I've noticed a number of posts on this. Although it's only vaguely connected can I take a moment to mourn the passing of AdvDisp from the FSX world. It was a great prog - the menu could be manipulated to fit perfectly into any aircraft panel. Its successor is not nearly so accommodating and, I think, indirectly, leads to a prob , at least for me, and maybe for others who use a multi mon. set up.I undock all the panels of my aircraft to reside on a number of monitors. Initially, when I used RC in FSX, I noticed that the prog was not always responding to keystrokes. Eventually - I'm slow - I discovered that in order for the keystrokes to work effectively, the main monit…

edit: I forgot to mention this is in FSX.I just got Radar contact and flew my first flight with it yesterday, sort of. Everything went well up until the final approach. I saw an AI taxing up to the runway and assumed rc would freeze it and let me land. Low and behold the AI taxied onto the runway shortly before i was cleared to land or shortly after I am not sure. Sure enough I got told to go around. When does RC freeze ground traffic on the approach? Also what could cause RC not to detect all AI traffic? Throughout the whole flight I did not hear any AI chatter until I was on the approach and then I only heard some of the traffic. (I had fs atc tuned as well just to chec…

Hi,Today I was doing a flight from KMIA to MGGT when RC identified the "MAXIM" waypoint in my flight plan as another "MAXIM" waypoint that was located 1500 miles away:-mad !! I was forced to cancel my whole flight. How can I make sure this never happens again?

If the "Hold for WX" option is checked (and there is a VOR withinfive miles of the destination airport listed on the saved flightplan),are holds issued based on the weather parameters, or on the amount of traffic? What I'm aiming for are scenarios where the chances of a holdare a little better than 50%.Thanks in advance.Slugger

Let me first say that this software is great. Now to my problem...I filed a flight plan from KDCA to KORD. My route was dct to AML then J149 to FWA then OXI3.The winds were 210@06 and I was assigned rwy 19. After takeoff with an initial climb to 6000 I was cleared to 15000 still on rwy heading. I was given to vectors to intercept my route of flight. No instructions for take off to turn to any heading.I made a turn to intercept my course which was north of my position and was told I was off course and given a heading to intercept my first waypoint which was AML.After changing to ATC heading and getting on course the rest of the flight was uneventfull.I tried this twice and…

I have reinstalled RC V4 from my disk and when I click on the exe file I get the following message."Component COMDLG32.OCX or one of its dependencies not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid"anyone have any ideas what this file does or should be located on my computer or what program it is attributed to. I am searching my computer for the file as I type this but so far nothing.ThanksDon

Hi,I have FS9 assigned permanently to Core 0 and anything else running alongside to Core 1. Performance is the smoothest I have experienced, indeed it's quite uncanny at times. However, although it appears to be possible to assign Core 0 or Core 1 to the Radar Contact ver. 4.2.3831 executable on a temporary basis via Task Manager, the same does not appear to be true when you try to make this permanent, e.g. by using the command:imagecfg -a 2x1 "D:Program Filesrcv4rcv4.exe"Radar Contact won't start :( ( which is why it's a good idea to make a backup of the executable first before experimenting ;) )If anyone would like to try this for themselves, may I refer you to:http://f…

Hi all,Have been having a problem flying a route from EKBI to EGBB lately, every time I am asked to contact London (not sure what freq) I get an FS ctd and it reprts atc.dll as the culprit. Radar Contact continues to run after fs crashes.I have looked through the forum and have tried the fixes, I have FSUIPC version 3.74 but still no luck.I also note that this should have been fixed with FSUIPC.Some ideas?ThankyouGarry

just got everything working on rc 4.3 and fsx. The key came in yesterday and it loaded well. there was some issue at first with the keystrokes not recognized by rc, but it works now. not sure how it was solved though. flight went without a hitch. i like radar contact. it's a great ifr com trainer that seems accurate to me so far and at a great price. i'm working on my instrument rating and this is much more realistic than fsx atc. it will help me tremendously. thanks jd.

HiRunning RC v4.3 here and loving it. I am, however, confused about saving mid-flight (despite having read the manual). As I understand it, I simply save an FSX flight and suitable radar contact files will be saved for reloading later - however, I only ever see .rc4 files in my FSX folder along with the saved flights and these do not load via the 'Load .RCD' button.I assume I have gotten it wrong somewhere and would appreciate any advice.ThanksAndrew

So, to make any future re-installs easier, I installed 4.3 for FS9 as the instructions and updated the Scenery DB. This ran the new makerwys ok and created all the usual files with no problem. However, previous versions found about 25,600 airports while this new version found only 23,778. Any reason for this?Iain Smith

In FSX I do not get the Adventure text display. Also I do not have the modules menu in FSX to enable ADV. In FS9 all works well. Contr+shift+W does not work either.Any help appreciated.Martin

If I am only using rcv for FS9 is it necessary to download the large file or is the update only to make rcv compatible with FSX?

I posted here before about that issue. To early descent.I was flying twice from ESSA to EPWA and back. Now, I was also watching three Just Planes videos for B737-800.The Descent according to my opinion in RC starts very early, too early.I do not know but it seems to start about 120nm before destination airport.Flying to ESSA, the descent starts just south off ESVB in realt time and that I presume is not so far away as 120nm ahead of the destination. In the next version I read that you can delay the descent but I think that is maybe a good idea if possible to reconfigure the descent distant to start later then it is now. How much later .. hmm .-. well ... If you take a fligh…

Hello.I'm new with CR4.3 I have made flight plans with FSNavigator and exported to FS2004.But then a series of things happens.1- When I start CR the plane appears in another place way far away and the FS2004 set to pause. Is that normal?2- Do I have to set all of the frequencies in the controller info?3- Why when I get clearence to the runway, ground tells me to taxi to rwy zero, zero?ThanksRudy

Maestro jd,What are your plans with respect to improving the approach vectoring code for v5?Oh, and another quick phraseology idea for V5: In ICAO airspace, suppose we're on final and the runway is not vacant. The controller says: "Jaydee 123, expect late landing clearance, wind 270 at 15 knots". This means it's gonna be real tight. Then, when the runway is clear, we hear simply "Jaydee 123, cleared to land". Would be a nice touch...Ilari

I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this problem.Last night I noticed that the gate selection was populated with the runway. Also, on arrival I was instructed to the "ramp" instead of the gate that I had selected.Any help would be much appreciated.Thank you,TAS
