The FLY General Discussion Forum
The General Discussion forum for the TRI series of FLY Simulators.
| Richard Harvey Lake Tahoe September, 2002 | This forum and all others related to the FLY series of flight simulator, are dedicated to the memory of Richard Harvey - the lead designer for Terminal Reality's Fly.
At the AVSIM FANCON of 2002, Richard and his wife, Tara, attended. Richard was presented with AVSIM's Lifetime Achievement Award for his contribution to the flight simulation genre and his outstanding service and support of the FS community. Richard was a friend to many of us, and never hesitated to assist and inspire. Richard passed away the following March, 2003. He is sorely missed by his friends and those that were privileged to know him.
Richard in his last post to the forums said; "Try to stay away from things that are dark, dreary, introspective, tear jerkers, etc. Think HAPPY -- be HAPPY. If that is too much to ask, then I'll change the word HAPPY to POSITIVE. That's the flow of feeling I want rolling through my soul as I depart this earth from each of you, is absolute POSITIVE energy. Don't stall on me, I have to soar!"
Richard also passed this along to us in his last post; "******* Christ is my Lord and Savior. As my loving God and Lord has protected and guided me throughout my life, I pray he will do likewise for you and your family. May each of you achieve your dreams, and not be troubled by hardships. I pray for your good health. God will only give you as much load as you can bear, and never any more. Do not lose hope, nor certainly faith. Above all, do not fear evil, for though it surrounds us it can never hurt us. It may claim hollow victories, but it always suffers defeat."
We are proud to carry on Richard's undaunted support for his passion and his unstinting support of the user. Welcome to the Richard Harvey Memorial Fly Forums! |

Sorry for the totally off topic post (as if my question of the week wasn't enough!), but I had to post.About a year and a half ago, I completed the MCSE course for Win2k. I got through the first two tests, and decided to take a two week break before continuing. Unfortunately, that two week break turned in to a year + break. Well, now after spending what feels like every waking moment for the last 4 1/2 months studying, I can now say it was all worth it. At 1:30 pm this afternoon, I officially became an MCSE. Now, where's my joystick!-Brian

OK, after last weeks fun question (I never did find the time to reply to it myself. Sorry.), I thought we'd go for a more ethical question. I think these are more fun because there never is a real right and wrong answer. As always, be prepared to back up your answer. This one goes along with my interest in politics, government, and the games that they are part of. This also is geared towards the cynical-ness that it seems so many people have. Hopefully there's enough room in this question for international answers. You always hear of how politicians are liars, crooks, and just plain bad guys. The question is two parted.1)Is it possible for politicians to be totally honest …

I have just tried to download the file "reims_v3.ZIP" onto my machine. The download was successful except for the following error message that I received when teleporting to LFQA. I was kicked out of Fly!2 and returned to the desktop with this message:Can't load texture TMGROUND.TIF: file not foundFile: texture.cppLine: 1376Is there a file missing? If so, would someone email me the file? By the way, the .jpg views are great. Keep up the fine work!!!! I'm sure I am not the only one that will enjoy your work on Reims-Champagne!Thank you in advance for your [email protected]

I have a CH Yoke with 8 way hatswitch that I use when flying Fly!2. I have tried to reconfigure the switches for exterior views, (in lieu of having to use Ctrl.+ arrow keys) but without success. It would be so much easier flying if one could use the hatswitches. I have gone into the key or button assignment section, changed the assignments, but to no avail. Is there an adjustment required in the fly.ini file? What is it that I have to do to be able to use the hatswitches in Fly!2?Curtis

FlyI to FlyII. I've been around since the original release, and have enjoyed happiness and have shared sorrow on this unique forum. Pic 1 is from FlyI around LAX, the others from II in the same area. Thanks to all the TRI team, and all the additional talent out there...I enjoy them both. To AVSIM......Thank you for letting us all come together.
