Is it possible to file an IFR flight plan in Fly!II without using VOR's? In the flight planner, when I hit the calculate route, it routes me from VOR to VOR. That is fine I guess, but I'd rather use a direct GPS route. When I hit the "direct to" button on the GPS, but have already generated the flight plan using VOR, the default ATC reminds me about every 2 mins that "I'm ## miles from the marker." Kind of annoying on longer flights.Will the default ATC recognize a direct GPS route? Maybe I'm goofed up here. Can you have an IFR plan that only follows a GPS route and not VOR's? To those using Terramodels (especially Wayne Roberts).....Microsoft has changed the URL for the Terraservice site (to obtain the USGS images). Ideally, this link should probably have been put in a local INI file, instead of hardcoded into the app :)Unfortunately, Terramodels will no longer be able to obtain the USGS images without a patch.At this time, I do not have Fly II installed on my system (more on this later). Therefore, I will probably need to rely on some of the heavy users to test the EXE for me when I make the change. In Fly!2k, when using the vector map, if one zoomed in enough, you could see the actual runway/taxiway layout and exactly where on it your plane was. This is helpful when being assigned to a runway and you have absolutely no idea where you really are within the maze of airport terminals and taxiways.I've not been able to get this Fly!2k feature to work in Fly!2. Howdy,Cruising an out of the way games store today and found a boxed copy of Fly2K at a riduculously low price (NZ$29.00 or US$13.00 approx). Now, I've seen plenty enough copies of Fly2 around down here in Christchurch, New Zealand (at NZ$99.00 or US$43.00 approx.) and I understand it is not too bad a sim, but I've never heard of Fly2K.Is it worth obtaining? How is it different from Fly2? And probably a bazillion other questions I have not even thought about asking yet. Enquiring minds would really like to know :-)TIA

Will the real Elizabeth City scenery area please stand up? This area of northeastern North Carolina actually contains Elizabeth City. The Kinston area project was initially misnamed, so to avoid any confusion I am now calling the Elizabeth City region Edenton. Edenton is a small city near the center of the global tile. Yesterday I have proudly installed 777 and then 757 from PMDG. Problems arise.1. Fly didn't start any more. Message "Runtime exception code C0000005 (Exception_Access_Violation)) at address 00527134 File: Winrun.cpp Line: 1522. I uninstalled both by deleting all installed POD and dlls.3. MY FLY STARTED AGAIN IN VERSION .218 (I WAS 240)4. No more blue skies, only dark gray (day) or black (night).Does any one experienced this? I have been using Terrascene to improve a few locations in New Zealand.Happy with the results in the South Is of New Zealand but not so for the North Is. Try as I may I cannot get other than land where ocean should be.The area in question is Wellington Airport (NZWN). have posted an image from the program showing the map area. The South Is is clearly depicted but not so the North.I am wondering whether this is significant.Any ideas?

Friend from work wanted to experience some night flying so we grabbed ole N73891 and went up last night. We took off from Blueash just before sunset, flew out over Shandon, Ohio, buzzed the ole homestead. The kids were in the backyard playing so we did a "turns around the homestead" manuver and wiggled the wings when we headed south for Aurora.We landed at Frankfort just at dusk, landing light blew about 20 feet above the runway, Dan didn't notice it so I didn't say anything, didn't want to worry him before the Sonic Burger feast!Coming back over the blackness that is Northern Kentucky at night, Dan who is interested in starting to take his PPL training asked how often …
