectors prior to GRB.Any ideas other than just ignoring it?

I hope jd will forgive this semi-off-topic and shamelessly self-promoting post :-lol but I've noticed a few Dash-8 fans amongst RC3 users. I've just uploaded 70 real-world Dash-8 flight plans in PSS *.route format. They should become available from the libraries at AVSIM.com and flightsim.com, and the User edits page from the Phoenix site during the next day or two.So that they can be used in RC3, the zip file contains a set of identical plans in *.pln format. There are a few international flights but they're mostly UK internal - the perfect opportunity for those who want to try something different to explore some of the UK's lesser-known regional airports.PeteP;http://jd…

I have installed RCV3 to FS2002 using the full installation. I am using Windows 98 with Pentium 2 processor. I start FS2002 and load flight plan created with FSNav 4.5, then load weather. I then start RCV3, load the flight plan. I have everything set according to the manual for RC. When I go to FS, the advdis box shows up. It shows weather and CD options. I hit 1 and the ATIS shows in box and audio plays. When I select #2 for CD, it says standby, then slelect runway shows in box. I get no audio whatsoever after the ATIS plays. It seems like RC is going through the motions of working because text in display box changes each time you make a selection(1 or 2), just no audio.…
