Since the W10 update last week to 1809 I have had all sorts of issues with P3D4.4, the latest with Radar Contact ☹️ Normally after starting RC I would have a 'window' displayed across the screen with the RC-module which I would then re-size and undock to my map monitor. After several attempts, shut downs and restarts all with the same result, I took the decision to uninstall my (quite aged!) RC4 and download the 'freeware' files for a fresh start... Installed and 'registered' OK ~~~ ran the database thingy ~~~ opened RC4 ~~~ loaded a flightplan ~~~ made the necessary settings (runway/gate etc) ~~~ 'Start RC' ~~~~ nothing! Hi. Without preamble, if setting radios & nav gauges or calling ground, clearance or FSS before startup drains your battery and you don't have a registered version of FSUIPC then read on. I've only just installed RC4 for P3D, having taken months to summon the courage to tackle what ended up being a very simple task as I already had RC installed for FS9. I may, if anyone thinks it would be useful, post a precis of what I did along with some screenshots. That's for later. Just reinstalled RC4 and activated with new key. Am trying to setup how I had it before but, being a member of FlyUK VA, for the life of me I can't remember how I previously got "SKYWAYS" as my call sign. It seems one has to set an Airline, which I thought I previously set as Skyways Sweden, but this comes up as "Sky Express" and I can't seem to be able to edit the Callsign box. Is there anyway to either add an Airline to the list or edit the Callsign box? Thanks for any help or advice. Stuart

First thank you for making this great add on available for free. And to continue support is a class act! A couple of quick questions which I can't seem to find an answer. 1. How to prevent default ATC from suddenly blaring. Need to turn it off entirely. 2. After take off in NGX, (the only aircraft I've flown with RC4 so far) I can barley hear RC4 under the sim sound without scaling back my sound sliders and then only barley. I use REal WX Lite (freeware from Hans-Coderz) for FS2004 weather. FS Real WX Lite will lock up after a few minutes of running RCv4 then I end up shutting down FS Real WX Lite. What can be done to make FS REal WX Lite and RCv4 run happily together in communication to FS9 via FSUIPC v3.999. Detalis: All software running on the same computer. 2GB ram 1.73GHZ Intel Pentium M ATI x300 64mb video Windows XP SP3 (RCv4 supports XP!) all VB6 runtimes installed. After buying RC years ago, I stopped using it because there was no easy way to get output to the headset where it belongs. I refuse to change my system set up to conform to a specific addon so ultimately I deleted it. Thought I'd d/l it again and try using a program called audiorouter - sadly it would just crash RC. well, found a solution - in W10 itself - w10 has a built in audio router that will remember your settings. right click the speaker icon on the taskbar and select sound settings scroll to bottom - it says apps run rc and test a voice - you'll see a popup entry for rc show up in the settings box set the input and output devices …

Firstly many thanks for releasing Radar Contact as freeware this is very much appreciated. Even though I have read right through all the problems associated with msstdfmt.dll I cannot get Radar Contact to work. I have even re-installed it over the original installation but to no effect, I have also looked in Windows for the dll but it is not there so hoping that someone would be able to suggest how I can obtain this file in order to run RCv4. I have looked on the Microsoft site to see if there is one to download as I mistrust other sites but unfortunately Microsoft do not have it (that I could see). Hi, I 'm new to radar contact and I do not understand English well so I used the text display but it scrolls too quickly. It would be possible to slow the speed of the text display. Or better yet have the french texts . Thank you.

Hi guys, I am sure I saw it yesterday but now I can't find it. I have just installed RC4 and tested it and I enjoyed it, however I use Ultimate Traffic Live (latest version) and I noticed that RC4 no interaction with AI Traffic, I did read (the bit I can't find) that in order for it to work you need a separate piece of software is this still the case? And for those that have a similar setup as I do can you advise.... It's purely how to get it to work with UTL I felt very lonely

I am having trouble with this download from the cloud as my machine,Win 10 using Opera browser does not like the file.I have got a copy downloaded however when running the said file It will not open due to the following message. Due to a potential virus or unwanted software the program will not function. All I am wanting is to generate a key for my new installation on a fresh machine! Can anyone please help?

