Following a major PC mod and upgrade, I've had a Jetline PC for about 5 years that has been upgraded to have separate SSDs: Win10/64 for P3DV4, and Win7/64 for FSX. When I purchased a separate RC4.3 for P3DV4, the older FSX version ceased to function with the following error: "Component 'mscomctl.ocx' or one of its dependencies not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid." I "successfully" completed a process (from Google) to register the file; however RC would still not open (with or without as Admin.). Since both RC purchases were made from the same email, I'm assuming the newer version from September 2017 for P3DV4 has overridden the older 2012 pur…

Decided today to return to RC4 after a long absence....tried a few others but still feel better with RC4. Anyhow, I also wanted to use IYP again and tried to review the IYP manual and check for updates. It appears that IYP is abandoned, only a sad little forum remains. All the necessary files and docs are missing. Anyone know what happened? Where the files may be found? For the first time, voice recognition is not working with any aircraft even after a refresher with voice tutorial. It isn' t needed with RC but does make things a bit more fun.

I have a new PC which I am trying to install RC. I have the original disk purchased from RC when it first came out, many years ago. In any case, I loaded that disk, which is for version 4.0, I also have the 4.3 version upgrade on a disk that I saved. When I run the install file I get a message that files are corrupted. Is there someway I can download the proper files to be able to install RC on my new PC. I purchased this so long ago that I no longer have the info about that purchase. Any help or suggestions would really be appreciated. Thanx in advance Pete

Flying my approach under RC ATC control, as I turn onto the base leg, I get decsent order to 4000 feet but the terrain in my path is over 4000 agl. Of course I ignore the instruction untIL clear of interceding terrain. But of course later that Fsdo word fool Bill Stevens berates me. How to prevent this situation in future?

Searching through old threads, it doesn't seem taxiing has been discussed much lately. Anyone have any new ideas on how best to do this in RadarContact. I'm new to the program. I see there is a program called fsx dbs airport gps. Does anyone like this program? It doesn't seem to be widely used at this time. What alternatives are there. Where do I turn FSX atc back on for progressive taxi? Any help is appreciated. Best, Matt

I just noticed something my frame rate drops from pegged at 60 to 35 to 45 when I start radar contact in prepar3d v4. Anyone have any fixes?

I have recently started flying P3Dv4 with RC4 and Active sky. I set up Active sky to give thunderstorms, which are then picked up on my weather radar. To try to avoid them, I request RC to allow a deviation. This is granted "deviate right or left". Then after a couple of minutes, I am hammered for being off course. I have tried requesting a "direct to" the next waypoint but the same result "are you showing yourself on the airways? I have you off course, fly ...... until...." What is the correct procedure, so that RC understands?

Hello, I've just purchased a new pc and I'm going through the process of reinstalling flight simulator and my addons. The last thing I need to do is install radar contact. But unfortunately, I cant. When entering the registration key that was sent to me in an email the registration window just closes. I am entering it exactly as shown in the email with no spaces. I'm using windows 10 pro with FSX steam edition. Thanks.

In previous version of P3D and FSX Radar Contact was able to hold traffic (as far as I understand) to avoid runway incursions or in some cases would ask you to go around. In V4 I am seeing that RC doesnt ask me to go around nor does it hold traffic. Is this again an issue with P3D V4 or am I missing some thing i.e. something in FUSIPC or some thing. Now almost every flight I run into the issue where I get cleared to land and AI traffic is lining up on the runway. Regards Asad

Hi, Since installing P3D V4 I have noticed that RC is not saying that complete runway designation, for example at Dubai instead of 12 right or left it will ask AI traffic to taxi to runway 12. This is happening at all airports. Oddly enough the taxi instructions or landing clearances to me are ok with full runway designation. I have already run the latest make runways and see the correct available runways in the request runway list. Thanks alot for the help Regards Asad

Hello, I think it's time to put FS9 to rest in an honorable place. It will be missed. You were a splendid friend. I'm setting up FSX for the first time ever and I own a CD Version of RC4.2. However, I have recently installed RC4.3 for FS9 (maybe two months ago). I'm wondering what should be the right procedure, given you have to ask for a key via email: -Uninstall RC4.3 for FS9 -Reinstall RC4.3 for FSX? -Ask for a new cd Key? I'm afraid they will accuse of pirating keys since I just asked for a key some weeks ago and given I wasn't answered in due time, I insisted with two more emails (24Hr and 48Hr). I got my new reg key on July 27 and I have now got everything working on my computer so installed RC4 and I enter the new key but every time I start RC4 I still get the registration request screen. I have tried four times to no avail. I even tried it under Administrator and still no way. Can someone tell me what I should try next. Any help would be great.

Hello I had to reinstall rc from CD. Now i want update to V4.3. In my backup folder i found the files rcv4_3831.zip and rcv4_3843.zip, but i am missing rcv401update.exe. Where can i get it? br Michael

I have sent several emails requesting a new key as I had to completely rebuild windows but have not received a reply. Any help would be much appreciated regards Brian

I have tried all the way to get my key. (Auto-gen email, Manually sending with plain text, send email to JD...) So many days has passed and still did not hear any reply from them so I decided to refund. This would be a nice add-on but I will never get a chance to give it a try.

Hi, Just wanted to make sure RC is not installing any Environmental Cockpit Sound, since there's this continue whistle sounding as A/C in the cockpit which I think I've narrowed down to RC. (Turning off every other sound but RC which doesn't have this option) I'd like to get rid of it, it overlaps with other sounds which I find more interesting. On my new installation of RC4 for P3Dv4, I have the command/message box but it is now titled "Simconnect messages " ( or similar), whereas previously it had no title I thought RC only used FSUIPC. Is this correct? Could this be anything to do with the repeated failure of RC to connect to the Sim.although the window is there with the frequencies etc. (Pressing the keys to request info has no effect). Hi Guys, I have been using RC since it was first published with little or no problems. How ever since I purchased the PMDG B747-400 v3 I have had problems. For example at Gatwick (UK2000) B747-400 and ASNEXT I start RC and select the ATIS and get the wx OK. If I then select Clearance I hear nothing. If I continue the flight I sometimes hear a transmission from RC for ex Contact London Control, FO calls control but there is no answer. I also do not get any chatter files running. I do not get the same problem running the PMDG B777 or the 737-800 NGX or MD11. I am running FSX under Windows 7 after having the same problems under Windows 10. …

However, hearing the pre-recorded chatter is hit or miss, especially on oceanic crossings. It is definitely checked on so I should hear it as in the past. Second problem is that I am not properly handing off to Gander and Shanwick. Currently between Greenland and Iceland flying from JFK to Amsterdam and still talking to Moncton. Any thoughts? Thanks. I just for help, RC4 working fine for me, only a problem, in p3d V4 i don't see the normal window inside the simulator but the commands are inside a green box on top of the screen. it is possible to change some setting to have the normal old window? thanks
