I thought I had my "run-time 9 error" fixed, but I couldn't get to the next step involving FSUIPC setup. I read somewhere that having Flight Sim X in the Programs or Programs (x86) folders could cause problems so I moved FSX out of the Programs (x86) folder. Now I get a "IPC contains bad data" message when I click on the Start Radar Contact icon. Is there something wrong with my flight plans? I'm using Flight Commander X as my flight planner. I'm setting Radar Contact and FSX as the formats and Radar Contact as the destination. Do I have the wrong path from FCX to these destinations? Hi Guys - long time no (need to) speak ^_^ My last four flights have all ben subject to "missed crossing restriction" and subsequent diversions... The very last flight EGSS - LEAL...about 80 miles out on descent and currently at FL140...given instruction "descend FL120 - I need you level in 30 miles or less"... This time adopted the attitude of a Stuka and pointed the nose down at 3000 fpm - reached FL120 very quickly. I have everything loaded and configured for RC4 to run in FSX-SE. The only problem I have is the control window is not showing up inside my cockpit. I press the number one and RC4 starts. If I have show text from options, the text does show up at top of screen.Thanks S. Sumner

Yeah I have Googled the error and read all of the fixes but still get it. I have: Updated makerunways to the latest and ran it, My FSUIPC is up to date, Multi line is ticked in the FSUIPC options, RC is 4.3.3845, using PFPX (up to date) plans it has created in the past have all worked with RC, not starting RC until at gate, tried different parking spots, UAC is off. Hello Ray and JD. I recently had to disconnect all of my hardware and shutdown FSX for a period of time to return to school out of state. Upon return five months later, I needed to reinstall RCv4 and need a new key. It has been about a day and a half and still no response. I sent an email to the help desk with a screen shot of the registration GUI this morning and figured popping up here wouldn't hurt either. Any help you can give Ray would be appreciated. Thanks.

I bought Radar Contact a year or so ago, and don't have the download anymore. Where can I download the program again? Thanks! John

I have both Radar Contact and the Flight 1 GTN 750. I really like both, but I have not found an easy way to use both together. Has anyone found a way to export a F1 GTN 750 flight plan such that Radar Contact can use? Or, is there a flight planner that can create both a FS plan plan and a flight plan that F1 GTN can use?

Anyone know how to fix this?

I get as far as filing my flight plan loader but when I click the "Start Radar Contact " I get the following message. "Run-time error 9. Radar Contact.fsuipc.rcv4 code" Any help would be appreciated. Bob

FSUIPC4938c is now required due to the SimConnect changes in the mid-January 2015 auto update to FSX. Without this fsuipc update it will not work failing to detect the new SimConnect. http://forum.simflight.com/topic/66139-updated-modules/ Without this RC will start but you will not see the menu and if you examine fsuipc.log in the modules folder you will see it could not find SimConnect. After the Steam-FSX update and the FSUIPC4 update, RC worked as expected with the displayed menu. I worked the first menu for weather and clearance and it checked out.

solved From the manual: "Controllers, not FMCs, determine when initial descents are started but those using FMCs will like this! While at cruise altitude and when you get your 1st descent clearance you will notice the menu item “3-PD”. Use this feature to request a “Pilot‟s Discretion Descent”. The RC controller will approve or deny this request depending on varying circumstances."

Can anyone tell me how to get the necessary data base loaded into Nav3. The instructions for this planner seem the most straight-forward, however, they are over ten years old and pertain to Flight Simulator 2000, not FSX. I've tried sfp303, but there are no instructions at all for this one. I've tried sfptools and the instructions here are very vague and aimed at the computer knowledgeable guys that know what they are talking about. It uses terms that probably make sense to those folks, but not to me. Any help would be appreciated. Bob

I just received my copy of Radar Contact and now I need a flight planner. Which one do you suggest that is free? I was thinking about Super Flight Planner, but I don't know where to get it. Every time I do a search, I get a lot of stuff that looks dangerous to download and does not appear to be Super Flight Planner itself. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Bob

When ordering a new copy of Radar Cantact 4.3, how long does it usually take to receive the CD? i ordered about ten days ago and have not received it as of 1/15. Has my CD been lost in the mail? Should I be concerned? Any info would be appreciated. Bob

I am a long time user of Radar Contact and have encountered something new and undesirable (to me) ATC instructions in my last several flights. When flying an IFR route, latest yesterday from KLGA to KATL, Radar Contact has announced something like the arrival airport is crowed and closed to arrivals. Then nothing. I had to finally shut down RC as it was of no use. This has happened on my last three flights around the US. How can I eliminate this? John

Short version: Co pilot is not taking over the controls. Long version: Uncontrolled airport, requested clearance, got it. Startup procedure, I taxied to runway 18, but there was another aircraft taking off from 26, so I waited patiently until he left (about 3 minutes). By then, there was less than 10 minutes between the time I requested clearance and the time I was ready to roll. So, I applied thrust, get positive climb, retract gear, then I hear the controller telling me I took too long, and RC closes. Hi, I am using Radar Contact in combination with CP flight radio modules on a pedestal. I want to use a separate (small) numeric key pad to enter RC commands in stead of using my (large) keyboard. However, RC won't accept commands from the key pad and only works on the alfa-numeric part (numbers above the letter keys) of my keyboard. Does any one know of a way to get this working? Would be of great help and further enhance my home cockpit.

Hi all Just loaded RC back up into my P3D and I am trying to get it to work, it loads fine and i can talk to it when i ask for clearence but then it just keeps cycling around the same text and doesnt give me any other options. (I also can not hear any sound but I think thats down to my surround setup.....) any ideas any one ...

I have searched these forums and read the manual looking for a way to bring the RC voice into my headset without just making them the default. Any suggestions, Maybe a workaround or some other hardware or software?

I am having some difficulties with RC4 and have a few questions. In FSX I am on the Apron at Oban in Scotland and on starting RC4 I get the popup window stating "RC4 Ready". I then get the following items: 2....WX, and 4. CLS by FSS. I am using MCE, which is started when RC4 is ready. However, when I use the speak button and request "Clearance, Skyways 373 request clearance to Edinburgh" I get no response from RC4. I then try by pressing key 4, but still nothing. Then for some unknown reason the RC4 window dissapears and I can't seem to get it back, and it would appear that RC4 has frozen. I am also using GSX, and am not sure if this is interfering somehow, although…

Hi, RC4 doesn't seem to want to work with new Steam edition FSX. I didn;t have any problems before with FS9, FSX or P3D but now it says something about bad IPC data when I try and use the new (and much better) Steam version of FSX. Is it to do with FSCUIP? Do I need to replace that with an up to date version? Any help would be welcome as its back to default ATC for now. Grrr! Thanks, Paul

I am thinking of picking up this program but I'm wondering if Radar Contact will pull airport data from the Program Data Scenery.cfg or just uses ICAO's from AIRAC data such as what Navigraph provides. The reason I'm asking is I my major fliying is in GQA aircraft and usually departing a lager airport with a smaller airstrip destination. Regards Ken

I just started getting a runtime error 62 'RadarContact.rcv4module.read_atcnames' error on start up while running as administrator. This comes up on the splash screen, so I can't get any further in to rebuild databases, etc. Any idea as to where to start on this? I'm running win 8 and FSX. While wracking my brain, the only things that I have done recently is download REX (which I believe operates outside of the FSX folder) and I downloaded a little freeware flight planner Plan-G.