With the help of this Forum, I recently installed RC in my new P3Dv4.4 FS with FSUIPC5. I just directed RC to my P3D root folder and it seemec to install fine. I have the Lorby Scenery.cfg, the Lorby Scenery Export.exe & MakeRwys.exe in the root folder. I also see r4.csv, r5.bin and r5.csv files. Now, Radar contact is working almost fine. Somehow, In my P3D files folder, I have my fsx files which has all my saved .pln and rcd files. I've copied all the .pln flight plans into the P#D flight plans and they work. I was just thrilled when RC opened and I am flying cross countries with it now. Now for my problem. Under the general heading of RC, I have not bee…

Hi All Just returned to flight sims after a few years. Have just installed P3D v4. I uninstalled FSX some time ago but I never uninstalled radar contact. Is there any way to point it to P3D? Unfortunately I don’t have the original download so I can’t reinstall it. I did notice in a previous thread that it is possible to contact ?Doug to obtain a download link, would that be the best way to go? If I have to purchase it again, so be it. i have tried a couple of the current atc programs but haven’t been overly impressed, such a pity v5 was shelved. Many thanks for any help Regards G

I'm running into trouble trying to get a RC 4.3 key for a new computer...I sent the request out last night, and a follow-up to Doug & JD this afternoon, and got a "failure" message telling me that I had alpha characters in front of the product ID, and not to add stuff to the request. Well, I didn't add anything, but I think my gmail web client did. So I tried a test message back to myself, and sure enough, when viewed in raw format there's a bunch of html formatting info in the message body that you won't see unless you go looking for it. I used rc4 two days ago. It worked for about five minutes then it stopped. Since then I cannot start it anymore. When I double-click the icon (as admin) the spinning circle stops after one second, nothing happens, no error message. Uninstall / reinstall didin't change anything. OS is W10 1803, build 17134.345. On Oct 10 there have been two updates KB4462919 and KB4462930 May the updates have broken anything?

Hello, I just managed to installed RC4 into P3Dv4.3 and got it working, the problem I am having is that I can hear the Radar Contact Com voices as well as the P3d default Atc. This makes it hard to make out what RC wants me to do. Any way of stopping this???? Thanks.

I've tried reaching out to the author, but there hasn't been a response. I'm interested in Version 3 of Radar Contact, so that I can use it with FS 2000. I'm working on a series of retro flight-sim videos, and I wanted to have some ATC going with my flights. I would buy v4, but it isn't compatible with the older flight sims.

Hi, I'm having an issue with pasting the registration key provided by Radar Contact. I have sent two emails and received very fast a product key. Unfortunately on both keys - after I enter and click the button, it does not take me to Rader Contact but just leaves me on my desktop. I have looked at the forum here and tried all the solutions - i.e. "run as Admin", reboot, send another email for the key, etc. all to no avail. When I enter the key from my email, it just takes a "spin" for a minute and takes me back to my desktop. I'm running Win 7 (Had Win 10 - but that was a pain) and thought that would correct any issues. Can anybody advise why aft…

I'm using FSXSE on a Jetline Systems Win 10 (64bit) PC. Have used Radar Contact for years. PC came in Dec 2017 with P3d 4.2. Got so fed up with it I went to FSXSE in about two months. Radar Contact has been working flawlessly. However, Steam dumped a large update on me a few days ago, and I have had a number of problems. My main problem now is with Radar Contact. When I hit the Start button, I get a window with a red X (no number) and IPC Timed Out all Retries, and the program will not open. I reinstalled Make Runways, and ran the buttons for file path and Scenery before hitting Start to no avail. I haven't a clue as to what the Retries is about as everything els…
