I recently experienced an AI aircraft crashing into me from behind on runway at EDDF:(Please see http://www.vacc-sag.org/download/chart.php...5414812b61b2733 for the chart to follow the description of events below).I was parked in the Terminal 2 area with a medium-sized jet so EDDF requires me to taxi to runway 18 via taxiways B B-EAST S to take off on runway 18 from take off point S. This is standard taxi procedure at EDDF.So I obtained taxi clearance to taxi to and hold short of runway 18 and to runway 18 via taxiways B B-EAST S. Whilst taxiing I noticed an AI aircraft taxiing on taxiway N, which also leads to runway 18. At the intersection of taxiways K and S I was req…

Would it be possible to include the airport name spoken before the words "approach", "tower" and "departure" voice instructions, and also the pilot/co-pilot voices? Only where the airport name has been recorded, of course, otherwise it would have to be the identity letters, if at all.Just wondered. Thanks for a wonderful add-on, and best wishesDon Hunt

Howdy,Just a simple question I hope. I have had RCv4 for quite some time now, and all the upgrades and things are making it confusing as to what I need to do with my current version. Is there plans to release a newer version that will have all the updates in one nice install package again and will the new version work for both FS9 and FSX?At this point I'd be happy to see a new version of Radar Contact hit the shelves! Thanks,Iven

On flights with FSX SP1 installed, the co-pilot will fly the plane until "cleared for approach" instead of "cleared to land" as in the past. Is there a setting to correct this or is this the way the software is set up now?As for comms, once the airplane is "cleared for approach", I have to make all changes, ie altimeter setting, heading, etc. when the co-pilot is still handling the comms. Is this normal also?I have the registered version 4.11 FSUIPC installed. Please advise. Thanks

Hello, I have main RC4 in C:Program Filesrcv4 folder and FSX flavor of RC4 in F:rcv4x. I really don't want to move this folder back and forth if I want to fly FSX with RC4, I'd rather edit some config or regedit if there's something to change in the registry. Much faster than to copy the whole thing. I should have installed RC4 on F partition in the beginning and have the 2 version folders there. But since I already installed it before it came to my mind, is there a way to retrofit? I could also move RC4 folder from C to F partition and use the both there, just changing the names of the folders to switch them. But for that I'll need your advise what lines I'll need to cha…

hi,i bought RC4.3 just recently (FSX). My whole sky is populated with Ai trafiic from WoAI, PAI or MRAI. Even though i checked the box "interact with AI", it doesn't seem so. today i waited behind 3 737's at munich 26R and RC told me to line up on the runway... it looks like the default ATC is controling the AI-traffic and RC me alone. Is this normal?thanxchrjs

Hello,I'm considering purchasing Radar Contact now that it's available for download on the RC website. Before purchasing however I was wondering if the RC voices were region specific. That is, if I was flying from the USA to Germany, would I hear only American accents while flying in US airspace, then only British accents while over the UK, then only German accents while in Germany? Also on last item, I noticed FShotSeat is not compatible with RC. Is there any other way of hearing that winding spool sound while AI aircraft are taking off? Thanks and looking forward to using Radar Contact.

Hi all.Is there anyway for the copilot not to mess with the altimeter's barometric pressure or to say "altimeter check"?

I've recently installed RC v4.3 in my Vista system with FSX (SP1). Using the 'Voices' screen I get the message "Run-time error 75: RadarContact.rcv4module.pilot_ack" after clicking on any of the pilot voice playback buttons (similarl result with controller voice, etc.), and RC closes when I click 'OK' on the error msg box. I have the current 4.12 FSUIPC and am not using WideFS. Note that voice playback (Ground call, etc.) works fine with Level-D's 767 on my system, so I don't think the problem is with the Creative SB X-FI. Any ideas?Maury PrattEditor-at-Large,AVSIM Online

Hi Chaps I have recently ordered RC4 and am looking forward to receiving the CD and getting it installed. To give myself a heads up I have downloaded the Manual for the product. For you guys who have RC4 I have a question which I hope you can answer for me. Do I need to be able to access the program menu whilst Flight Sim is running to be able to assign RC4 to a flightplan that I have loaded into FS2004. Or can I assign RC4 to flightplans within Flight Simulator itself? The reason I ask is that I use FSAutostart and with the settings I have within that program I cannot access the desktop from Flight Sim when it is running. I hope I have made myself clear ( I think I'm…

