I don't really understand what FSUIPC is and why I need it to make this program work, but I was trying to follow the instructions to install RC onto my computer. I just purchased it and got the 4.2 version in the mail today. I am running FSX only with Vista. The instructions mention that I need to download the latest version of FSUIPC to get this to work. However when I go to the link to get this program, it tells me that I now also need WideFS as well. Well I downloaded that, and in the instructions it very plainly states that I need to purchase this program as well.Why do I need WideFS, or FSUIPC for that matter?Do I need to purchase these to make RC work with FSX?…

Hi all.Do I need to have FS9 installed and working with Radar Contact before I install it into FSX?So far on a machine that has FSX only installed (No FS9) I have installed RC, Updated to to 4.1 then to 4.2I then followed the instructions (as close as i could):-hmmm to install 4.3When i tried running RC i got this message"Component 'comdlg32.ocx' or one of its dependencies not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid"I assume its looking for FS9/FSX but im stuck right here.Anyone any advice?CheersDavid:-wave

Hi all,I've recently purchased RCV4 for FSX,and I'm really enjoying the way it keeps me on my toes whilst flying, as compared to the FSX ATC,and making my flights much more involving(and enjoyable)than before. However, I was just wondering where I could get downloads of Irish accents or indeed any other accents from other countries as I think these would be adding to the immersion value of RCV4, especially around my local 'ports, but hey...open skies now...many different people are in the tower these days!!!Just a thought,Kind Regards,Dave.

I try to open RadarContact for MS Flight SImulator and receive an errorsaying "Component MSINET.OCX or one of its dependencies not correctlyregisrteed: a file is mission or invalid." There is a file with this name inthe Windows/System folder.(Windows Vista)Does anyone know what is happening. :-)

Hello All,Ive just reinstalled RCv4 for FSX, after reinstalling FSX and traffic 2005, along with Vector Europe terrain, all seems to be working fine except that I'm unable to select any menu choices from the comms window while in FSX. The chosen flight plan still seems to load up fine though.Where have I gone wrong?? All was working fine yesterday until I started meddling...oh well...any help or advice is much appreciated,Regards,Dave.

I have been using RC 4 for some time. I saved a flight with Radar Contact open, using the FS9 Save flight option. I can see the .FLT and Wx files, but no rcd file is there.I had thought I had identified the directory for these files in the past, and in fact see several OLD .rcd files for other flights. Any idea why this flight was not saved properly?Could it be that I need to reidentify the directory for these files to get it to work?Thanks,Greg

Hi,Is there anyone who has done a long haul with RC4 and PMDG 747-400/Level-D 767-300.In the manual it is said that the copilot doesn't work with this simulations.How than can I use RC4 on long hauls f.i Amsterdam - st Maarten ( Antilles) appr. 9 hours ( EHAM - TNCM)Well I can't sit 9 hours waiting for ATC give some instructions.The first hour and a half is OK, but crossing the ocean is the bottle neck.Has somebody did this before and how?????RegardsCarlos

Hii received my Radar Contact 4 CD and have tried several times to register it but my emails keep getting returned with the following response SMTP error from remote mail server after MAIL FROM: SIZE=3369: host mailserver1.jdtllc.com [65.83.225.250]: 550 5.7.1 This system is configured to reject mail from 195.188.213.5 (Host blacklisted in combined.swh.bellsouth.net)I have turned off my spam filter checked cookies etc and still it is returned my product id is 1754743320 ! Hi,I get a crash with atc.dll error when I touched the wheel on the runway 25L I try it three times and again the same error...After I try to close RC4 at the approach runway before contacting the tower and oh suprise! no more error all worked good, so have you a suggestion for this problem. I have the 4.2 ver do i need to download and install 4.3 if i don't intend to fly with fsx. i read the release notes and it said that no updates were made for the 4.3 ver only the fact that i need it to fly with fsx but at the bottom of the page it gives me instructions if i want to install if i want to only use fs9. I did a flight in the LD 767 from KSFO to KPDX. My flightplan had a SID but no STAR. The last waypoint was KPDX. This was initially not visible in the LD 767 FMC so I inserted it later manually. When I reached the latest waypoint before KPDX I was told I was getting of course and was given a vector 90 degress away from the planned leg. This vector was never changed by RC and as soon as I turned towards KPDX I was told to turn to the given vector again.

Hello. I am trying to add ATC chatter and it mentions the airspace file in the manual. I cannot find this file. I basically need to know which folder is which (ex: 309=Denver) Thanks

I guess RC doesn't do Antarctica very well. It guides me down there but seems to lose it at the approach stage. Guess it is a bit of a stretch. BTW any word on RC 5 release?Thanks

I have inside RC4 settings keyboard and display window opted for m. Now this wont't work as it have done before. I did restart FS but it didn't help.

I flew out of Hilo, in Hawaii last evening and shortly after take off I had an engine failure on my Bombardier CRJ200. So with just one engine I declared an emergency and opted to return to Hilo Int'l. I was given vectors to fly and while on the downwind leg I wondered how far out I was going to be taken. Eventually I decided not to wait any longer and turned to intercept the ILS. After lining up, RC ATC instructed me to resume the downwind heading, which I ignored and landed without clearance.It seemed to me that the only thing that declaring an emergency did was to get me the vectors to get me back to the airport but not as quickly as possible. I tried doing a flight with RC4 and was given a takeoff rwy. While taxi towards it I meet another plane coming straight towards me and the whole flight ended because of a plane crash. Without RC I remember sometimes being told to halt because of other plane is coming in my way while taxing. I therefore would like to know if I should uncheck the option to allow collision with other planes since RC can't keep track on groundtraffic? I wouldn't miss this feature on the ground but in the air I would miss it.

Hey guys - recently installed LIMC scenery from ISD. Rebuilt scenery with latest version of makernways I could find, as well as used scan afcad to determine I had no duplicate afcads - I then went for a flight from LIRF to LIMC. Upon approach, RC4 told to to land on 35R and gave me the ILS. Shortly after I was lined up on the ILS for 35L. I checked the afcad and when in game the are appropriate and they work. Sometimes during the cruise phase of flight I hit the wx button.I hear local atis info but I'm not sure what airport this is from.is there anyway to know where the report is coming from?PS I can usually get the met report from Active SKY that I have running in parallel, but would like RC to perform this task sometimes.Eytan

Hi JD. I've had Radar Contact for a few days now and have tried several times to get my registration key to no avail. I've tried the auto e-mail method and also have sent my product ID manually. Hi,After more than 100 successful flights using RC4, I encountered a problem on my last flight. I was going from KEYW to KSRQ with an intermediate point of RSW, flying the Dreamfleet A36. All was normal with Approach telling me to expect an approach to runway 32 and directing me to descend to 2000 ft and a heading of 320. I expected an intercept heading, but received no further instructions. Staying with the last ATC heading took me approximately 3.5 miles SW of the airport. I waited until I was at least 5 miles past the airport, then requested a visual. RC4 responded immediately to contact tower and the last of the flight was normal (for a visual approach).Is this a know…
