I just started using RadarController. Nice AddOn and I'm sure it will be an educating thing for me. I have 2 questions to you:1) I find it difficult to hear/understand/take hold of the message from FSS & ATC. Do I have to get used to "catch" the message and write it down or is there another posibility such as getting the message written down on the screen?2) The Departure and Destination Airports are mentioned by their ICAO codes. This is not the case in the ATC in FS2004. How is the airport identified in the ATC chat in the real world - By real name or by ICAO code? And if its done by real name in the real world and by ICAO code in RadarController would it be an issu…

It is hinted that in the next (probably major) upgrade of AS2004 (now at 2004.5) AI will be refreshed at the end of the initial weather writes. This is a feature I requested (as well as some others) and queried about on the FSUIPC forum. The problem is when FS loads a flight, AI crank up using the original weather info. They are already enroute and also taxiing for TO to and landing on an active runway that may be inappropriate for the weather changes placed into effect at the conclusion of the initial weather update from an external weather program. This has caused conflict with ATIS info, runway selection, and the already established AI TO and landing patterns for several…

Hi.I am (almost) a new user of Radar Contact v3.0. I'm wondering how long it took most people to get the game through the mail. I ordered it 2 Sundays ago (about a week and a half). Also, I have FS2004. Which patchs should I download and install? Thanks all. Looking forward to flying with realism.

I see that FSMeteo is recommended as an AddOn weather program in the RadarContact manual. Is that because it's the best weather AddOn in connection with RadarContact? Or will ActiveSky 2004 work as well?Kind RegardsLars Frederiksen

Hello all,Today I was on a flight from KBNA to KRDU. Between 50 and 80 miles out of KRDU I was given the option for a delay by vectors or hold. I opted for the vectors. After 4 course changes I declared minimum fuel and was routed in. After the flight I went to the critique and was reamed for not flying a direct path from point to point. I had a direct path until ATC vectored me off. Then I started to get one for not enough fuel, but RC bombed in the middle of it. I should deserve the minimum fuel dress down but why the one for routing? Also has anyone had RC crash for the same reason? ThanksSteve

In my eagerness to fulfill high fidelity in my flights with FS2004 I just bought ActiveSky 2004. I'm considering to purchase Radar Contact 3.1 too. But what I need is (1) some fact about the differences between the FS2004 built-in ATC and Radar Contact 3.1(2) I would also like to know when we can expect the realise of RC ver 4.0 and (3) what the conditions (in US dollars) will be for updating from 3.1 to 4.0Kind RegardsLars

Hi AllI downloaded the Constallation from FSDZIGNS for FS2004 several weeks ago and placed the Advdisp panel to the 2D panel. This aircraft does not have a Virtual panel, but does have an engineers panel which when switched to, encompasses the complete screen same as the 2D panel. The problem is that the Advdisp panel also attaches to the Engineers panel which causes it to cover up several of the gauges.I have tried the various options to try and keep the display docked to the 2D Panel, but it keeps docking to the Engineers panel when you open it up.This is not a serious problem, but if there is a fix please advise. The advdisp remains in the 2D panel when you switch to spot…

Question:Although RC & MSFS recognize new airports ( such as the ones by Bush Flying Unlimited) installed via the Scenery Libraries and Flight Planners, RCv3 doesn't allow an accurate course en route to these airports past the last known waypoint.Instead, RCv3 gives me a "destination" that is literally about 6,000 nm away. ( I tracked it down to West Coast of Africa.) Then tells me I am "off course" just after I've passed the aforementioned last waypoint. I have not been able to figure this quirk out. It's annoying, but forgiveable.I'm still quite content with FS'02 when I get a chance to use it.Captain Dad

I have a question about crossing restrictions.I'm descending from altitude to 10,000 ft as instructed by ATC. Sometime during that descent, ATC instructs me to (for example) "Turn to heading 315 upon reaching 10,000 ft." That instruction comes when I'm around 13,000 ft or so. Doesn't that mean that when I reach 10,000ft, I then turn to heading 315? Because ATC comes back and tells me, way before I get to 10,000ft, that I was instructed to turn to 315, as though my altitude was irrelevant. Then, at the flight's end, the guy at the Flight Critique scolds me.I suppose I need to change heading immediately, but that was not the instruction. Is it me, or is it RC?Thanks, keith

Hi,I ran into a problem with the FS9 Patch and RC. It seems the APPVERSION # is now different in the flightplan with the updated FS. It also changes the plan format it seems within FS.I'm able to work around it but thought I'd let you know.Sean

When I use RC3 (with FS2004) to fly e.g. from Graz to Klagenfurt (Austria) I request my clearance. The controller then gives me a "clearance" to "Lima Oskar Whisky Kilo" (which is the code for Klagenfurt). Besides that I find him "stuttering" (or how should I say - not quite shure this is the correct word). This is not "real". A real controller would clear you to "Klagenfurt".If you listen to FS2004 ATC-Clearence there it is correct, also there are many things that are not correct in FS2004 ATC.So in pricipal I would say RC3 is better then FS2004 ATC. But the "sound" of the controller(s) prevent me from useing ist.Is there a possibility That I can change that myself or is t…

Hi,I just can't figure out how to load a to FS2004 exported SFP-flightplan in Radar Contact V 3.1. Create a plan in SFP and export it to FS2004 for GPS-use is easy, but how can you make a SFP-plan fit for Radar Contact V 3.1? I guess exporting it as a Radar Contact APL plan is an option...; but if so, how exactly ??Hope to hear from someone,Bye,Bol from Holland

Hi Yall,Everything has been fine until my last 2 flights. No matter whatmy flight plan says FL310 or FL350 I get clearance for FL600. The2 flights are KEWR/KORD,KORD KDEN. Also, when I load a flight planinto RC it never reads the flight level in the plan. I always haveto put it in manually but still get clearance for FL600. I'm flyingPMDG738NG. Using FSNAV for flight planning. Never has this happenedbefore.SkyhogP.S. RC keeps all the data from the previous flight including Alt.airport.

I have been flying sims for years so I was eagerly looking forward to Radar Contact and how it would "improve" my FS9 flying with regards to ATC. Instead of improvement, I find that it seems to be a step backwards on many issues. 1. ATC sounds in ATIS sound Robotic. It also seemed that that weather in ATIS was not in Sync with Active Sky and FS9 ATIS. 2. I also found out that I can't turn on Progressive taxi to find the proper runway in a large airport. It also appears that Radar Contact has no idea of where my aircraft is on the Airport proper, so any directions from ATC would probably not work, either. 3. It also seems that Radar Contact has no idea where my Ultimat…

Set up flight from KDFW to KPIT and upon departure, RC3.1 asked me to contact Pittsburgh approach!! Now, I'm not flying the Starship Enterprise so I did some snooping around and found out that DFW's departure and PIT's arrival frequencies were identical. I then remembered that I had seen this on rare occasion in the past.... I assume this is / will be fixed in V4, until then, Captn Kirk will be checkin' the frequencies from now on before flight!! ........ by the way JD, I'm really enjoying 3.1, thanks!!Randy Jura, KPDX

Hi AllI have installed the Constellation L049A from FSDZIGNS, and due to its slow decent, I am missing my crossing restrictions. If I change the type of aircraft such as Jet to Prop will that increase the length of the distance to reach the crossing.Tks. in advance for any assistance.Kenny G.
