I'm sure I've seen this before on the RC website but I can't seem to find it now. I'd be interested in seeing a list comparing FS9 default ATC features with those of RC3/4. I can see a list comparing RC3 and RC4 but not FS9 and RC.Thanks.

Simple post but I am kind of excited. Last night using the PMDG 747 at FL410, the RC descent call came when I was only 20 miles from the FMC TOD. That is the closest I have come in years of using RC - it was really cool. After years of using this product, normally this variation is in the 45-65 mile range (RC always being the early one) so you can imagine my surprise (and yes, this is even with adding up to 100 knot tail winds in the VNAV forcast areas).I dont know what was different on this flight (maybe alt, not normally up that high). Eitherway, just excited and thought I would let you all know - its a good thing.

JD,In a previous post you mentioned you'll try to pull out of the manual the comparison chart of RC4 vs RC3.1 (similar to the one you have right now on your website).... Can you please do it? We are very eagerly waiting for this product, and this will make us even more anxious, but please go ahead...Thanks,Carlitos

Hello All.I have searched the forum and read as much as I could find about the features of RC4 and what it will and will not do.I have not yet purchased RC primarily because I'm a big fan of hearing the interaction between ATC and AI aircraft. (I use Ultimate Traffic.)Understanding that RC4 will not interface with the AI, I'd like to ask a few questions, just to be sure that I'm understanding how RC4 works, which will help me make a purchasing decision.1. The AI aircraft will continue to operate as they do with the FS9 ATC. Basically, they'll takeoff, make one or two turns, then fly direct to their destination, at which point they'll be vectored to the FAF, fly the app…

I made a flight with radarcontact and my arrival airport was Las vegas Maccaran Intl (Scenery World Airports 2 from JustFlight).Radarcontacts ATC and AI-aircraft did not work together. I had a landing clearence to Rwy 25L but get a go around from the tower caused by onother plane on the ground was entering the Rwy. The problem is that the only plane I saw on the ground was standing at a holding point as it should. I did the go around and I have to do this three times before I get tired of the tower and diverted to Los Angeles instead. The other two go around I did I also could see planes at the holding point not on the Rwy. The cause of the problem does it have something …

Great, my test worked. After a long layoff from RC I have started using it again. Unfortunetly I can't remember all the key commands. The instructions say I should be able to scroll through the pages using 9 to page forward and 8 to page back. When I start Radar Contact the only pages I see are the one giving choice of weather or clearance delivery and the other giving the info to the first waypoint. Using keys 8 and 9 to move forward and back, these are the only ones I can see. Key 0 (zero) does nothing at all. Are these two pages all there is? Am I doing something wrong?Bob

Hello JD firstly a big thanks to many happy hours flying with RC3 and cannot wait for RC4 hope all is progressing well. One question I have is that when flying in USA/UK and certain European countries I get the canned chatter and in others.. Italy/Sweden etc I dont... I have checked the winwood files and in the countries I mentioned there are the files for it and in the other ones there are not... do i need to download additional files for those particular countries or should I re install the program? Many ThanksHamish

I have the latest build and I have done a forum search:when asked to 'cross four zero miles from (vor)' does this mean;40 miles direct line from aircraft to vor (i.e. a 40 radiuc circle around the vor)?OR...40 miles of flight plan (i.e. flight plan miles which may include a large 'dogleg' within the 40 mile radius)?I hope this question make sense.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/126927.jpg

Some time ago John and I posted some of the things to look forward to in RCv4, one of which was Profile Descent. Knowing some base the decision to buy (or not) on enhancements, we thought it only fair to tell you Profile Descent will not be in RCv4.I'll be watching for responses and opinions. Your responses will help us make the go/no-go call for v5.Profile Descents are still being used, though I'm aware of only one (the TYSSN2 into KLAS). It's an RNAV procedure. Please don't come-up-in-arms :-) There are more I'm sure, but not many. The FAA's found, they just don't work and though ZME's not had one since I've been there (1981), as a controller would've been surprised if …

Knowing that some people here use AI Smooth, the recent upgrade V1.11 was defective and V1.11a is now in the AVSIM library. It is not announced so just search the library for one word "aismooth" and it should come up with a posting date of 9/25/05 - too new to show on the front page. I'll be testing it momentarily. This was discussed in a current thread and the user testing this newest 1.11a revision or the author uploaded it stating in the thread it now worked. V1.11 has been removed from the author's web site but this new revision is not up yet at least according to the URL I have. The defective version did not detect hardly any AI with FSUIPC 3.50. It was also stated the…

Hello,I noticed that after RC is installed it creates a modules folder on the C drive which contains FSUIPC and ADVDisplay. Is it safe to delete this folder since I already have these files in my FS9 modules folder which contain newer versions of the above programs?

I'm trying to understand how do these properly with RC. Today I took a flight from DFW to San Angelo Regional (SJT). Winds were 350 at 22, so runway 36 was my preference, but SJT's only ILS runway is 3, so that's the runway intially assigned by approach. Ceiling and visibility were adequate for a visual approach (vis 18, ceiling 5000 as a matter of fact), so I requested 36 and got the usual "expect vectors to runway 36 approach". The menu option "Req Vis App" seems to really just say you have the field in sight, not that you want to make a visual approach but may not be anywhere near ready to land, so I decided to see where the vectors would take me. Shortly I was on…
