II) GPS - headwind and tailwind calculation issue

	Hello again

This function (headwind and tailwind calculation) is mentioned in Fly! II' GPS manual (in "How to" folder)- and even with pictures of GPS panel with result of such calculation! But, when in-game, I wasn't able to get it working - I tried to set different TAS and course values at CAL7 page, both with METAR-set winds and weather-options-set winds. But headwind and tailwind values are always 0. What I'm doing wrong? Is this function broken (like weather radar)?

G'day to all Fly!ers! I'm flying in Fly!2K for two years, but only couple of months ago I discovered a whole world full of all these magnificent addons made by community (many thanks to you all!). And now I'm in search for Flyscripts (I have 1.2 version, but can't find patch 1.2.1) and - especially - C4TO for Fly!2K. I already made a search in Avsim library, but only thing I was able to find were 3.x dll versions for Fly! II. It looks like these files are completely disappeared not only from Avsim (I have read about 2009 hack attempt...), but from the whole Internet. Does anybody know where to find this files for Fly!2K? Thanks, and clear sky to all!

Has anyone been successful running in Win 10? I finally had to upgrade my system to be compatible with some upgrades for my professional tools. I successfully installed Fly!II (copied original directory over from my Windows 7 installation). After working around some graphics issues I got it to run nicely in "letter-boxed" form at its original resolution. However, the menus' text/fonts don't look very hot and overlays/pop-ups (like the GPS) come up empty (nice frame of the GPS, but with nothing on the display but a black screen).

I have other simulators but would hate to lose Fly! - I had been running it about once a week.

	Any ideas?

	Hello everyone!

I've been playing "Fly! II" for the past week, downloading some scenery, and also creating some scenery with Terramodels. I'm looking for "Taxiway Editor" by Peter A Jacobson, which I see referenced in several files (mostly by Wayne Roberts). I have not been able to find that program anywhere in the library. Can anyone help me find it?

Has anyone had any success in getting "Fly! II" to run in Windowed Mode? I see no option in the menus, nor the INI file. ALT + ENTER doesn't do anything, nor does adding "-w" or "-window" in the shortcut properties.

	Hi Everyone,

It's been a while, in fact a long while, since I visited Avsim. Nice to find that my old login was still there!

I haven't done much at all with simulators for a number of years as I just don't have the hardware nowadays to run them. I will try my old copy of Fly!2 though on this little desktop; it is probably as powerful as the one I used to run Fly! on all those years ago.

How many are still here, apart from Randall, Ken and Flyfisher?

I now have 2 airport scenery areas where the tarmacs/parking areas have disappeared. At both Dulles (IAD) and Dallas Fort Worth (DFW) airports all tarmacs are gone (aircraft and buildings are sitting on grass). The taxiways are all there, but the buildings appear to have shifted a little also. Anyone else ever have this issue?

Hello Fly!ers!

I still use Fly!II more than any of my other sims. In fact, due to my schedule, I'm just getting around to flying the PMDG 777 & 757 for the first time! I know that seems strange, but I always knew I'd get around to them when the time was right. I'm semi-retired, but as I've started a new business, my flying time is still limited.

I've run into some anomalies with both aircraft. I figured some of you might still be flying them. I know that they became very popular - I can't recall that there were a high number of issues, so I'm hoping that my questions might be easily answered. Before I spend time listing the items, I'll wait and see if those of you who put a good deal of time into these aircraft would be willing to respond (or are still around).

With the unbelievable power of our modern computers, especially the one I use, it runs Fly!II and the other aircraft like a hot knife thru butter.

Warm regards to all,

I just reinstalled FLY II and the ROTW DVD. I am surprised how much I am enjoying revisiting this old friend.

However, every once in a while I get a fatal error... here are the diagnostics.

Msg: Fatal error caused by .DLL "system\modules\pc\pydll.dll" in DLLIdle routine.
File: Dllman.cpp line 1619
Time: Fri Nov 21 17:09:06 2014
errno = 2 (No such file or directory)

Any advice?

A while back in Fly!'s development a feature was added to allow us to access scenery from other physical drives than what the Fly!II program was installed on. This was very important for me, as my scenery data is quite large (around 16 GB right now). Since I switched to Win7 a while back, this no longer appears to function.

As I recall the setting in the fly.ini was:

searchOtherDrives=1

There is also this line, which may be an old parameter:

serchOtherDrives=0

I've tried every variation of these 2 settings with no success. Is anyone else experiencing this issue? Might it be a "compatibility files" problem?

Hello fellow Fly!ers,

Been very quiet here, but thought I would let you know that the english version of volEdit by Didier Rigault (ROTW) is now back in the library under development category. Didier was kind enough to provide me permission to upload the file, and any others that might be missing and not available on the ROTW site. So, if there is something Didier provided but is not here, let me know - if I have it I will post it back to the library.

Was going through some of the library files on TerraScene area many of us had done and of course was reacquainted with Randall Rocke's efforts to supply new shapefiles from the 2000 Tiger census info. So checked out my old link and redirected to the Census website for Tiger shapefiles. Low and behold - there is new 2013 files available!

Soooo... am thinking while I am unable to work I may redo my Atlanta, Kings Bay sceneries (areas I frequent most right now) and maybe restart my Oklahoma and Puget Sound efforts with the updated roads, rails, etc. All I have to do now is get to my files so I can re-read Randall's instructions on the use of the shapefiles! LOL Hopefully I can also remember just how to use TerraScene!!!

Thought if anyone else in the old group is around and wishing, they might like to know about the new data. If anyone is interested and still has Fly! II loaded with TerraScene as well, just download one of Randall's update files mentioning the Tiger Census 2000 files for the correct method of inserting the shapefiles into TerraScene for rendering new, updated sceneries. Thankfully I have an extra computer available to do the renderings!

I'm sorry I've been away for so long (career issues). I see things are fairly quiet - I hope someone can point me in the right direction.

After installation of a TM airport scenery set for Spain, I now get an error message that dumps Fly!II. This is the old C3d Model Load failure I used to get with some sceneries when a model pack was missing. The missing item is TR-FR30.SMF. Anybody recofnize this file? Is there a model set I can download that contains it?

Many thanks!
