The FLY General Discussion Forum
The General Discussion forum for the TRI series of FLY Simulators.
| Richard Harvey Lake Tahoe September, 2002 | This forum and all others related to the FLY series of flight simulator, are dedicated to the memory of Richard Harvey - the lead designer for Terminal Reality's Fly.
At the AVSIM FANCON of 2002, Richard and his wife, Tara, attended. Richard was presented with AVSIM's Lifetime Achievement Award for his contribution to the flight simulation genre and his outstanding service and support of the FS community. Richard was a friend to many of us, and never hesitated to assist and inspire. Richard passed away the following March, 2003. He is sorely missed by his friends and those that were privileged to know him.
Richard in his last post to the forums said; "Try to stay away from things that are dark, dreary, introspective, tear jerkers, etc. Think HAPPY -- be HAPPY. If that is too much to ask, then I'll change the word HAPPY to POSITIVE. That's the flow of feeling I want rolling through my soul as I depart this earth from each of you, is absolute POSITIVE energy. Don't stall on me, I have to soar!"
Richard also passed this along to us in his last post; "******* Christ is my Lord and Savior. As my loving God and Lord has protected and guided me throughout my life, I pray he will do likewise for you and your family. May each of you achieve your dreams, and not be troubled by hardships. I pray for your good health. God will only give you as much load as you can bear, and never any more. Do not lose hope, nor certainly faith. Above all, do not fear evil, for though it surrounds us it can never hurt us. It may claim hollow victories, but it always suffers defeat."
We are proud to carry on Richard's undaunted support for his passion and his unstinting support of the user. Welcome to the Richard Harvey Memorial Fly Forums! |

Curious is there is work being done on a Cirrus SR20 or 22. I posted on an earlier thread mentioning a possible project that I would be willing to help as I have flown one recently and am familiar with the avionics and flight characteristics (very nice indeed :)).Let me know.Zane

This is my finding about those lights. I am using a Radeon 9700 Pro and I have to adjust the render.ini file with vertex =0 or=2.Than I loose all the strenght of the lights. If I adjust =1, I have full power of the lights, but the graphics are totally unusable. :-(If somebody uses a Radeon 9700 and have full power of landing lights, please let me know. Thanks and regardsRakhamPIV 2.53 Ghz 1536 DDR RAM ATI Radeon 9700 Pro WinXP ProYoke & Pedals CH Products

I don't want to leave it blank, next to the conditioner levers, so I could either place some text such as flap speeds or maybe some gauges such as autopilot or something else.I want this plane to be a real workhorse...., very low ceilings, rain, fog, no time to change screens...tony

On or off for basic Fly!2 planes makes absolutely no changes during the night conditions. Is this normal on Fly!2 or what and where do I have to tune up? I would like to see a real strong white patch several feet in front of the plane. Thanks and regardsRakhamPIV 2.53 Ghz 1536 DDR RAM ATI Radeon 9700 Pro WinXP ProYoke & Pedals CH Products

As you can see, the throttle, prop and conditioner levers will be fully functional for those of you who need to take off and land in small strips, where there's no time to switch panels. The cockpit has been touched up a bit more and ,with some luck, I may be able to upload it this week. Who's doing the paint job?tony
-
I have just uploaded the Twin Otter cockpit mod for you to enjoy. As said earlier, the panel still needs some fixes, none of which should interfere with the pure pleasure of flying this wonderful aircraft. I hope someone does a repaint of the aircraft for Harvey Air. I want to thank many of you here for the help and the comraderie.tony

After 5 months, I decided to re-install Fly!2. I am not used to it anymore for the install! If this is a card problem, what could it be? Thanks and regardsRakhamPIV 2.53 Ghz 1536 DDR RAM ATI Radeon 9700 Pro WinXP ProYoke & Pedals CH Productshttp://forums.avsim.net/user_files/39463.jpg

..over the last couple of years and I just learned how to create a POD file the other night. So, all of the tawiways I had in my data folder, (somewhere around 120 I think), I PODDED up. I have a bunch for Kansas (that is where I live), San Fran area and quite a few I made for Alaska. Many of the tw's in AK I took a little artistic license with as I couldn't find really good pictures. I'm sure some of them are flat out wrong, but since I doubt I will ever see them, it doesn't really matter to me. The only problem I have is that I PODDED all of the tw files, several of them were made from other scenery folks. Too many to count. So, if I offer this tw file, I don't h…

I now understand how repainting aircraft can become so addictive!Think I'm gonna take a little break now and see if I can get myself off unemployed which has lasted waaaay too long! Can anyone out there explain why it appears that some of the seams on the MD80 aircraft don't seem to meet -- and also why at greater distances some chunks of the fuselage seem to disappear?Lastly -- anyone who paints or has painted the 757 -- is there a "template" available - or is it a "fly by the seat-of-your-pants" type of operation? Help would be appreciated in that area.Enjoy!http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/38948.jpgJohn BauderFly! II PCNew York, NYKLGA/[email protected]

from work up for his first flight the other day. His wife was REALLY reluctant about him going. We used my digital camera to take all of the pictures of his flight. I told him I would burn his pictures off to a CD for him over the weekend so he could get them printed out. I also told him I could email a picture to his wife today so she could see what we did on his first flight. I just hope she doesn't notice the "enhancements" I did in cleaning up the inside of the Cessna a bit, it had a few wear spots on the inside trim around the door opening...wouldn't want her to get worried we were in an unsafe aircraft or anything! I just hope she can see the joy in his face a…

Hello to all!!I'm attempting to repaint a 707 into an undisclosed livery -but one I'm sure most of you would be able to appreciate. All I did was to take the original TIFF file, change the textures, and attempted to repod the aircraft. It repodded just fine, however, after starting up Fly! II and attempting to switch to this new aircraft I keep getting a message saying that the Number One Engine is undefined.Would anyone perhaps know what I may do to overcome this???Any help would be appreciated.John BauderFly! Flew online last night for the first time using SQB 3.02 in the LAX area. Basically stayed away from LAX itself. POC-LAX-POC. Controllers were very cooperative. Takes a while to get used to the language. Looking forward to doing it again. Has anyone in FlyII tried this?Qdog
