Hi, I want to have a go at a long haul flight and once in the cruise, go to bed and leave the plane either flying over europe or the ocean.I know i can ask RC to pause at a set distance, but will it get upset at me not responding to any traffic calls or altitude requests while im away from the PC prior to the planned pause?Thanks for any advice,Mark

Hey jd,I am a long time user of your great program with FS9. I didnt get FSX until recently when my PC "died" and I got a new Vista PC. After loading FSX, I had a problem with the default ATC. I could communicate with ATC by clicking on the text messages, but I had no ATC sounds at all. I saw that some others also had this problem, something related to the ATC sound in FSX being based on files that have to be processed together (the APXnnnnn.bgl's, the .gvp file located in the SoundATC folder, and the ATC.dll/AIPlayer.dll files in the root folder of FSX).I had planned on getting RC4.3 when I got FSX. Sorry guys, brain dead.I'm trying to reinstall from RCv4 CD using a WideFS setup on Windows XP with FS2004.Got as far as v4.0.3737: Rebuild Scenery run and r4.csv file transferred from FS9 on primary PC.I'm now trying to run the rcv4_3831 zip file, which I believe should get me up to v4.2. However, every time I run the exe file I get a message telling me to run MakeRwys on FS machine and copy the r4.csv file to the RCv4 data directory on the second machine.Although this has already been done by the Rebuild Scenery facility I do it manually anyway as instructed, but when I run the rcv4_3831 exe file again I get the same message.Can someone give me a clue? I don't know if this is a feature, or if it is a bug, or if even it has been discussed before, but sometimes when I get my crossing restriction I could be told to "expect a clearance to cross 40 miles from xxx at 12,000 ft." I will then plan my continued decent so that I will make that restriction. When I get my final restriction at the 70 mi. from destination/last VOR in the flight plan, I would sometimes be told to descend to 11,000 ft, which is not what I was originally told to expect.I really have to listen because the change sometimes catches me by surprise, with no acknowledgment that the restriction had changed. Installed FSX on Windows Vista (Business) computer. Installed RC 4.3 and the included FSUIPC4 and although slow, everything loaded and ran correctly. Installed 737PIC (Pilot In Command) for FSX and then loaded a .PLN (to RC 4.13) and got an IPC bad data error. Got all the updates (FSX SP1, SDK SP1A, FSUICP4.16).Opening FSX, I cannot get a "Add_on" on the menu bar now. I removed ALL programs from the hard drives and reloaded systematically (reinstalled FSX, then 737PIC, then RC4.3). Hi, Using Radar Contact should I follow my GPS flight plan or the ATC advise? When following GPS I keep getting the annoying messages from ATC that I am off course and do I need special assistance, I hope you don't drive like that etc. I wish I had two-way radio totalk to the ATC. I am frustrated and will soon give up on Radar Contact if ATC keeps hasseling me about being off course.Dave Lusty [email protected]

I'm thinking about purchasing FDC Live Cockpit for FSX by Aerosoft. I don't know much about it yet but I'm reading up on it on their website. Sounds interesting. Anyway, would this conflict with my RC4 in any way do you think? FDC looks like it's literally that, just flight deck and cabin crew announcements. No ATC.What do you think?

Purchased latest version of RC4.3.3845 this week. System is XP,FSX and a registered version of FSUIPC4.16. I also use FS Commander V8.1. Whilst I get pilot and controller voices, there's no AI chatter at all. FSC shows the AI in close proximity in flight. AI is generated by the standard FSX facility.Only difference in installation is that RC stated that a later version of FSUIPC was installed than supplied with the program and wonder therefore whether the FSUIPC is not installed in the right directory for use with RC?FSINN and FS Copilot have been installed but not used.

Is there anywhere I can get chatter files for specific regions ?Thnx

I followed the instructions in the Tutorial Flight 2 for saving a flight. It saved the FS9 flight but did not save Radar Contact as an RCD file. I was able to reload the flight, but not radar contact as there was no rcd file saved. I am using RC 4.3 Help!!Tony

Hello, I have purchased a new computer and tried to re-install RC4. I used the automatic email for the key but when entering the key comes back with "Run time error 75 - RadarContact.rcv4module.write_keyboard" error. I am using Vista Ultimate and have tried running the "exe" file as an administrator as suggested in previous posts. Thanks.Patrick

Is there any way to tell RC that a runway is closed? We have 6/24 closed at our airport and I dont want ATC telling me to taxi and hold short runway 6. I have it closed in my AFCAD file.

All the FAQ refers to is FS9 and AdvDisplay which doesn't exist in FSX.This very annoying as I am still getting green banners etc. and the instructions for changing default ATC setting refer to FS9 settings which are different to FSX.

WOW what a program. I LOVE IT! ATC constantly gives me attitude about my heading, I have the proper heading set and heaed in the correct heading but ATC says im of track. Does anyone else has this problem or is it just me?Erik Z

When I try to make savings during flights there is no RCD files in the flight simulator files ( .FMC and .WX are ok)I use FS9 and version is RC 4.3So impossible to load a plan during flightThanks for help !

When RC says "cleared to runway xxx,fly heading xxx till established on the localiser" does that mean you will not receive any more vectors and will need to choose your own intercept heading to capture the glide slope?Often I am given a heading which takes me away from the glide slope when rc says "cleared....."and i wait for instructions but no more come.I am then left struggling to adjust headings or end up asking for missed approach.Am I doing something wrong?Thanks for any adviceJay

Hi!I have a problem.I'm a user of FS2002 , RC3 with Win98.Yesterday, I installed RC4.0 and upgraded to RC4.3 to my PC.But it wasn't work well. So I uninstalled it.After that, I launched FS2002 and RC3.0. While doing a flight, RC4 stopped working. I got this error message: "FSUIPC_wait, can't get D008 to change from 2873531, always 2873531"I have not idea want this means.This is not the first time that this has happened.ThanksJPS

Ok since I now am getting my flying down :) I have read the instructions on how to add your own ATC chatter. My question is I want to go to liveatc.net and download their archives for kmsy, kaus, krdu, kmci, ksat, kbhm. Their archives are all together i.e. CD, approach, tower. So would I still somehow have to seperate all the chatter to put them in seperate folders or could that go in the same one? Also which region would these .wav files go in?

Well, because I'm running out of time, I was pleased to be on final approach descending nicely on the glide slope to the runway when all of a sudden..."Speedbird 123..Go Around". Now I'm sure I'm not the only one, but although I like to do things properly to the best of my ability, sometimes, there just isn't enough time. Whenever I fly in the UK (and presumably in Europe) when I have handed over to the co-pilot to fly, the altimeter setting always goes back to the standard (29.92 or 1013) I change it and immediately it changes back. Any ideas why this happens? It does not happen when flying in the US.:-hmmm
