The Shuttle Columbia disintegrated on re-entry this morning, and there was a reported crash 100 miles South of Dallas. The shuttle was videotaped streaking over Texas breaking apart. So far speculation is that there was a full hydraulic failure.Very sad day.

Just my .02, but the three things I like most:1) Level of detail! FS ATC always made me feel like I was an actor following a prewritten script. With Radar Contact I feel like I'm really in control (no pun intended) of what happens. The attention to detail of the dev team is outstanding.2) Intermediate clearances. No more cleared from the runway to FL 350- ATC brings me by steps all the way up and all the way down.3) Takeoff vectors. I love when tower tells me to fly 340 off runway 36. I'll buy a beer for whoever thought to include this small detail! The things I like the least:1) Advdisp. Although a capable and functional utility, it still feels like a bit of a klud…

Hi,I am having a problem with the default ATC and RC3. I cannot hear FSATC on Comm 2.Example:I have selected Comm 2 on the Audio panel, "BTH" off. Then I open the ATC window and choose ATIS. FS2002 changes Comm 2 to the ATIS frequency. But I cannot hear anything. Then I am using Comm 1 with the same frequency and everything is working.I am also not able to talk to ATC when I am using Comm 2. With Comm 1 it's no problem.Maybe I've missed something???Best regards,Tomp.s. I have also changed all RC keys to CONTROL+SHIFT

I am also interested in Radar Contact to replace the weak stock ATC. However, I'm concerned with the copy protection scheme used by RC3. I seem to recall having read that you have to use a PC-locked serial, and maybe also have the CD in the drive periodically or permanently? Is that true? Can you precisely describe what are the constraints coming along with purchasing and using RC3?Thanks.Eric.

Hello,I'm a new user of RC3 and I have a problem which is major to me. I have an airport that I made for FS98 and have imported over to FS2K2. It is located right behind my real house(Lat/Long) and I use this airport as my home airport when flying GA aircraft. How can I get RC3 to recognize it as a valid airport either controlled or uncontrolled?FS2K2 recognizes it, FSNav 4.5 recognizes it and I even made changes to it with AFCAD. I make and fly FS flight plans from and to it fully controlled, but when I try to use RC3, it doesn't seem to recognize it and give me the menus described on pages 25 and 26 in the RC Manual.I really would like to be able to fly in and out of …

When I try to open that file I get (windows cannot open this file: To open this file, Windows needs to know what program created it).I have changed the other files and have hit a wall now.Thanksmaxsdadhttp://jdtllc.com/images/RCsupporter.jpg

HiThe only thing stopping me from ordering Radar Contact is the fact that, so I've heard, it doesn't recognise the default AI.Is this correct? If so, will future versions be able to overcome this?I can't stand the default ATC any longer, but like the crowded skies.Or is it just not worth worrying about?Any advice would be gratefully received.Cheers!Gavin

Hi, I have a question about RC3 functionality. I would really like to purchase it after the flightsim.com review I read, but I'm wondering how RC3 works with SID/STAR's. If I program these into the PSS Airbus flight computer will RC3 recognize it and in the case of a STAR vector me to the runway approach afterwords? In other words, FS2002 does not allow to use SID's or STAR's but since the PSS aircraft have this info I'd like to use them and want to know if RC3 will allow for it. Thanks.

Is there a way to control the volume of the voices other than turning down the speakers. When I have the voices at a comfortable level for me, I can no longer hear the FS2002 sounds. Do the FS2002 sound sliders control RCv3, and which ones? Thanks.

  20. I need help from someone that can tell me how to select a runway after a declaring a missed approach. Specifically in the case where the runway used is not the one assigned by ATC.Here is a scenerio:As I contact approach, I'm told to expect vectors for runway X. I then use the menu to select the runway that MS ATC is using, call it runway Y.If I declare a missed approach and then say I want vectors for a new approach, RCV3 tells me to expect vectors for Runway X. I've sequenced through the menu and I can't find an option to get to runway Y. I have to change from vectors to IAP, then I can choose runway Y via the appropriate IAP.In summary, it appears RCV3 always sends you…

A few weeks back, a thread (that I cannot seem to find now) discussed that some users had noticed that after installation of RC3 the visibility would momentarily change to infinite when they changed views. It was more or less concluded that AdvDisp had something to do with it, and someone mentioned that he had discussed the matter with Pete Dowson. There was no final conclusion or solution at that point. In the meantime, I have investigated the matter into some depth, and have found that:1. Not only visibility is affected, winds are too.2. It only happens when AdvDisp is docked or when an undocked AdvDisp window is moved or resized. This I reported to Pete about a week ago,…

Never thought that i should be happy about MS-ATC, but it saved my life today... Shortly before landing at Calgary, i heard this "SQUURP"-sound and then total silence from Radar Contact. No commands, complaints or chat or anything - just a noisy silence.Minimizing the simulator and clicking at the minimized RC-icon, i got this box saying:Runtime-error 5Invalid Procedurecall of program Then clicked at the MS-ATC button and let that take over and i was able to make the rest of the trip - guided. OK - strange thing's goes on at Calgary. Myself and a few others were sent to rwy 34, but others - mainly Cessnas were sent to rwy 16, but eventhough Bill tried his best, i didn'…

When flying and approaching destination, I leave the frquency to check weather. How close to the destination do I have to be to get the surface conditions, rather than the outside conditions at the time?Approaching BDA yesterday afternoon at 2000' the outside temperature was quoted as -5. I dont think it ever gets this cold there.