1. RCV5 control AI traffic rather than FSX2. When flying long flight the aircraft jump from top of climb to top of decent. This would be a option. This way you can make long flights managable in one sitting. 3. Have a way to edit flight plans so that you can add speeds and altitudes to the plans. This way you can plan step climbs and add SIDS and STARS with altitude and speed restrictions. This way ot wouls make easier to land at places like ASPEN.Dave

Ok I'm doing a flight from KSAN to KSFO in the PMDG 747. I've created my IFR flight plan in FS2004. Its a VOR to VOR planKSANMZBLAXSNSOSIKSFOI've loaded this flight plan into Radar Contact and I'm on my way. I've loaded this plan in the legs page with a projected runway landing of 28LI'm in flight right now and I'm currently 52 NM from VOR LAX. Radar Contact is telling me to fly heading 125 ubtil I recieve suitable navigation. Flying at this heading turns me 180 degrees back towards KSAN?? Why am I being asked to turn 180 degrees back towards my departure airport.I await and answer as the sim is paused right now.Lee Alexander

Hi jd,The key combo Ctrl-Shift-M appaers to be a toggle (on/off). Is there any way to determine if the co-pilot is flying or not (as toggling this function appears to have little effect if I'm on course and with HDG selected on the AP).Thanks- Bruce.

Greetings,I'm losing keypress functionality during flights. My initial set up was:Windows XP running in a virtual machine running VMWare server 1.0.3 on a Vista box. From the VM I was running ASX, RC4.3, FS Flight Keeper 2.8, and Wideclient 6.x.My FSX machine is running FSX SP1, FSUIPC 4.12, and the Flight1 ATR72-500.Once the ATR came out for FSX I set up my VM rig. That's when I noticed that after a short time - either trying to contact tower or center - that keystrokes were not working. (I have CS as my default keystroke set up)I thought that maybe the VM box was the problem so I installed RC4.3 on the FSX box. Unfortunately that did not fix the issue. I didn't initiali…

Having two problems...1) most significant...I directed the program to pause 150 nm from destination. When I came back, I was well over 100 nm PAST the destination. (using LVLD767)2) I do not have ADV Display in the modules menu of FS...however, I do have the ATC window...so not as big a deal...3) oh, and one more...is the co-pilot supposed to control the radio when he has the controls? i.e. change frequencies and respond to ATC.Thanks for any and all assistance in advance. =)

Hello. In a recent review of Radar Contact a person wrote:--The smoothness and clearness of the pilot's and controllers voice surely impressed me, but not more than the AI chatter. --But when I just had my first flight using Radar Contact I was shocked by the quality of the pilot's voice. The ATC controller on the other hand sounds really great, but ok, those are very smooth samples. The transitions between spelled numbers or any other word are so different in speed and pitch due to a lousy text-to-speech engine that I wondered that I might have a different version of it then the person who wrote this review.Any one an idea which engine is used and if there is an update pos…

A couple of days ago my RCv4.2 window started behaving oddly. I couldn't post the screenshot here, so please have a look at:http://miscpics.fotopic.net/p42689054.htmlI am using FS2004 on windows XP media centre with all updates, FSUIPC 3.74.I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling both Radar Contact and FS2004, to no avail. Aircraft and location make no difference. To the best of my knowledge I have made no changes in the last few days. It might be a problem with a font in windows, but any ideas/guidance would be appreciated. This problem is very recent

Hi,I have been using Radar Contact for a number of years and it is a great piece of software.I often fly the Flight1 ATR, PMDG B747 and Level-D 767 and use FS2crew with these aircraft. They all work together fine but often at busy times, climb out or approach for instance, I will be busy doing checklists and the ATC will issue an instruction which I miss. I usually have the copilot handling the coms' so he reads back the instruction immediately and I often miss some of that too. Probably inexperience on my part and too much going on.It would be handy if I could get the copilot to repeat these instructions, would it be possible to add a control which would get the copilot …
